In my search for a good massage therapist, I tried a number of people that I found by word of mouth. But I was unable to find a good fit. So I decided to try yelp where I found Daniel. I have a lower back sports injury and inflammation in the spine. But most of the sports massage places I went to seemed very clinical/cold - I also wanted a massage that was going to be relaxing for stress-relief, but I couldn't find a good combination. Spa massages didn't get to the issue. Sports massages were painful and didn't help with stress. Daniel is the perfect combination of both. He's trained for injuries, so he can massage for healing. He also does amazing, calming, stress-melting massage. Sometimes he throws in hot stones as well. All I have to say is "my hips are sore" and it's like his intuition is a honed radar to get to the exact spot that's causing problems and work it away. His ability to read a body and get to the problem is astounding. He even finds those spots I didn't mention, but were causing problems and I forgot to mention it. His location is great too - easy to get to, secluded and private so you're not in a waiting room with a bunch of people or hearing the people in the booth next door. It's very serene and cozy, and he leaves out a bit of trail mix and water after every massage so you can replenish. The lotion he uses is great even for my sensitive skin - almost everything irritates my skin, but it loves this lotion. It works for the massage, but then sinks in so I don't leave feeling greasy at all, just smooth. In addition to being the perfect mix of skills for a massage therapist and having a nice, calming and private location, Daniel's personality and customer service are just amazing. He's the person that you're comfortable with the second you meet him. I've never felt exposed or awkward around him. His natural personality just puts you right at ease, which is crucial for a massage. He knows my preferred times and will give me a heads up when they are available and also has online booking - he just does everything to make it easy to go see him. Plus his prices are so reasonable so I can afford to go more often than I would at spa prices. It took me two years of going to different places trying to find THE massage therapist, and Daniel has filled that role completely! My injuries are healing and the stress-relief is making a noticeable impact. I cannot recommend him enough; it has been life-changing to be able to walk without pain and not be in a cloud of stress. read more

I am a CrossFit athlete with a chronic injury, so my aches and pains can be challenging to pinpoint and manage, but Daniel handles it all with ease. I am so happy I found Daniel! About a year and a half ago, I started physical therapy for a back injury (disc herniation that caused sciatica down both legs) and started also incorporating massage therapy into my routine to help with the pain. With such an injury, it was important for me to go to a therapist who was skilled in dealing with injuries (I've made the mistake of seeing a few who are not and it's not good). I had recently moved to Hayes Valley, so I researched therapists on Yelp and noticed that Fluid Body was conveniently located near to my place. Even better, Daniel had all the right qualifications AND he even works at my physical therapy office! It was like all the stars aligned! I made an appointment online and have been a client ever since. Daniel is a phenomenal therapist and as others have said, he's excellent with deep tissue work and I always come out of the massage very relaxed. My disc herniation was extremely painful at times, and also caused a lot of muscle tightness, and sessions with Daniel were sometimes the only thing that gave me relief. After an MRI, I ended up being told that I needed to get relatively urgent back surgery due to the location and size of the herniation, which made me extremely nervous. Daniel went out of his way to ask all of the people that he knew in the therapy world if they had any surgeon recommendations, if they had heard of the surgeon I selected and if they had any feedback/advice. He helped me feel comfortable with the surgery, and getting it was truly the best thing that I could have done. Daniel = miracle worker. I found him on Yelp and made an appointment to see him after I had been experiencing pretty bad back/neck pain and a headache for more than a week. When I arrived at his studio Wednesday afternoon, he sat me down and I filled him in on what was bothering me and what I was hoping to get out of the hour-long session. What followed was a bliss-inducing 60-minute massage that finally gave me relief from the pain I had been experiencing all week. Daniel is an amazing masseuse, and knows exactly how to find problem spots and work on them until the knots release. His table was comfortable, the lotions he used were awesome, he played relaxing music throughout the session, and he recognized that I didn't want to chat much during the massage. Daniel is awesome. I saw him for the first time yesterday after recently having a pretty intense surgery to help me with swelling and reduce stress. I have been riding bicycles in SF for over 20 years and have gotten up to the centuries. I usually get massages once a month to help undo the damage I have done to my body. Recently I discovered Fluid Body Massage. I just can't say enough about what a wonderful experience Daniel provides. Everything about his little studio and him and his bodywork are all as close to perfect as possible. His massage table is heated, he provides many heated enhancements during the massage (and after with tea and munchies). But what is most amazing is how he treats the whole body. Neck, shoulders, back, lower back, hips, legs, feet and hands. In thinking about it, all of these are stressed after spending many hours on a bike. They all need to be explored and 'repaired' as necessary. I am constantly amazed about how he finds the knots and sore spots and then works them out, taking his time until they are resolved. My thoughts during the massage include (not counting a few grimaces) awesome, wonderful, fabulous, etc. And he is very generous with his time and really comes off as someone you'd like to be in your circle of friends.I couldn't recommend him more highly (and I have already sent 4 friends to him, so hurry up ;-) read more
