This was my first massage ever and I'd be lying if I said I was not scared. However the staff here made me feel comfortable and welcomed me with open arms! Magical!! I came to Zeke after a long 3 days at Outside Lands, and in short, I feel like a new person! The atmosphere is very tranquil, with running water and soothing sounds. My session at the Inner Richmond location was lovely. Krisi was very receptive in listening to my problem areas, things I've tried before, and areas I didn't want touched. She was excellent in explaining what she was planning to do for our first session, answered any questions I had before we got started, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. When the massage part completed, and we were recapping what she did, she made suggestions on what I could do, in addition to coming back for future sessions. Given how tense my shoulders were, if we continued our time together, she recommended that I come see her at least once a week (although, she was in no way pressuring me to do so.) She mentioned Massage Grotto does have a Package Special of 5 sessions for $400, which I think is a great deal. All massage therapists are not created equal and Zeek is a top 1% professional who I feel so lucky to have found in SF. Their hours are also amazing, the best availability in the city, you can book 7 days a week up until 9 PM! Book through their website, instructions are all very clear and they take payment through venmo. If you want more than 60 min massage just book multiple sessions back to back and shoot a text over to the business number to give a heads up. The massage room is super clean and cozy, with a fireplace and very comfortable massage table. Zeek even provided a bottle of water after the massage. On top of the fantastic technique and communication with me, he used the most amazing creams - hands down beats any other massage oil or cream I've come across. It will make you feel like you're floating on a cloud, I think maybe it's arnica with something (will ask next time). I get deep tissue massages very often and have been to some of the best spas in the US, including at the Waldorf Astoria in Maui, Ritz Carlton in New York, and tops spas in SF and LA. Zeek's massage is not beaten by any of them. (Which is no surprise after learning Zeek came from the Ritz Carlton spa and was one of the go-to therapists for John Travolta's visits to SF. [Classpass review] NO CALL NO SHOW. Justin's system is not properly connected to Classpass and expects users to go through a terribly complicated flow - booking through CP and then again on his website to make sure that appointment time is available. I never received a message from saying he was already booked for the time slot I booked on Classpass. When I arrived, I waited for 30 mins and Justin did not show up. Didn't answer the phone or text back. He messaged me later on saying that he was vacation and that is the process to schedule a massage. When I book on Classpass, it should be simple - I use it for convenience so I don't have to deal with every provider's website and booking system. So Justin needs to get it together. He is also very terrifying/aggressive in that he threatened to sue my friend for a Classpass review she didn't even write. Sounds like someone who can't handle feedback to me. I wouldn't make an appointment here, simply out of fear that Justin will go from normal to scary. read more
