6/4/25 FYI. Time for my cycling season.
    Lee D.

Quality/Quantity - There really should be a separate bike and walking path. Especially with all the ebikes! It is almost as if people are riding a moped on the sidewalk. So dangerous for all. And so many of these people do NOT have control, going too fast, not warning others when passing, etc. I am very surprised that there are not more accidents. As locals, we bring our own manual bikes for the trails. Sometimes we just bike from the condo, just to avoid the parking issues and inexperienced drivers. Atmosphere - Popular tourist bike rental place. Actually the only one in this area for Incline. Next to the famous Tunnel Creek Cafe. Service - N/A; well they can train and educate their customers to be safer! Price - See website. Ranges from $20 to $98. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2000. Thank you Max (owner) for being a part of the bike trails since 1983.

There is no better way to take in the breathtaking views of the Tahoe East Shore Shared Use Path - the most scenic bike path in the western United States - while getting a little exercise in than on an e-bike. This bike shop is located behind the Tunnel Creek Cafe and adjacent to the parking lot. You can just walk up and rent a bike. No reservations are required. The cost to rent one is $35 for two hours. $49 for the day. $20 for youth bikes. You can reserve e-bikes online. The bike path, which begins from the parking lot, leads you on a beautiful 3-mile ride to Sand Harbor in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park - one of the most beautiful beaches on Lake Tahoe, known for its pristine sandy shoreline, crystal clear turquoise waters, and picturesque scenery. There never seems to be a shortage of e-bikes to rent even on the busiest of weekends. Service is friendly and very helpful on how to work the e-bike and explaining the layout of the bike path.

A bike rental spot at the head of the Flume mixed use trail. We rented a couple of eBikes to try them out. The trail follows the north eastern edge of the lake for around 3 miles ending at sand harbor beach. With the zippy eBikes it took no time at all and if we were to do it over again, would have only rented for 2 hours, instead of 3 (which is same as all day price) We lucked out an scored a spot in their small parking lot around 11 am on a bustling Saturday so didn't have to pay for parking. The paved trail is super nice except for big groups of people who would move over causing me a couple of near crashes despite my slow pace as I appreciate. The views along the trail are amazing so you'll want to stop and take pictures. Tip: be SURE to ask them for a lock (we didn't) so you can stop and checkout a couple of small beaches or get some food. The young kids staffing the shop aren't too forthcoming with questions like "hey, do you want a lock?" Bikes were expensive to rent but they've got the ideal location from which to do so at the end of the trail, but views along the way are priceless

Looking forward to repeating this bucket list ride. Be prepared for a great journey. The inspiring views are always memorable and breathtaking.

Easy bike rental service and right at the East shore trail. $50/bike, $90/e-bike. The trail is beautiful.

The shop was equipped with good equipment and the staff were great. I would suggest them in a moment. The other great thing is you rent a bike, you have a choice of different options, to include electric assist. Everyone was very helpful and even the people who had their own equipment were willing to help us find the trail and kept an eye out for us. It made the whole experience great. Working with the staff was easy, and honesty pretty straightforward. Unlike other places that are rigid, they had us set up really quickly, gave us a quick rundown on the bike, loaded them on the van and we were on our way! Easy peasy!

We had a great ride on the east shore trail. Since we were visiting from Chicago and in our 50's it was suggested that the 1100 foot climb for the flume trail might be too big a challenge and I think they were right. We rode to Sand Harbor and had a great time at the beach. I would like to plan to train and get acclimated to the altitude to do the flume trail another time. either way it was great.

Quite a bit of change for bike rentals. Bikes aren't the best quality. Trails are difficult uphill at some parts.

The resort offers biking lessons, and the group lessons are especially helpful for families wanting to learn some basic skills and gain confidence, in order to better enjoy their day on the mountain. The private lessons are well worth the money for families through advanced riders, and coaches John & Eric rock! They both have years of experience, can definitely help you skill up, and are personable and fun to hang with. For families, these fantastic coaches can turn a nice visit into an awesome day of adventures! With private lessons, riders of different skill levels can be accommodated, so that each biker is able to learn and progress. Thanks to their great coaching, we had family members learn enough to hit intermediate trails on Day 1! The other advantage of private lessons was that the kids/teens had a coach to accompany them since none of the adults could keep up! Parents will appreciate that they can watch and build trust in their coach during the first hour or so and then feel good about bowing out for libations, confident that their kids are riding the more challenging trails with a responsible, biking-experienced adult. Book a mountain biking lesson with Coach John or Eric the next time you're at Northstar! You'll be glad you did!!

With an elevation gain of 1410ft and many switchbacks be sure to carry plenty of H20, wear appropriate footwear, maybe bring something like a granola bar or fruit and as always pack out, what you pack in. The trail is well maintained, but can be narrow & steep at times with bicyclists and furry companions allowed on the trail too. Please be sure to bring leashes along with doggy mutt mitts aka poop bags, there is a trash can and mutt mitts at the beginning of the trail but better to be prepared and there are no poop fairies. Remember everyone is out there to enjoy the beauty of the Great Outdoors so ENJOY IT! We thoroughly enjoyed this hike, stopping along the way to take in the spring flowers, beautiful views, grab our binoculars to look upon Genoa, the Carson River & Jacks Valley. We crossed the creek throughout the trail with foot bridges, butterflies, and the reward of our hiking adventure was the Genoa Waterfall as it cascade over as we listened to it surrounded by the pine trees. So get out there, this is a GREAT waterfall hike with stunning views added bonus you are already in the quaint historic town of Genoa so why not check out the cute town and grab a bite to eat or libation. We expected to ride our bikes for a mere 2 hours and looked ahead at the prices per hour, which we deemed reasonable. It's only when we come back from our 2 hour ride that we see we have collectively been charged $1,000 for a "deposit" regarding two bikes. Furthermore, this amount was never shared with us verbally or can even be found online. They then tried to charge the actual amount of the bike rentals on top of the $1,000. This is a hefty deposit for two bikes, and I've paid less to rent a boat for more than 2 hours. I don't want anyone else to be misled like I was, so I am leaving this review. I will never be back and I'll be sure to tell my family who vacations here annually, to also go elsewhere. It is usually pretty empty early mornings when I typically arrive and even by 10am it is not to bad. Be aware that it does get fairly warm because there is not much shade.
