One side of the hill
Fran V.

We were just looking for a hill to sled down and came upon sky tavern. Just about 15-20 min from south Reno up my rose hwy, sits Sky Tavern, a not for profit organization that runs this small ski lift and shop on the weekend for local kids who want to learn how to snowboard and ski. I haven't experienced that, but on the week day we went, it's closed and many people just use the hill as a sledding hill. The snow was pretty packed and there is a tree line close to the bottom of the hill, but there were some good runs and if you don't mind hiking half way up the hill, you can catch some great speed on the way down. Seen as it isn't open (that I could tell) and the lift is running, there is no cost. You just have to be willing to hike up and down and get out of peoples way when they come barrelling down. From what I noticed, it was mostly families with younger kids, but us two adults and a teenager had a blast too! Bring your own sled and some water to stay hydrated and have a go at it!

Best place to get your kid ski or board lessons. Volunteer operated. Great hill. No lines when the lessons are over.

We are visiting the Tahoe area and saw a brochure. It is not like anything else I have ever tried. I use sensory for my work so it was fun to flesh it out in a different way. I would highly recommend! We went as just two people. The optimal amount of people in a group would probably be 4. I could see it as a great team building experience.

She was very thorough in explaining what the game is like, the rules, and cheering our teams on. The games were fun and funny, and sometimes built up a sweat. I thought they did a great job coming up with games using all five of our senses. This would be a great place for TEAM building or for friends and family. You can have a minimum of two people and maybe up to eight, so there would be four on each team. I think any more than that would be a hindrance. It's not that big of a deal, but try to have your group it be split into even numbers. I feel that some of the games work out in favor of those who have more in their group. I've done so many escape rooms that this was such a great change of pace!

Most recently we visited Toytopia. This exhibit offers the chance to explore a hands-on history of toys from the past and into the future. My kids loved the oversized robotic claw, reminiscent of an amped up arcade machine. It was a blast trying to get the individually articulating fingers to close around the ball in order to lift it into the basket for the big reward. We also enjoyed the oversized battleship game. So fun to play and we spent 20-30 min there. Mr Potato Head was old school fun too. We made a competition out of it to see who could make the wackiest example. I think I won... or maybe my kids let me win. But the favorite had to be the mini arcade they had setup with some of the best old school cabinets. Donkey Kong, DK Jr., Dig Dug and so many more are all here as part of the exhibit and you could spend a long time here without realizing it! Oh and there's even a Zoltar fortune teller too! When you're done at toytopia you can go learn the history of Wilbur D May on the other side of the museum. I personally love exploring the artifacts and treasures he collected from his travels, especially the hunting and fishing trophies! All in all, a great little place to spend a

The food was surprisingly good. I tried the chicken wings with their hottest sauce and couldn't stop licking my fingers. They were perfectly crispy and came with a nice side of fries and healthy veggies to dunk in the ranch. The sauce was balanced with a good punch of vinegar and a nice kick of heat and the service team really knew the menu well so they helped guide us to some great selections. The mini golf being themed around our city was a fun time too, and I loved the addition of the Joker, which makes each whole play a little different and the game of mini golf a whole lot more interactive. I loved how it would encourage. Encouraged you to connect with the people you're playing with talk to them and strategize around how to leverage these advantages to help you win. Now the darts was a big surprise. This fancy tech driven dartboard that they have includes a bunch of super fun games that make darts approachable for any person. I'm not a Dart player. Maybe I've thrown one a few times but the variety of games they offer made it super fun. We crashed castles and spaceship ships and played team games in individual games in the our past and all of us were like oh no is it over? Seriously, put Birdeez on your radar for a good time. You won't be disappointed.
