There was a sign that said, "fairly cool" inside which was enticing in this heat. The owner was kind of enough to throw out my unwanted ice cream cone and then directed us over to what we were looking for. Place is jammed packed with lots of old stuff for a trip down memory lane. Lots of old treasures, luggage, furniture, signage, window panes and more downstairs. Will go back when it's not so hot out to take a look around. Trying to maneuver around a packed place sweating was not a good time, but found what we were looking for which made the visit worthwhile! If the NKOTB watch is still there... who knows? Largely decor/dish type items here but there's also some odds and ends you could grab for your own projects, like 25¢ old keys. I usually come away from here with just one treasure because they do have vintage rather than thrift prices. For example today I got a tea light holder with 3 hanging glass baskets for $26. I think that's pretty fair in this economy though, especially for a small business as lovely as this one.

I also bought two vintages designer lights and a couple pieces of glass labware to put cocktails in and put on the rolling cart to roll around the house (see above). I also bought a very cool looking gumball machine where you push down a little lever and a gumball comes out.** **I have put real gumballs and M&M peanuts in this thing and it has yet to spit out a gumball. It's pretty cool, though. OK, these guys have vintage cocktail glasses and shakers (do you see a problem here?) and more labware that I might buy. And a couple great vintage stands from a chemistry lab that has lots of clamps for test tubes. I'm trying to justify this one. My god!! They have two gigantic overhead light fixtures on rolling frames. If you live in one of those hoity-toity warehouses there is no excuse not to buy these. O, VINYL RECORDS YOU PEOPLE. The store is not only carefully curated so that every item is worth bringing home, the prices make it reasonable to actually do so. I have found so many treasures at Love Token - a gorgeous faux fur coat straight from the collection of a fashion icon, a $40 hearty denim "farm coat" (warmer than anything from major brands that have been advertised to me since moving from a desert climate), candles that don't drip when burned, homemade jewelry for everyone on my Christmas list, etc. Tldr; the vibes are immaculate, the color palettes to die for, and the quality/price combo to bring it all home.

They have an outside area with giant letters from signs, garden items and such. The main rooms upstairs are all kinds of random pieces of art, photos and supplies, dolls and more and downstairs they have even more stuff to check out. Jam packed, can be a bit overwhelming. It was my first time going and didn't really know what to expect but I'll for sure be back to grab some things for my scrapbooks & other art projects. I was looking at the one measly (but spot-on) review of B-Squad and thinking, "B-Squad should not be a hidden gem. It's just a regular gem. I mean, it is kind of off the normal thrifting route, but it's totally worth writing about in the tune of The Little Mermaid song lyrics." This cute little shop in SoMi has a really eclectic selection that is a mix between newer things and real-deal vintage, plus records, a little decor, accessories, shoes, boots and some kids stuff. The store is kept up well, so there always seems to be some cool new thing in the window or racked up when I visit, which is not as often as I'd like. Anecdote from my recent visit: I went a couple of weeks ago and, while I browsed the merch, I eavesdropped on the clerk's convo with her friend. She was like, "OMG, you just have to come in and look at this bag.... Yeah, it's gorgeous! And It's probably not going to last very long because it's so cheap... and it's a FRYE!" Simultaneously as the word FRYE came out of the shop-girl's mouth, I saw the bag. I should say, I saw THE bag: a camel-colored, buttery leather backpack with vintage looks and modern functionality (laptop pouch!) for $40. I had to have it. After she hung up the phone, I sheepishly asked the clerk, "Is this the bag you were talking about? Because I'm a rude, rude person and was listening to your entire conversation." I braced myself to hear that her friend wanted it, but luckily, she replied with, "Yes! I'm in love with that thing... you should definitely buy it!" So, I just had to follow her advice, right? I even offered to write her friend a letter with my apologies for eavesdropping her out of an amazing leather bag... and my condolences, because she'll never see the wonder that is this bag.
