It is very shady and cool from the giant oak trees. A great place to reflect, relax, read a book, think, or walk your dog. It has no parking lot, so you may have to park by the nearby businesses or residential streets and walk to the park. It is a short walk from Murphy High School on Carlen Street, which is a nice place to visit when all the students are not there. The park has many old Southern Homes around it, and other local businesses. There is a Waffle House on Government Street plus a gas station, Subway, Pizza Hut, and car wash nearby. There is an old, abandoned, boarded up church nearby as well.

However, be careful as the roots from the pines run across the trails and if you are not careful you could fall. This is a nice park to bird watch or for the young ones to find creatures. I never knew this existed until today and have lived in Baldwin County all my life.

This park is on a hill, and one part of the park is a small Long Leaf Pine Forest, the other part a park with a memorial, veterans fountain, and benches atop a hill overlooking Mobile Bay. I did see one or two cars parked along the park for free, and I did not see any no parking signs, but I think most people that visit either park at Fairhope Municipal Pier or at Fairhope Municipal Beach at the bottom of the hill. There are no restrooms or playground (s) at this park, it is more devoted to nature, but restrooms, BBQs, and picnic tables are available downhill at Fairhope Municipal Beach. Saw a lot of Mobile County Parks & Recreation workers and trucks out there, it looks like some big renovation project was getting underway.

It has a children's play area, a nice lake, several pavilions and a bridge that leads to the Mobile Miuseum of Art. Over on that side of the bridge,they have several sculptures on the grounds. All in all, Joseph N. Langan Park is a wonderful addition to the community of Mobile, Alabama and a great place for all to gather in test and recreation. I would definitely recommend Joseph N. Langan Park and I give it five stars foe an absolutely amazing park. Go see it for yourself.

The front of the park is on an uphill incline, has concrete walkway. No BBQ pits at this park, you will need to bring your own grill for a cookout. Great for kids. Older playground in the front park, newer playground equipment in the rear park. Park also has a Youth Center way in the back plus some boarded up abandoned building. Large green grassy area in rear of park for sports plus I saw a soccer net. Park is encircled by the woods. Both restrooms have an electric plug above the sink & to the side of the mirror. Clean park, free of litter. Small parking lot in front, and an older parking lot in the rear plus additional parking along the roadway leading to youth center that is obscured by the neighborhood & woods. This park is much quieter & isolated compared to the waterfront parks in Daphne. I was here early, I was the only one. Only complaints: sign said no dogs, well I was already there with my dog, alone, so whatever, I broke that rule. Second complaint: there was a small broken window in the ladies room, so the restroom was chock full of those lovely Alabama Dragonflies that LOVE water. Other then that, yeah, it's a great park.
