We had a great time here recently. We bought tickets at the gate. Unfortunately, there's not an option for admission for people that aren't riding rides. So, two people in our party had to pay full price for no rides. There was a long wait at the front to get into the park, because only one employee was working. Not really sure what they were doing because they gave us a wrist band for the water park even though we only paid for the theme park. We were as confused as they were. We went during Thanksgiving week so the weather was cooler, but there wasn't much of a wait for any rides. Our daughter wasn't tall enough to ride everything (only 38"), but we still managed to have a good time. They have a lot of rides for the smaller kids. My wife and I enjoyed the roller coaster the best. We took advantage of the low wait times and rode the roller coaster several times. Definitely worth checking out.

This was our 2nd time visiting this park. It was about $230 admission for 3 people. We went on a Sunday. It was not overcrowded. We were able to ride back to back with no lines. It is slightly difficult to find seating in the inside area. The food is basic park food nothing spectacular. We enjoyed being able to have fun indoors and out. We also paid for 1 cup with free refills all day.

The "party area." As you can see there's just plain tables. No tableware as promised.

Read all the reviews. This place needs to be shut down. They are operating over capacity and someone is going to wind up dead. Seriously. It's a recipe for disaster. Read my review about what they did to ruin my son's birthday party. Read all the one star reviews. I have no idea how they averaged all the one stars to somehow get 3 stars. This place is the pits, is ripping people off, and should be closed for good.

What a fun little park in the region. The grounds were immaculate, and everyone was super friendly. Highly recommended for families while visiting the Gulf Coast, particularly Alabama and Pensacola.

Hi Sheri, we did post photos of the parade and the costume contest over on our Facebook page (@VisitOWA). Thanks!

How long did it take to build Owa?

Hi Daniel, The Park at OWA was built in a record-breaking eight months! We broke ground on November 2, 2016 and opened to the public the following July.

Let's start with all the outdated hazardous equipment. I wouldn't let my worst enemy on some of those rides. Then the mini golf area? How hard is it to pick up trash and blow the leaves off the course. All the "shortcut" pipes need a good cleaning. Lost 3 balls on hole 3. The gocarts? Lucky if they have 7 working at any given time. Lazertag. Same. Only 7 players could go at a time. Don't get me started on the concessions. The day after the 4th, a worker said, "sorry, we didn't expect this rush." It was midday on a Saturday. We didn't try the water park and based on how bad everything else is, won't ever give it a go. Tear this place down.

When I read about the price drop, all I could think of was that since they've chopped the price down, it will seriously be packed the entire time they are open. I'm so glad that I purchased this anyway because it being overcrowded was completely unfounded. When I arrive, I get a float & enter the lazy river (don't think that's the correct name!) and I just float away - for hours. I have a lower back issue so to be in the water on a float - it takes out all the pressure on my lower back! They play music, they have a snack bar, and the staff is wonderful! You are not allowed to bring in snacks/drinks so just know that upfront. I also love the area where it's really shallow & little children are mostly there. Because they have this huge "pail" that continually fills up w/water. Then they tip the pail to where all the water dumps into the shallow pool. I think a bell rings or something so you have a few seconds to grab your child if you are worried they might get scared/knocked over. I can vouch for what force the pail tips over as far as the water coming out of it. I knew they were about to tip the pail over & it's so much fun plus you really get cooled off. What I did not know - however - was to grab my top because the pail of water comes down really quickly and my top came down with it. After I regrouped, I got out of the water to get my sunscreen when a lifeguard approached me. I was pretty sure he was going to ask me to leave, and that this is a "family" type atmosphere and to please stop terrorizing the children. But he ended up asking me where I had purchased my bracelet. Crisis averted! I love this place so much!!!

The location was great, the room was amazing, the amentities were the best part. This is a great place for families as the many pools and water areas are so much fun. They have poolside activities like poolside movies. There is a small tiki bar with a small menu on site as well. They also offer umbrella/chair rentals on the beach in front of the resort. I can imagine without the construction project you have a better chance of walking to the nearby restaurants/attractions, but we opted to drive. The parking is gated as well as the pool areas.

BEWARE AVARI VACATION RENTALS: Condo uninhabitable,…read moresignificant water damage and mold, refund or relocation refused We booked unit A412 at the Waterscapes in Fort Walton Beach through Avari. Upon entering the condo I noticed a musty smell and the condo looked severely neglected- chipped paint throughout the corners and baseboards that looked like it needed to be touched up for multiple seasons, with significant water damage and mold/growth growing around the baseboards and drywall in the bathrooms. Upon brushing my teeth I noticed that the bathroom faucet was completely caked with black and green mold and we ended up using bottled water to brush our teeth. One of the showers wasn't dispersing water properly and it was actually painful to shower because of how much pressure was coming out of the shower head (water was only coming out of half of it, so it was shooting out to the point I couldn't shower my child because it was like pins and needles). Usually high water pressure is great but this was extreme and from obvious neglect. When we got into bed we noticed our sheets were stained throughout the middle of the bed. The condo was truly disgusting and I have ZERO idea how anyone thought it was OK to have guests in it at all. We had to stay there one night because our flight got in super late (we arrived at the condo around 12:30 am) and I had my 3 year old with us so we ended up switching beds to one that looked cleaner and crashing for just the night hours (until around 8:30) before hauling out of there. I was in contact with customer service from about 1-2 am, but was told I would have to wait until the on site property management before I could be relocated or refunded. When I finally got a hold of the on site property manager (after calling multiple times from 8:30 am- 10:30 am) she told me I could not be relocated or refunded. It was after 11 am before I could see her in person though there were several urgent orders put in for her to contact me. We walked through the condo together and I pointed out all the issues above and told her the condo was uninhabitable and to ask again, and I was told the same again (no refund or relocation to a different condo). Apparently if the individual owner doesn't want to refund you your money- it doesn't matter if the place has obvious mold issues and unlivable! As a side note I woke up with a sore throat and itchy/runny sinuses that resolved after leaving, so I will be reporting this condo to the local health department. I truly believe this place is a major health hazard and caution everyone to stay away from Avari- they obviously do not care about the health and safety of their customers.

The drinks at the pizza place are okay and We have been a few times over the years. I explored and found The Lost Key bar which had a lovely tiki glass(plastic ) which I promptly bought. The bartender talked to us and We found out she is the one creating the drinks. Keep her always she's an asset to your hotel. The hotel has a lovely coconut scent being pumped in. The negatives and why I wouldn't stay here 1. Those elevators! They are too dang slow. We seriously took the stairs which I swear was 10 flights from the bar cause it was too slow. Not only that they are the smallest elevators I have ever had the misfortune to be in. This was way before 4 so that can't be used as an excuse! 2 . The elevators were crowded to the point it was uncomfortable. The hotel itself is more crowded than I prefer . This is probably because of Summer! I just prefer hotels that are more quiet and with less rambunctious children going around. I checked this hotel thinking it might be a hotel choice for my next trip but what I saw confirmed that this place is not for me or my family.

We are absolutely never going to come back and we would never recommend anyone else come. #1- rooms and resort are not very clean. Our room had fruit flies on day one and it only got worse when we brought one open bag of chips into the room. The carpet was nasty and made our socks and feet black on the bottoms. Carpets around the resort were stained and dingy and our whole floor smelled like weed. #2- pool and water playground area leave much to be desired. The pool itself is very small, the kids play area is small as well and the ground of it is not even slightly soft. The lazy river was ok but looked super cheap and worn and got really crowded. The entire pool area has no where near enough chairs or umbrellas, and there isn't any shade or open area at all. On Saturday people were literally just sitting in the ground in direct sun. Also no lifeguards or anyone seeming to be watching the pool area as far as management because I saw a few people very obviously vaping and no one did anything. #3- food at the margaritaville restaurant was mid at best. A salad and the burger were good but the margarita was nasty and the breakfast omelet had no seasoning just a ton of oil. #4- no water fountains anywhere. Literally felt impossible to fill up a water bottle unless you bought bottled. Had an ice machine on our floor thankfully but no water fountains throughout the resort. #5- no housekeeping turnover unless you stay over 3 nights but they're supposed to come do trash and towels. Well one day they came and took trash and dropped off new towels but left all the dirties and the next day they just left a bag on the door with trash bags and towels. Our son enjoyed the arcade a lot but the games were pretty pricey to play. The paradise pier is literally built on top of a parking garage and has zero shade and gets so hot. It's pretty small and rides were expensive. The room was pretty spacious and every employee we encountered was super nice so there is that. For the price you pay ($950 for 3 nights), you would expect so much more and it's extremely lacking.

There is a small lot with about 15 spots behind the Y, about half the time I am able to park there easily. If that small lot is full, there is a parking garage directly across the street, the only downside to this is that you have to validate your ticket, and there is a 2.5 hour limit, which is usually more than enough but it is nice to not have to think about the time limit, which is why I prefer to park in the small lot behind the Y. 2. Staff: I have no idea what these other reviews are talking about when they say that the staff members are snarky or not helpful. All staff, specifically at the front desk, are kind, helpful, and even have gone the extra mile to learn my name even though I do not visit extremely frequently (~once a week, maybe twice.) 3. People on their phones on the equipment: Honestly, I've seen this happen (I've even done it myself at times) But typically its just someone sending a text or changing a song. I have never seen someone sit on their phone for more than 30 seconds on each machine. Stop by this Y, meet the staff, you won't be disappointed.

That makes absolutely no sense. The pool is also located in a glassed area next to the upper level workout rooms. So, be prepared for LOUD music being played while you swim and constant traffic from gym members. Front desk staff haven't been trained in customer service. No greetings, have their phones in front of them, when you have questions, they just point to self-service. Not quite sure why there needs to be a paid position for someone who doesn't seem to have a purpose being there. No way to improve on this except for moving to a bigger, better planned building and hire new staff or retrain existing staff.
