We had a great time here recently. We bought tickets at the gate. Unfortunately, there's not an option for admission for people that aren't riding rides. So, two people in our party had to pay full price for no rides. There was a long wait at the front to get into the park, because only one employee was working. Not really sure what they were doing because they gave us a wrist band for the water park even though we only paid for the theme park. We were as confused as they were. We went during Thanksgiving week so the weather was cooler, but there wasn't much of a wait for any rides. Our daughter wasn't tall enough to ride everything (only 38"), but we still managed to have a good time. They have a lot of rides for the smaller kids. My wife and I enjoyed the roller coaster the best. We took advantage of the low wait times and rode the roller coaster several times. Definitely worth checking out. read more

It is awful! It was so crowded, you could barely move inside the water features. it took an hour waiting in line to go down the few water rides they have. We were in the wave pool and lazy river, people pushing and running into you. Not there fault, we had no room to move barely! With how packed it was, they continued to allow people to flow in with no space. When we first arrived in the morning, water was clear, hour later, it was so cloudy I couldn't see my lower legs. The lines for food, rides and refilling drinks was ridiculous as well. I will never go back here again! You pay way too much to not be able to barely move inside the water. They really need to turn people away after a certain number is reached. Do yourself a favor, save your money and don't waste it here. read more

The big screen only plays OWA ads. They used to play sports. Their lazy river is out of commission too. Looking for other recommendations, this place has gone downhill since last year. I asked guest services to play sports and their response FROM management was "we are only playing what's already on." They showed me their boss' response via text. Alrighty then lol. I debated whether to post this, but I feel it's important for other families to be aware before spending money and traveling for this experience. I traveled from Birmingham and spent a significant amount of money to bring my children to Tropic Falls for the indoor waterpark. Unfortunately, my experience ended up being extremely disappointing and embarrassing. After climbing several flights of stairs to ride a float attraction with my son, I was asked to step on a scale in front of multiple guests waiting in line. I was then told publicly that I exceeded the weight limit and could not ride any float attractions. Another guest even asked if I could ride solo instead, and again, in front of everyone, I was told I exceeded the limit. I completely understand and respect ride safety policies and weight restrictions. My concern is not that safety rules exist. My concern is the lack of clear disclosure beforehand and how the situation was handled publicly. The website states: "All Riders: Maximum Weight of Rider = 250 lbs. Double Riders: Maximum Combined Weight of Riders = 400 lbs." Based on that wording, I believed my son and I qualified for a double float ride as long as we were under the combined limit. If the policy is that no rider over 250 lbs can ride any float attraction regardless of combined weight, I feel that should be made much clearer before ticket purchase. What hurt the most was being weighed and having my weight discussed in front of strangers and my child. My son no longer wanted to ride afterward, and I walked away feeling embarrassed and unable to participate in the attractions I came to enjoy with my son. I have reached out to management privately because I wanted to give them the opportunity to address my concerns first. However, I also feel it's fair to make others aware so they can make informed decisions before visiting. I truly hope policies are communicated more clearly and situations like this are handled with more privacy and sensitivity in the future. read more

We were on a family vacation and had only been at the park for about three hours after spending $261 on a family four-pack. We are from Kansas and were excited to enjoy our day together. My autistic son was standing in line for the slides with his brother. Thinking his sister was nearby, he playfully patted a little girl on the head and said, "boop." There was no harmful intent behind it. My son is autistic, and social situations can sometimes be challenging for him. The child's mother immediately began screaming at my son, calling him a "pedo" and saying he should not be allowed near children. Security became involved and brought my son to the first aid room while they searched for me. When I arrived, my son was terrified, crying, and completely devastated. Despite asking questions, I was repeatedly told only that he had touched a little girl. After speaking with staff and writing a statement explaining that my son is autistic and meant no harm, I was informed that the mother understood the situation and acknowledged it was harmless. Staff also told me they believed the interaction was harmless. Yet despite that, we were still forced to leave the park and were even offered an escort to our vehicle. What is most upsetting is that my son was treated as though he was a threat rather than a child with a disability who made an innocent mistake. The person creating a public disturbance and verbally attacking a child faced no consequences, while my son was removed from the park. This feels like discrimination because once staff learned my son had autism and that no malicious intent existed, they still chose to exclude him rather than educate, de-escalate, or provide reasonable understanding and accommodation. Children with autism deserve the same opportunity to participate in public spaces without being labeled, stereotyped, or punished for behaviors that are clearly innocent. My son left feeling ashamed, frightened, and rejected for something he did not understand was wrong, and no child with a disability should have to experience that. read more

We are currently on our 2nd visit to the waterpark. While we have had positive experiences and the park is well-kept, the music choices are downright awful. Unfortunately, we are forced to endure many of the horrendous songs being played all day while at the waterpark. OWA really needs to improve their specialized playlist (Fun Mix OWA). My teen daughter and her friends even agreed. I did, however, enjoy David Archuleta's Crush, OneRepublic's Secret, and Beach Boys' Surfin' Safari to name a few. read more

This was our 2nd time visiting this park. It was about $230 admission for 3 people. We went on a Sunday. It was not overcrowded. We were able to ride back to back with no lines. It is slightly difficult to find seating in the inside area. The food is basic park food nothing spectacular. We enjoyed being able to have fun indoors and out. What a great way to spend a day! It was slightly overcast and that just made it even better. The wave pool is absolutely worth it! The indoor water park is a can't miss for the kids. The lazy river is tops. The dining options just outside of the ticketed entrance is what I'd recommend instead of eating inside. Yes the entrance price is on the higher side ($80/pp) but with all of the water activities and all of the rides I think it ends up being worth it if you have several hours to kill. There is also PLENTY of parking (all free) so absolutely no worries there either. This was my first time at OWA but certainly not my last! read more

$300 for a day for two adults and two children. Open from 9am-10pm. Got there bout 11 and it was ok w the amount of people but once noon passed, oh my goodness. Crowded isn't the word. Lazy River was a traffic jam full of people using tubes that go on the slides, inside the lazy River. Tubes....lets talk about tubes. This place has slides that need either tubes, mats or you just slide. The tubes were extremely hard to come by. They either don't have enough to go around or it's the people hoarding their tubes after they get done w a slide. It was almost not worth it to stand in a line (2 areas) to wait for someone to come down a slide and want to give up their tube. Workers weren't telling people they had to give up their tube at the bottom and some of these people were rude enough to hog the tube. The mats were for one slide w 3 lanes. That is the only reason to go hunt down the blue mats. The lines to wait for any tube or mat were long. The wave pool was extremely crowded and people had the tubes needed for the slides, outside in the wave pool. Not cool. But when your parents don't know how to respect others, they just let their kids do whatever they want. Place was darker than a black steers tookus on a moonless prairie night. read more

COULD'VE Been Better with BETTER Staff operations...I found myself several times doing their job: 1. Trying to find smaller groups to fill in the empty seats on the rides, so that the lines would move faster; 2. Stopping kids from skipping people in line; 3. Having kids go back to their proper place in line; 4. STOPPING GROWN-UPS FROM SKIPPING, and; 5. HAVING GROWN-UPS follow the rules on waiting their turn! As you can imagine, None of these tasks were peaceful, and I was merely there to try to relax and have fun. THAT'S WHAT I Paid for. Yet I found myself PAYING OWA for me to be stressed out and angry because I had to do their job to stop the unruly behavior! This could've ALL BEEN AVOIDED IF the folks OWA HIRED would enforce simple rules and guidelines to create a more safe and stress free environment, and if they would simply Engage with their customers and pay more attention to them. read more

Took the family to OWA today. It should be known and be made perfectly clear that everyone going through the gate will pay for a ticket, regardless if they are physically able to ride or not. My 12 year old son was injured in February, and is still bound to a wheel chair. While he has regained some ability to walk it is very very limited. He also is still wearing a Wound Vac. We assumed that he'd be able to go and just chill with me, while my wife and other two boys took in the rides. This was not the case. We were told at the gate when we presented our pre-purchased tickets that we'd have to have a ticket for him to roll around in the property. We originally planned to spend Spring Break in Dollywood but after his injury, we changed plans. Regrets........ Shame on OWA for not taking our disabled folks into account. Can't comment on the waterpark because we bought the outdoor park only pass (which is only $23 online). There were next to no lines on the rides which was nice. Some of the kiddy rides broke down while there. A little unnerving given some of these rides go upside down and plus theres a roller coaster. And a few rides also werent working. A few of the games to win prizes also were broken while we were playing. Seems like too many things broken for such a small park. When 15% of your entertainment is broken or glitching, that's no good. Overall though, it wasn't terrible and was cheap enough for what there was enough to do for a few hours. This place was over priced. Most of the rides were down or they didn't open them because there was not enough people to ride. If you don't pay for water park admission you can't go into the surf shop. No ine waiting for the ride and we still had to leave the building and walk through the whole entrance just to ride again. I drove my child and Neicey from out of town there today. Yes we went for the indoor slides and pool, but also went for the outside portion. We were told the outside portion opened at 1pm so we stayed and waited. When asked if they were going to open the facility outside they said No because they didn't "hire enough people " to do that. It was a Monday and NOT crowded. They said that no manager was around and they could not get into touch with anyone over the outdoor park. It was really disappointing - and I felt taken advantage of given the price of these tickets. They need to re-evaluate who they have running and representing each area. Everyone I encountered at concessions was beyond kind and helpful. There were plenty of tubes to use on the slides and lazy river. It seems to be run either by very young managers or run by someone who just doesn't care about the consumer experience. Security was beyond kind and very apologetic about the rest of the tropic falls being shut down. Huge bummer. read more

Waterpark: 4 Theme Park: 2 The rides in the park are very uncomfortable and border on being somewhat dangerous due to being too tight. And this is for a kid and 130 lb. woman. The water park was fine and we had a good time with wait times pretty low for slides. Overall we were there for 4.5 hours and had an overall good time. This park popped up on my Tiktoc feed so we decided to go check it out. Nice park, small but they are expanding. Very clean and polite staff, clean bathrooms. The water side seemed Geared more towards of younger kids but still had some things for us big kids. Lazy river was relaxing. Lots of seating around the lazy river. They have storage lockers available to rent for your valuables. We arrived at 10am when they opened started getting crowded by noon and thinned out after 3. Stopped here while driving by because I was curious. Before entering what looked like a shopping mall, I drove the area. There's a hotel and a sports complex area. I parked on the west end of the huge parking lot. There's an Italian restaurant and construction going on to either expand the area or open existing facilities. Walking through the area to the park entrance there are gift shops, other restaurants, arcades, and attractions...but most were not open when I passed through on Sunday morning (some were leftover Halloween attractions). The area is similar to most theme park areas but access is free to this section. At the east end is the park entrance. There's a charge to enter the park section however, if you're not going to ride anything, it's free to enter. I did notice different prices for riders...like a military discount. Inside the park was uncrowned and clean. Virtually no lines on every ride...most operating less than a quarter full. Now this wasn't because of pandemic protocols...there just weren't many people there when I stopped in...and it was a beautiful sunny day! Most rides are for little kids and like others have mentioned, sort of like fair rides. There is a roller coaster (Rollin Thunder) that runs back and forth through the ride area and for now, is the premium attraction of the park. But there definitely huge expansion possibilities for this park. I asked about a large structure under construction...they adding an indoor water park section! In comparison...to compete with the more popular theme parks, this place has a ways to go. But I think they're on the right track! I'd like to see what this place looks like again in a couple years. For little kids...this place is easily a 4 star attraction. But it's lacking of rides for teens and adults, I think it deserves just 3 stars...at least for now. read more

If I could choose zero stars I would. We bought the highest priced season passes for tropic falls for our entire family because we are local. We have come several times now and the water is freezing inside and there are no tubes to ride the slides. Hoping they would remedy it quickly we keep coming, but after today, we will no longer be supporting Owa or any of it Outfits. Today the water is so freezing in the lazy river and there are no tubes for slides or for the lazy River. The tubes for the slides are nonexistent and when you ask staff, they say that they cannot get any tubes ordered until October. Not sure how they're going to make it through the summer season. Our children found some tubes but when they got to the bottom, they were taken away from them. They say the heater to the water is being worked on yet we were not told an expected time to this remedy. In total disgust, we went to customer service at the ticket booth with calm minds and hearts just to be met with a nasty insulting condescending attitude, barely over 20 year old manager. She wouldn't even give her name and laughed in our faces about our complaint. She said she is the highest ranked manager there and no one above her. She says there's nothing that she can do. All they have been trained in is giving lame excuses for the problems. When we went to take her picture she closed the blind to the window. I would not come to this park or support this park. It's a joke. They don't care they're ripping people off. They do not care they are stealing money from local people. Plans to boycott this place are in order. The locals will rise and inform the public. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT OWA!! Update: Had to remove picture and name mentioned in this review because the person who said they were the only manager who could help us is only 17. Her mother contacted us out of concern for her daughter. In no way would we want to put a child in danger. The Park at OWA keeps improving and adding new and different things. The amusement park section isn't my favorite part but they have a "Downtown" area that has a lot of interesting places and they have some really fun live shows with tribute artists that do a fantastic job. There are a growing number of bars and restaurants here and at the rate OWA is adding things they should be getting up to the level of The Island in Pigeon Forge sooner than later. It's sad I'm having to give a one star but this place will never make it. No tubes to ride the rides... all the water is freezing. Workers are rude. When I went to grab a tube on the side of the water a worker rudely told me "Ma'am that's there for a reason". We purchased tickets not knowing the new outside part would be closed. When we asked what time it would open they just kept saying a later time and kept pushing it back only to never open it. They should have just said we don't have enough workers to open and I feel like people would have understood more. We're locals and we won't be back. read more

I really applaud the makers of the Park of OWA for what they've created with this small, family-friendly park. It brought back some great memories of summer days spent at Miracle Strip Amusement park a long time ago. The variety of rides they have installed are interesting. Rollin' Thunder is a coaster you could see at a major amusement park (just look at the Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Orlando as an example) while a large portion are thrill rides you would see at a state fair. Mystic Mansion is a great update to the classic dark ride concept. They have a Starflyer that looks great and would be a nice starting point before you tackle the massive one installed in Orlando. There is also a dedicated section for kiddie rides and games of chance. There's ample, comfortable seating and the park is very well maintained. I think their policy for non-riders is very smart. If a parent wants to bring their kids here but doesn't want to get hurled upside down then why should they pay admission if they're not going to ride anything? Well here they don't have to. I do think they could work on an option for people like myself. I love coasters and dark rides but I absolutely hate being spun around or being flung upside down over and over. They were running a summer promotion that offered admission for $20 after 5pm, which was perfect for me. Without this I would have really been on the fence about paying full admission price. I went to Owa today, the water was a good temperature (not "too" cold like the other reviews say) We didn't have any problems with floats there were plenty available. I enjoyed the cool "underground part" with the single rider slides. I felt as if there weren't enough rides for it to be a well known theme park but maybe that's just me. I also liked how there were restaurants outside the park you could go to without admission (Hershey, goat, etc) I also would like to mention that there were little to no wait times for water slides, rides, or food everything went super quickly which was surprising, although if the wait times were long it would not have been worth it. I don't know if it is even worth it to drive from super far away to go here but it's different for ever family. I also recommend staying at the EconoLodge if you do decide to go to Owa! read more

This amusement park is located a few minutes from the beach, is very easy to find, and has an ample parking lot. We arrived on Friday afternoon and were warmly greeted by every employee that we passed. I'm serious - every employee. The price of admission is $34.99 which I found reasonable for so many reasons. Although this isn't a huge park, there were enough rides to keep my teenager and her bestie busy for hours. They would have been happy to spend the entire day but I was pooped. The park was so clean that I figured it was brand new, although not the case per one of the employees. Somehow they've managed to keep it spotless and fresh for 3 years. And it wasn't crowded at all. I'm a coaster nut and could've ridden their impressive Rollin' Thunder over and over as there was no line. I rode it all by myself. There are several counter style and sit down dining options on the Main Street style area at the park entrance and we passed several signs advertising upcoming live entertainment. There is also a covered area with misting fans and several tables where you can take a load off and regroup. I noticed that there are additions coming such as a haunted house and a sushi restaurant. I still can't figure out why this place wasn't packed on the Friday before Memorial Day, but don't misunderstand - I'm certainly not complaining. This was a sweet find for us and there's no doubt that I'll be returning. read more

This place is downright horrible. Not only is it highly expensive even for people that live in the area. But their food is outright horrendous for the price that you have to pay. Have three kids and a wife, one child only likes chicken tenders. I paid $10 for mediocre sad looking chicken tenders, which did not come with a drink. For my wife and two other kids, we decided to get a pepperoni pizza. Not only was the pizza, disgusting and hard as a rock, but it had no toppings on it whatsoever. $18 for a 14 inch nasty frozen pizza is ridiculous. I remember when they first opened and they were cheaper on locals and actually had good food. Whoever is in charge of food and beverage needs to take a step back and look at getting quality items if they're gonna charge this much. read more
