Their property is much deeper than I had imagined, an urban farm wedged into that little triangle formed by Highway 70 and Highway 70 South in Bellevue. Several greenhouses grow a wide array of plants! Enormous fresh strawberries sat in small baskets. Inside a small shed, fresh cuts of meat were on display in the refrigerator while numerous treats covered every shelf. I acquired some sourdough bread, sea salt caramels, and strawberries, and all were delicious!

They had very reasonably priced pumpkins, as well as a small market with apple cider, meats, breads. They also had fresh produce, and I picked up very affordable heirloom tomatoes and purple bell peppers. The lady who checked us out had great recs on what to purchase, and we loved the jalapeño cheddar bread she recommended.

Parking is free in a grassy field. Depending on arrival time it may be a short walk to the entrance. They offer wagons to help get pumpkins to the car at the end. The field trip here exceeded my expectations. It was educational and fun for the kids. The kids arrived and had their sack lunches at the picnic tables. A farm guide led our group to the different areas. I loved that every area started as educational. It was the perfect amount of time to keep the interest of first graders. Then the kids would get to play and burn off energy for 10-15 minutes before the next section. We went on a wagon ride and the kids were able to pick pumpkins from a patch to take home. A highlight for my daughter was watching the cows eat pumpkins. I just loved how the farm structured the field trip. The farm is open to the public on weekends in September and October. Check their Instagram for the specific weekends and times. This is a family/kid centered fall activity. They have animals, mazes, playgrounds, and games spread out across the property. Come in walking shoes and spend a few hours playing with the kids. At the front of the property they have pumpkins of all sizes and colors. The pricing is reasonable on what they offer. A small concession stand offers water, soda, and packaged snacks. The only thing that would make the fall experience here more fun would be some fall foods. Maybe a collaboration or food trucks on site with donuts, coffee, or ciders. Admission is reasonably priced for all of the activities they offer. All activities offered are included in the admission fee. Seniors and kids under a certain age (I believe two years) are free. A trip to Gentry's Farm is a fall must do for our family.

Nashville has an incredibly low number of toddler friendly half and full day activities, and this is one of the rare ones that is incredibly toddler friendly, but not super far away. There's kind of a weirdly high amount of religious messaging everywhere, which made us kind of uncomfortable but the actual farm was awesome for the kids, so a bit of a double-edged sword. Free parking, free entry for seniors and under 2, and $13 per person for everyone else, so this is also one of the cheaper options in the area for an outing with kids. Located a 10 min drive outside of downtown Franklin, we were impressed by how well curated the 400-acre farm is for kids. There are a selection of caged farm animals (pigs, rabbits, cows, chickens, turkey, and pigeons) for kids to view and you can also see other animals like goats lounging in other fenced areas of the farm, and we even saw a turtle in the pond! There's a 4-acre corn maze for families, and older kids, and a hay bale maze for toddlers that were both quite fun. Theres some educational and fun troughs set up for wheat and corn (almost like a craft playpen of sorts) and some outdoor games scattered throughout the area (go fish, cornhole, tic tac toe boards, etc.). There's a tractor ride (free with your admission) that we really loved which takes you through some scenic spots on the farm where we got to see baby cows and a few historic buildings on the farm, dating back to even the late 1800s. There is a putt putt area we didn't check out, but it's an astounding amount of activities that could easily fill a day. They sell pumpkins for $8, but no options to pick your own here. (The pumpkins they have already picked are extremely picturesque. There are snacks (popcorn, drinks, etc) for purchase but you can also bring your own food (which we did) and there are picnic tables where you can have lunch. One drawback: no real restrooms. There are two areas of porta potties and hand sanitizer everywhere. They are some of the cleaner porta potties I have ever been to, but are still kinda gross to me. Overall, we really liked this spot if you can tolerate the bathroom situation and all the religious stuff everywhere. Open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (one of the only farms open on a Monday) primarily in September and October. Would do this again with my niece and nephew if they come next fall, but might get repetitive if you've been before recently.

I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance because you will save time and money that way. I believe it is more expensive if you buy tickets at the front booths. They have plenty of fun family activities to do: gem mining, barrel rides, slides, kids playground areas etc. This is definitely a great spot to bring your kids for some fun in the outdoors! I love their Cedar Glade Trail was a nice little walk for our family and we got to see all the adorable animals! They had Racoons, emu's, goats, capybaras, prairie dogs and red foxes! They also have a bunch more animals towards the front for guests to see. We loved the peacocks. The aviary is a nice spot for guests to walk around and feed the birds. They also had an area with a couple bunnies for guests to pet. There's plenty of other animals they have but it would much to long to mention them all! You pull up and there is ample parking right outside the farm. We were greeted by one of the Wilson's children (added that nice family feel) where we purchased admission. $10- they take cash, card and Venmo. From there you have fresh kettle corn being cooked and bagged, and a nice size area to purchase pumpkins and other goodies. You can hop on the tractor and take a ride around some of the property or they also had a little 'train' for the kids - super cute. The corn maze is straight back from the entrance - it's huge and you can get lost - take note of the aerial photo at the entrance . When you come out, if you start to head back where you came, you'll see a wildflower path up ahead, was a nice stroll up through there, and wraps you back around to another pumpkin patch. That's where the 'action' takes place... cannon and slingshot action! Here you can pay for a slingshot or cannon experience; we did both. Slingshot was fun, mini pumpkins - $1 for 2 shots and you totally get that 'pull back far far far sitting on the ground experience' - loved it! The cannon - well- I loved the power in between my hands!! That sucker shot a NICE distance. This was $2/shot or $5 for 3. Well worth it!!! We didn't carry cash on us, so after grabbing a wagon/cart up front (there a few to use - or bring your own!) we grabbed a variety of pumpkins in the field - ghost, green, orange, etc... then we ended up paying for the cannon experience when we purchased the pumpkins. Things to note: Bathrooms on site, cards accepted, pumpkin patch, kettle corn, tractor rides, cannon and slingshot, corn maze, 'train' for the kids. I spotted some fire pits, might be able to use those as well, just ask! We spoke with Lynn (Mrs. Wilson) and learned all about the farm. She and her family really put their heart into this and you can tell. This farm has been in Mr. Wilson's family since the 1800s!! Cannot say enough good things about this Farm and how kind the entire Wilson family is. Bring the family, go with friends, fly solo - whatever, just do it!

Our daughter lives in Middle TN and we live in Knoxville so planning the wedding we thought would be tricky. Thanks to Amber and the staff at Fiddle Dee Farm it was seamless. Amber was so helpful on our planning visits and being able to use Lauren as our photographer worked out wonderfully. The morning of the wedding we arrived at 10am and the venue was all set up just as my daughter wanted!! Amber even went out and cut some wild flowers to add an extra touch. The day was wonderful we did not have to worry about a thing just enjoy the day. The ceremony and reception were perfect!! Amber worked so hard behind the scenes making sure everything was perfect. Our guests kept commenting on how beautiful the venue was and what a great time they were having. At the end of a great day, our daughter who is a type one diabetic, had a very low blood sugar. Amber jumped right into action got her a Sprite and a sandwich and packed up some food for the bus and placed in the hands of a family member. I can't say enough about this venue!!! All the veggies and produce found here are grown at their farm in Elkton, KY. Their booth is located in the outdoor grocery area. You can't miss them, Just look for all the amazing pumpkins stacks! We walked away with one giant pumpkin, one small squash, that my son wanted, and two bushels of dried corn for decoration. We got the huge pumpkin for only $18 and our total was only $28 for everything. Halloween is just around the corner, so get those Jack-o-lanterns ready!
