Great ladies working today! Stopped for gas, and we were a bit hungry being on the road for several hours. HH (hungry Hubby) loved the huge corn dogs I on the other hand ADORED the MEGA CHEESE PIZZA!! ... so much so that I went back in for a second one! I won't need to make dinner tonight LOL. After having lunch at Denny's, I dropped by Flying J Travel Center next door. They are both under the same roof. I had used the women's washroom, which is also shared between the two businesses. It was clean and nicely maintained. It was my first time at a Flying J. There used to be one at Highway 27 and Albion Road in Etobicoke that I passed by often. It has since changed over to a Shell station. I loved being at the gas station with an incredible store. I wouldn't even say that it was a convenience store. It was far better! I have never seen so many hot dog varieties in my life, including a limited Nashville hot variety. The iced tea varieties were also cool. I appreciated an unsweetened version. You also had sweet and citrus. I do enjoy looking at beverages. I was happy to see Arizona and Snapple drinks. There was also beer. The phone accessories and electronics were amazing. I picked up a USB C cable that splits such that you can listen to audio on one side and continue charging your device with the other side. As convenient as it is these days to have wireless earbuds, when they lose their charge, you lose your audio. Especially when I'm travelling, I'd rather have this setup with corded earbuds and a means to charge your phone when your phone does not have a headphone jack. It was a nerdy find, but such a cool one. You can also choose from a wide assortment of CB radios. It was great looking at them, as it was all new to me. I also invaded the pork rinds section. I picked up a bag of chili lime ones, which I snacked on right up until I boarded my plane from Detroit to Toronto. They were delicious. Thanks, Turkey Creek! The man at the counter was nice. I paid for my items with a credit card. All went well. He asked me if I needed a bag. Nope, I was okay without one. I thanked him and left with my purchases. I enjoyed my brief visit. We were greeted with a friendly welcome at the door as we stopped by for a quick break from interstate driving. The restrooms were a bit of a mess, and gas is two cents more expensive than the station across the road, but I'd stop here again for the friendly service and familiar brand. read more

I was getting gas at 5:30 this morning and when I pulled up one of the employees was cleaning a gas pump. I've never seen anyone clean one of these things. Let me tell you he was going to town on it, not just some little wipe down. I pulled up and pumped my gas, which took a couple of minutes, and was getting ready to drive off, when I noticed that he was still cleaning that same pump. The face of it, the gauges, buttons, pump handle, even the full length of the hose. Very impressive! I went over and thanked him for his efforts. His name is Anthony, and he did some nice work! Staff a propane person!!!!!! I'm local, I visit this place only as a last resort and only for propane. HERES THE ISSUE they almost never staff a person who is certified for propane. People are off on Friday Saturday Sunday, heaven forbid you have a person who can actually accommodate a service that you provide. Go across the street to shell. At least you know you can do an exchange. read more

This is a good stop off along the way. Super clean, large selection of delectable treats, great management, and super tight crew. They have this jam on lock and they are rocking it on the daily it seems. Smooth seas ahead. Really enjoyed my brief visit. When I travel the same path, I'll be sure to pop back in. They need to learn to keep bathrooms clean parked here for over 12 hrs and bathrooms never cleaned in that time they were disgusting.

Duuuude, if you are driving down I-40 and need to take a pit stop, you can't do much better than the Flying J in Fairview. They have reasonably cheap gas and a LOT of pumps to get it from. They have a full store inside to look around in...snacks, drinks, touristy items, and practical items that truckers (or travelers) on the go might need. They also have a Country Market restaurant that serves some home cookin meals like your mom-n-em used to make. And I assume they have a lot of conveniences for truckers...like a separate area to fuel up, showers, etc. Open 24 hours so stop in anytime and get back on your road trip to wherever! read more

I love this place! All the Pilots are going to fresh ground coffee and that the only choice for decaf. I love Flying J coffee. It's my all time favorite coffee, believe it or not. This location has the usual drip from the preground beans, and I LOVE it. I hope they never change!! The people are friendly. It's usually clean. I can't say enough that I really like it here. My family and I made a trip to Nashville from Mississippi this past weekend. On our way back, we stopped at Flying J #720 in Fairview, TN for a restroom break and for purchases. When we got home, I was horrified- I LEFT MY WALLET IN THE RESTROOM in Fairview! I called immediately and spoke with Dave. He had my wallet. He put it in their safe and asked me to speak with the manager, Mr. Vines in the morning about having it shipped to me. The next day, I called Mr. Vines. He verified my identity, packaged, and shipped my wallet to my home. He even refused to take any payment from me; saying, "I just thank you for stopping in my store". I received my wallet today. I'm so appreciative that there are still good, honest, and decent people out there. You'll find quite a few at store #720. Thank you so much! read more
