I stopped by Flying J travel center on my way to and from Chicago for a bathroom break. I have always liked Flying J because the gas station prices are reasonable and they have a huge selection of products in the convenient store. It is a huge facility and the staff are super friendly and nice. They have a Denny's or a restaurant in the facility, which is always a plus. I did not visit the Denny's this time around, but on my next trip to Chicago, I may stop by the Denny's if I am in the mood. The coffee selection and beverage selection is on point. The travel center is clean and efficient. Overall, Flying J is a great rest stop on 65 North if you need a bathroom break or stop to fill up on gas. They have everything you need to get you going! read more

#36/2023 Other than a gigantic parking lot this flying J really does not stand out at all. It's been up and down and up and down many many times employee-wise cleanliness wise. Like any other flying J it's a travel center it has car amenities it has diesel truck amenities. There's showers TV room etc However employee morale is not always the greatest here. Some here you can see are clearly just working for the check they don't care if they do a good job or not. I would say two out of the three shifts aren't bad but there is one shift that sucks. They're some are grumpy and grouchy they're not very friendly at al. asked them to do something it's like pulling teeth. They want to make every excuse for why it's right when it's clearly wrong. I've come in here many times the coffee bar is not stock properly been a whole lot of other things but I'm just leaving it a two stars because it's just a little below a lot of the other flying J's. Their food on the weekends they do not run the full hot bar kind of stuff or the soup bar and oatmeal like some do But there is a decent Denny's in here so that makes up for a little bit of the food choices. read more

I drive out of my way to get propane and they told me they don't do propane on weekends. So frustrating. They should post that.

Been to a lot of travel centers over the years off of many highways. This one sticks out. This has to be the cleanest truck stop I have ever seen. The other yelpers got this right. My only real gripe was the ATM was down. Everything else was pretty standard and they had a decent Dennys. As always watch your kids in these kinds of places. They are huge with lots of people coming in and out. read more

I pull up on an empty tank, pop the tank and get out to see a tiny typed note that says- SORRY out of gas (On all of the pumps). That was not useful, funny or cool in my opinion.... Anyhow, I went across the street to Pilot. Pilot, Flying J and Mobil have all had the same gas prices every time I stopped. read more

Yea it's clean and everything but one of the cashiers thoroughly pissed me off this morning...I'm waiting to be served, I step up and the cashier holds up her finger and tells me to wait a second...I waited there for about a minute and half...she never addresses me afterwards...all to find out she's talking to another employee about showers and I just wanted a sandwich...it's a shame that another staff member had to say sorry...and as soon as I move from her register she takes the customer after me...I was never rude or anything... read more

Just a quick pit stop here. Clean ladies room. Clean floors throughout the travel shop. Spacious parking lot with RVs, cargo van expediters, and TT ST drivers. Friendly but not pushy or screamingly loud (ie WELCOME! And you're jumping out of your skin ) staff. Busy location. Pilot is across the street but my fiancé stayed he made this his go to stop even if only topping off the tank when he dropped be solo. I'd recommend this truck stop for wha I reviewed. Maybe next time I'll check out the hot deli or restaurants there read more

Don't ever have the pizza!!! I had food poisoning. I called to speak to a manager to tell them about how awful their pizza was, 3 other people in my family became ill from their food the sane day, and the managers response was "oh, only 3 people. We will have someone else contact you" Clearly not following food safety, don't eat here, ever. read more

I often drive between Chicago and Indianapolis and I always stop here to refuel. This station consistently has the lowest prices along I-65, even lower that the Costco in Merrillville, where you have to be a member to pump. I'm taking off one star because half the time, the machine will say "see cashier for receipt" and you have to step inside the horrendous truck accessory emporium that is the shop. read more

Through a misunderstanding, my charge card was charged $150.00. I am not wealthy so this really hurts. I guess this place uses this amount as a hold to verify funds before you fuel. Most stations charge $1.00. That's not why I gave 5 stars. I gave this rating because of the customer service I received afterwards. I don't as furious that I was charged $150.00 and had not pumped a milliliter of gas. I spoke with a manager right away. I was fuming. I would have asked me to leave if i was in her position. She didn't. She stood there and accepted that I was a real jerk, She overlooked that. She called her corporate office for advise and was given an explanation that didn't appease me. She called corporate again ( both times on her phone). This time we spoke with the credit officer. By the end, although I wasn't made whole yet, I was made happy with the customer service I was provided. I am ashamed that I went in angry. read more

Just stopped here on our way home because we thought it would be nice and clean. I went to use the women's restroom and there was no soap. They had 4 dispensers and all were bone dry. Completely unacceptable. I told the cashier and he said he knew. They didn't have any soap. Well, you know what, you go buy some then. I will never stop here again. read more

Disgusting bathrooms first off, Awful Customer service from the cashiers. You can tell the cashiers have a fake customer service voice and are talking through their teeth with fake politeness. Asked to talk to a manager and they called their GM named Todd up to the front. This guy appeared to be intoxicated on cocaine. His eyes darted back and forth like crazy and he had white residue under his nose and on his mouth which is why i assume he was on cocaine. He did the same fake customer service voice and offered no actual help so i just left. I'll never go back to this place... read more
