This Flying J has clean bathrooms. But that's the only good thing we experienced today. I used to live in the area and have likely been there 100s of times. Today we were on an already super long trip because of snowy weather. Our stop at Flying J took at least a half hour. They stopped all fuel pumps halfway through our fill up so they could charge 20 cents more per gallon. There was no hot food available inside - except for a couple of old burgers and Cinnabon from hours earlier. The selections for drinks were limited too. We will not return. Next time we pass through Sioux Falls we will stop somewhere else - anywhere else to fuel up. read more

So, if you are of dark skin, or of melanin, I would not go to this truckstop because the Denny's is subpar. Their service is probably the worst service I've ever experienced in my life and based on all the other yelpers, it seems like this Denny's is racist they have on more than one of occasions had situation's that are not of a favorable outcome with their guests. So like I said, if you're a truck driver and you're of dark skin, not Caucasian, this Denny's would not be the place for you to eat at because it seems like the waitresses don't want to serve people of dark skin, or of melanin. Agree with Greg F. about the RV parking it was the worst experience we have ever had. The RV lanes are barely big enough to pull in your rig and if there is another rig in the lane next to you there is not enough space to open the door to your RV or to swing down steps. They allow bobtail trucks (3 RV's to 10 Bobtail trucks) to park in the RV section which leave their motors running all night. It was a horrible experience and will not do that again. read more

If there's a rating below one, I would give it to this gas station. The pumps do not work after trying six different pumps. None of them worked it. The bathrooms are dirty the floors are beyond filthy. I would not recommend you bring your worst enemy to a shit hole like this please avoid at all cost. read more

Sioux Flying J is managed by nothing more than Ghetto trash. They allow bobtail trucks to park and take over the rv parking. My wife and I are RV Transporters and we never park in the truck parking area. A simple fix put up a sign stating absolutely no trucks. If you're an rv'er good luck finding a spot in the rv parking. This Flying J is pathetic along with the Dennys that's always nasty and closes early. The bathrooms and showers are usually nasty as well. Stay away or you might catch something you don't want. read more

The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is because the cashier was super nice. However, the Cinnabon girl was hateful. She was too busy fixing her hair to care about good customer service. Decided not to get the Cinnabon, put it right back on the shelf. read more

We stopped here on our road trip thinking there'd be some good food options for a quick bite. Very surprised at how busy it was. Super long lines for gas and the inside was packed wall to wall with people. The only hot food we noticed was a large variety of hot dogs/brats amid a random cinnamon bun kiosk smack dab in the middle of the entry that seemed to be a separate business. Took awhile to find the sandwiches which were up by the registers crowded with people. Only one type of sandwich was offered which looked like more bread than filling. I thought I might pick up a book for the road but they were all inspirational so I passed. We ended up stopping at Friendly's 10 miles up the road at the next exit. Much more enjoyable. read more

Paid for prime parking 1-15-2021 get there at 8:30 and all full cashier says they won't enforce the illegally parked non paying people taking up paid spots and wouldn't give my money back.. Very disappointed in this Flying J truck stop. I have used other Flying J's for years with usually good experiences. I have a Motorhome and intended to buy 60 or so gallons of gas and use their dump station. Their dump station requires a 10.00 plus tax fee for use. After inquiring about the fee I was told that it is even charged if you buy gas. Other Flying J's that I have used give you free use of the dump and I buy gas as a thank you for the service. I needed to dump (wanted less weight to haul) so I paid the fee but did not buy gas. I will seek out other places to dump and will purchase fuel elsewhere going forward. read more

Don't even stop. Stopped for diesel 5 days ago and the pumps were slow and couldn't even fill. Pumps were gelled or tanks almost empty. Bathrooms are dirty. Staff is rude and unconcerned. Stopped again today...told the attendant the pumps were slow. Don't they change filters? Staff again was rude. Told us we could go elsewhere. Speaking of...sure looks like Sioux Falls has and opportunity for a competitor for the Flying J. Option along I-29 and I-90 are nearly nonexistent for a truck stop. And what's with Cinnabon right inside the door? Only positive? They are consistent. Consistently bad. Next time we'll go the 3 miles east on I-90 to Love's! read more

this place has done a great turnaround as of May 18, 2023 with a brand new GM and his name is Jason. our waiter was Anna she was great we stopper coming here for a long time because of the poor service but Jason has done a complete turnaround with this Dennys they have a lot of waitresses now. we could tell when we walked in here there was a huge change for the better. read more

Absolutely the worst station to purchase fuel! Cannot use your credit card at the pump. Have to go in to pre-pay or it will throw a code. No way to call for help from the pump to find out what the problem is with the pump. When I went in the cashier she. said you need just to pre-pay it doesn't usually work with the credit card! read more

Do not stop here!! After a full day of driving, my husband and I fueled at this Flying J and went in to take a shower. 30 minutes later there was a pounding at the door.There stood 3 police officers. The manager had called the police and accused us of smoking marijuana. We denied and even offered the officers the authority to search us and our belongings( which they didn't) but told us that the managers Dawn Yellow eyes and KellyJo wanted us off the property. 3 officers escorted us to our truck past all the customers. It was humiliating. Corporation called, attorney for civil litigation emailed for False accusations and defamation of character. Nobody deserves to be humiliated and paraded around like they did us. I'm so fed up with ALL the big corporation travel plazas now. Giving our business to the smaller truck stops. They know how to treat you good. read more

It's great but I don't understand why there are NO TRASHCANS in the lot , only near the fuel pumps and building. Sioux Falls is a pretty nice area and this truck stop is just going to contribute to the trash if they don't put some trash cans down. There are ways to keep them from blowing away. they need more trash cans so people don't throw their trash on the ground and it blows all over the place. read more

The fat red haired cashier was incredibly rude. She made fun of the fact I was annoyed that I had to pre pay inside because their card readers don't work properly and I couldn't just pump gas and then pay inside. If I could give zero starts I would. Can't believe how incredibly rude and disrespectful she was. Disgusting. You should tell your customer service representatives to learn some manners. Denny's is a good truck stop restaurant that may not be a 5-star joint, but I give it 5 stars. In the last few months, I've eaten here about 5 times, ordering the Santa Fe Skillet, Chorizo-Chicken Skillet, Steak and eggs, Tilapia Ranchero, and the T-bone Steak dinner. The service has been great every time and so has the food. Red-skinned potatoes come with the Santa Fe and Chorizo-Chicken skillets, but I also tried them with hash browns instead (they'll substitute at no extra charge if you ask). I also ordered pico de gallo (which I think was an extra charge) for the Santa Fe and that really gave the dish good flavor and texture, in addition to cooling the pallet from the heat of the chorizo. Ordered my steaks medium rare both times and they were cooked to perfection. This place is open 24 hours and delivers good food at a good price with good service. Can't ask for anything more. read more
