Their produce section is small but they do have enough of a variety. I can't comment on the quality of meat from here but from what I've heard, it's hit and miss. There is no bakery and all the bakery items they do carry are pre packaged and shipped in. The frozen food section also lacks variety. Customer service, from my experience, is hit and miss. They have/had a few employees who are nice and will actually talk to you while the others can barely get out a, "how are you", at the check stand. Often, there is only one cashier and a long line. The cashier will ask for help over the PA only for it to go ignored or unheard. The one and only consistent thing about this store is the smell. It hits you like a ton of bricks the second you walk in. Not sure if it's from whatever they use to clean or if it's a lack of cleaning causing it but regardless, it stinks. They really need to figure that one out. Bottom line is they benefit from being the only game in town (aside from Family Dollar). Not a problem for me because I only work here. For locals, however, they don't have a choice on where to go unless they feel like driving an hour in either direction. It's sad that companies take advantage of that instead of treating a community with the respect it should be given.

My husband and I recently had a very disappointing experience. The evening prior, we accidentally…read moreleft the store with approximately $10 worth of groceries due to a genuine misunderstanding between the two of us -- each of us believed the other had already paid. An employee was standing directly near the exit observing customers as we left, and at no point were we stopped or informed there had been an issue. The following day, we returned to the same store intending to make another purchase. While calmly asking an employee for help locating an item and shopping in clear view of staff, we were aggressively approached by a woman dressed in black, with her tied back in a braid. Rather than professionally explaining that payment had not been completed the previous evening, she immediately accused us of "stealing" the night prior and threatened to call the police for trespassing if "we decided not to pay" for our groceries from the night before, further escalating the situation even after we explained the misunderstanding and had agreed to pay for the misunderstanding. During the interaction, she began to aggressively pick up one of the grocery items and asked if that was one of the three items which we "stole." Additionally, she continued to make several disrespectful comments towards my husband and I, including: "You need to tell him to be quiet," "I am not being rude, he needs to stop arguing with me," as he was explaining the situation and responding to her threat to contact law enforcement when we had already stated we would of course pay. She continued to use foul and hostile language during the interaction while continuing to publicly accuse us, including accusing my husband of attempting to steal a shirt during that same visit despite us actively shopping and speaking with another employee. We fully understand businesses have the right to address unpaid merchandise. However, there is a professional and respectful way to handle an honest misunderstanding -- especially involving approximately $10 worth of groceries that we paid for once informed. A simple, calm conversation would have resolved the issue completely. Instead, the situation was handled with hostility, public embarrassment, accusations, and threats that were unnecessary and extremely unprofessional. As one of the few major grocery stores in Winnemucca, customers should be treated with basic professionalism and respect, even when addressing mistakes or misunderstandings. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled in the future, because the hostility and public accusations were completely unnecessary. Overall, I believe additional training in professionalism and customer de-escalation would be beneficial.

The baristas here are incredibly friendly. Sometimes you have to wait for someone to come over from the bakery, but they're always willing to call someone over if you need them. They make a lot of fun specialty drinks like the Snickers and the strawberry cheesecake if you're into that (I'm not--but I know a lot of customers around here are.). They do different discounts almost every day so you can often score a deal, and if you buy ten drinks you get one free. The baristas are always happy to make you just what you want. They have oat milk and a lot of flavor options which makes things really customizable. I am pretty impressed with this little place.

Nice choice of foods, and also a well stocked Ace Hardware. The evening near closing was a bit understaffed the night we went, but the staff was helpful and I found the unusual part I needed!! Also stopped by in the morning to grab a few items for the road. Staff again were helpful, and the prices were inexpensive. The store is clean, sidewalks free from debris. Would recommend to others and use again, if i am ever in Winnemucca again.
