On Thursdays it's open until ten pm. Why just on Thursdays? Here's a bit of local culture to answer that question. Linden has a large number of Holdeman Mennonites. These are a very conservative branch of the Mennonite Church communities. There is little tolerance for the sorts of things that teenager boys and girls tend to want to do. However, on Thursday nights High Seas is an acceptable place for young Holdemen Mennonite boys and girls to sit together and meet each other. Hence the reason for the late closing time on Thursdays. However you definitely don't need to be a Holdemen Mennonite to eat here or enjoy the fine coffees. They source many of the ingredients locally whenever possible so you can enjoy very good food made with the freshest of ingredients. Just don't come on Thursdays hoping to meet a Holdemen girl unless you are a Holdemen yourself. That sort of thing is frowned upon. Today I tried the on line ordering system and it worked well. I received a text message to say that my order was received and what time it would be ready. I ordered a feature item which was the burrito. It's kinda like a burrito made like a panini. I quite enjoyed it. I think that most people would enjoy it too.

I'm towing a small trailer and still found street parking nearby. It might be harder to find parking on weekdays, but I don't really know. My coffee was delicious. I drink it black so I know a good coffee when I taste it. My breakfast panini was surprisingly good. It was pre-made, but was still better than most. Maybe it was the sausage meat inside but it was really good. The staff were fast and friendly. The cafe was pleasantly quiet which I sure enjoyed. Overall I couldn't have expected anything better.

The soup was wonderful and thick. I can assure you that this soup didn't come from a can. It was cabbage soup with a few perogies thrown in for good measure. The sandwich was partially my own creation because you choose all the ingredients of it from the bread type to the condiments (I had horse radish, mustard and sauerkraut). There's password protected WiFi to help catch up on the latest stuff on your phone. Inside is tastefully decorated with murals and other things to keep you busy. The washrooms are downstairs so that might be an issue for anyone who is mobility challenged. This is a place where I definitely will return to if I pass through Sundre again.
