Vinny did an amazing job putting my dedication to my grandparents and ideas together making a beautiful tattoo! I could not be any happier! I highly recommend him!

WORST PLACE EVER TO DO A TATTOO. DO NOT TRUST AKIRA / AK WORK I went to this place to retouch my previous leg tattoo that I had. At first they seemed really friendly ppl but I was so wrong. I meet this new artists named Akira or AK, she said that she can do the work. The day of my appt came and I asked her what colors she is gonna use in my tattoo she said I'm gonna do in between pink and purple because those colors are already there, yeah right. She used a color red and blue to paint the roses without even asked me if I like it or not, I couldn't even see the tattoo until after she finished because I was laying down. I was trusting her with her "job" but I did a big mistake trusting this "artist". I talked to her about my problem about having a red tattoo and she wasn't empathetic or kind at all, she didn't even care, she said that she can change the color in 2 weeks but it's gonna cost me 100$ more, I already paid 320$ for that retouch tattoo. I went the next day to talk to the manager but he didn't care either he cut me off when I was talking to him and he call AK to talk to me. They didn't gave me any solution other than charge me more for something that was AK mistake because she did wherever she wanted in my leg without even ask me once. I love tattoos but this one that she did it in my leg is the worst tattoo ever. I couldn't even say anything the same day of the appt because I was panicking and I explained that to her but again she didn't care at all. They care about money no about their clients. She was so creepy asking me question like to at what gym I go to and what time, what town I live. She posted pictures of my legs on her public Instagram "Akira.art" without even ask me for my permission. She is so unprofessional, she clearly doesn't know how to work with colors, colors in the tattoo doesn't even match at all. she is not empathetic with clients. This is a nightmare with this tattoo. Never coming back again. PPL STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE and specially from AK AKIRA. THESE PPL ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY.

Piercing - i went in as a walk in looking to buy a piece of jewelry. Last minute i asked Jason if he would have time to pierce my nose. Jason went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. He was polite and professional. Great experience

Writing a fire review for Joe. He went above and beyond the picture I brought him. He's done three of my tattoos even before his time with Flying Tiger. When you find an artist like him you don't leave him easy. So impressed with everything he's done for me. His work is great 11/10 :)

Nose piercing

Piercing - I was really nervous to get my nose pierced. Jay was amazing! He made me feel comfortable. I didn't feel a thing and was over in less than 5 seconds! He was so professional, very personable and not only was his area spotless but the whole studio was super clean! Highly recommend Jay at Flying Tiger Tattoo for piercings!

Grandma's handwriting tattoo

I recently moved to Kensington and was looking for a new tattoo shop (my 4 other tattoos I got all at a different place). I found Flying Tiger and sent a yelp appointment request - I got a response very quickly to call in to set one up, so I did. I was luckily able to get a same day appointment which I didn't expect! I was very pleased with the whole process, the shop was super clean and everyone was abiding by social distancing/mask wearing in the waiting room. I was getting a very sentimental tattoo and Jeremy captured it perfectly. He made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. I would highly highly recommend and will be retuning for my next tattoo!

Although rude, the work was very tolerable and clean. Customer service could be more compassionate.

I wanted to get a double helix done, but since this is my first time getting a piercing that's on…read morethe upper part of the ear, I was very nervous about finding a piercer. I've heard so many horror stories of people getting their cartilage pierced, so I was very particular in where I went. Safe to say, I am so so so glad I came to Stay True. When I come in, everyone is so welcoming. They were very kind and professional throughout the whole process. And there were so many piercing choices omg. I found one that perfectly fit my vision. My piercer was so incredibly knowledgeable of what he was doing that all of my anxiety went away. He also addressed my questions with a lot of care. I'm so incredibly happy my new piercings!! My new favorite place to talk about.

I really wanted to love this place based on its reputation, but unfortunately my experience has…read morebeen disappointing from start to finish. On April 10th, I spent $785.08 on three piercings: my second lobes and a conch. Before the appointment, I showed inspiration photos and explained my vision to the person at the front, including that my long-term goal was a double conch. However, there was clearly a breakdown in communication between the front desk and the piercer. It was not until after the conch had already been pierced that I was told double conches are normally planned and pierced together. Had that been explained beforehand, I would have made a different decision. I was also unhappy with the placement of my second lobe piercings. I was wearing larger diamond studs that day, so the spacing looked fine in the mirror. Once I got home and wore hoops, I realized the second holes were placed much farther away than I wanted. The photos also show an old, partially closed hole near that area, which makes me wonder whether the piercer may have thought I already had a second lobe and placed the new one more like a third. I cannot know that for certain, but because I explained everything and showed my photos to the front desk rather than directly to the piercer, it adds to my concern that the information was never properly communicated. For the amount I paid, I expected a much more thorough consultation, better communication, and more education about placement, jewelry, and aftercare. On June 8th, I returned because I had an MRI and needed my conch jewelry replaced with a retainer. I also told the front desk that I needed my lobe jewelry downsized. Once again, that information was not passed along. After the piercer finished changing the conch jewelry and began packing up, I had to remind him about the lobes. He sighed and said he had not been told. The appointment again felt rushed. I had to ask how the retainer worked, how to put my original jewelry back in, and whether it was threaded or threadless. I was not told what material the retainer was made from, how long it should stay in, whether it was appropriate to leave in a healing piercing, or what warning signs to watch for. Because no instructions were given, I assumed it was fine to leave it in. When I later went to clean the piercing, I realized the skin had grown over the O-ring and it had become embedded in the back of my ear. When I pushed the jewelry slightly, the area began bleeding heavily. My husband had to use a flashlight while I pushed the jewelry forward hard enough for the embedded O-ring to come back through the skin. We then removed the O-ring and took the retainer out completely. I have included photos showing the retainer immediately after it was placed, the skin covering the O-ring, the bleeding, the retainer after removal, and the condition of my ear after I had to force it out. I cannot say whether the retainer was meant to be left in long-term because that was never explained to me. That is exactly the problem. I should not have had to guess how to manage a healing cartilage piercing after paying a professional studio to change the jewelry. After spending nearly $900 between the original piercings, jewelry, downsizing, and the retainer, I expected professional guidance and confidence that my piercings were being handled correctly. Instead, the retainer became embedded, I had no choice but to remove the conch completely, and I now have to let the area heal before it can be repierced. I lost the piercing and the hundreds of dollars I spent on it. After everything that happened, I felt I had no choice but to write this review.
