My daughter almost missed her graduation as a result of negligent credit evaluation even though it was reviewed by three different people. Certainly, there are a few gems here, however, you have to look hard and it may not be worth the time, frustration, or expense to try to find them. Try Central Washington University instead. It is exceptional by comparison.

The professors that I've had so far have been super helpful and also super caring. The cost to come to WVC isn't expensive as going to a university. You can get so much help with financial aid and other departments here at Wenatchee Valley College.

The sense of family and close knit community is felt from the teachers to the administration to the other families. Her teachers have all been nurturing and caring and go the extra mile to communicate with us. The interaction between the elementary and the secondary students is amazing as well. We were unfamiliar with the classical education prior to coming to the River Academy, but now we see what a dramatic difference it makes in the overarching picture of our students academic career. So happy we chose this school and look forward to many more years as a River Regent family!

In the bumping town of Cashmere, there exists a high school, Cashmere High School. The school has a…read moremarching band. On warm summer evenings just before classes start up for the year, the music of the marching band can be heard wafting through the streets surrounding the school. When I visit my uncle at that time of year we like to sit outside on a patio, and the sounds of the marching band provide a real-life soundtrack in the background. The campus is nice, with a large parking lot provided right outside the front entrance. When I visited the campus on-foot one Saturday, a bus for sports was waiting for athletes. There was ample space to load/unload and abundant open parking for the student-athletes. The campus is tucked a little off the main road(s) in Cashmere, which is nice for reducing background noise and distractions during class.

Each driving instructor here is kind, calm, and honest, at the end they want you to pass. They will give you pointers on where you did well and where you can improve. I highly encourage anyone who is looking to get their drivers license to do it through this organization.

LG Driving School in Chelan WA, was very helpful for me in obtaining my driver's license. While driving, the instructors had great patience and answered any questions. The teachers were kind, attentiveness, and caring. Even after obtaining my license, they were available for any questions and additional lessons. I would highly recommend the LG Driving School and I am glad they are located in the Chelan community.

On the hot days of summer, Howard Hopkins Memorial Pool is a great place to come and swim a few…read morelaps or splash around as an individual or a family/group. During August and September, especially, when temps are in the 90s and 100s (degrees Fahrenheit) the pool is a perfect reprieve from the heat. The perfect recipe here is the hot days that are also windy. Because the pool is at the base of the Cascade Mountains it doesn't get as much natural airflow/wind normally. However, on the windy and hot days, the wind provides a cooling mechanism while sitting out on a lawn chair on the pool deck. There are some parking spots reserved for patrons of the pool in a parking lot bordering the pool. The rest of the lot is open to everyone, so it can get a bit crammed during the summer and on busy days during prime-time tourism season in Leavenworth. If staying not too far from the pool, I would recommend walking if possible.

Pros: -inexpensive, $6 per non-resident, babies free -the water is warm, we were told the water is 86 degrees by 6am -an entire kids play area with a small slide, fountains, and a zero entry pool -a large lap swim area -plenty of space outside the pool to put your stuff -indoor lockers for a quarter -a couple showers in locker rooms Cons: -didn't see a baby changing station anywhere -the showers were pretty gross with handfuls of hair and old abandoned soap -lockers are small, maybe enough room for a towel or purse (not both) -lap pool is very warm, warmer than the kids area, so my friend couldn't do more than two laps without feeling very uncomfortable

Craig and Jori were a pleasure to work with and we were able to do as much (or a little) as we were comfortable doing, while not being made to feel dumb. I cannot recommend the glassblowing experience at Boulder Bend Glassworks highly enough! My husband…read moreand I have had a lot of cool dates but this was by far the most engaging, interesting, and memorable. A few days in Leavenworth provided just enough time for us to create the best souvenirs we've ever had. Glassblowing sessions are available by appointment on Saturdays and then your projects have to cool (they are over 1000 degrees!) so you get to pick them up that Tuesday or have them mailed to you. My husband was a natural but I needed a little more help- Craig and Jori were both very patient and gracious and provided all of the coaching and support needed to make sure that my project turned out- you can be confident they will work with you to ensure that you are safe and successful no matter your skill or ability level. They are always willing to step in and they have such a wealth of expertise to share- we learned so much from them and it was such a unique activity- the equipment required is thousands of dollars so it's truly once in a lifetime. In addition to the glassblowing experience, they also have a gallery of their own work available to view or purchase. All of it is gorgeous and I have a much greater appreciation for it after seeing how intensive the process is to make something small and "simple" in comparison. You have a few options of projects to choose from and they rotate by season. Jori told us that "everything tastes better out of a handmade glass" so that's what we went with this time though I'm hoping we will have the opportunity to come back and make something else in the future. This was genuinely such a great value for the experience, the products themselves, and the memory we'll talk about for years to come- an absolute must if you're in Leavenworth!
