Went here for lunch with a friend. My lavendar martini was light and refreshing. Service was good despite the place being pretty full and only having one server--still reasonably quick and friendly. It's a very cute little cafe and the mushroom tartine was amazing. They were all good but the mushroom was definitely on another level.

Excellent food! I came here for breakfast with a girlfriend and the food was delicious. I had a hot cookie dough latte. Loved it! I also had the breakfast sandwich which was amazing and their potatoes were really good too, and I'm not a huge potato eater. My friend had the French toast and it looked excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was cute inside. I would definitely go back.

This restaurant looks really nice. It looked like a nice place to hang out after work or on the weekend. I need to come back to try dining in. I got a take out and the food is amazing. The crepe with fried chicken and gravy are delicious. The fried egg with running yoke on top is the best complement to the flavors of all other ingredients in this dish. The crepe is big but I could not stop enjoying it.

Tim is an amazing chef, we live in Tempe but travel a lot, always come to Foch when we are here. Best food in Tempe!

First time. Not the last. The decor is minimal, bar-esque, and full of Christmas this time of year. Greeted quickly by the bartender/server on duty. Ordered a turmeric latte, the bartenders second time making it and asked how it was. Little too much cinnamon but totally tasty. Ordered all five of the tartines! Not what I expected. Thin crisp bread with toppings. I don't know why I was expecting "tart"ines, mini tarts I guess. All in all, they were tasty. They also make their own flavored tequilas. May come back for happy hour. Cheers!

Mimosas, chicken sandwich, latte and burger all good?? How do they do it? I don't know but I'm grateful. 10/10 would recommend.

Ok this was really good. Everything we had was outstanding, including drinks. Parking isn't great and paid options only. Service was good and they had the place decorated for the holidays, the Christmas music really topped off our experience!

This place is hidden next to the asu brickyard. And I can't believe I've never been there before! The food was absolutely amazing! Especially the fried chicken crepe, I was surprised that the fried chicken was not greasy. The jalapeños jam really added great balance to the dish. Highly recommend if you love brunch.

If you get anything here, get the potatoes! They were the best breakfast potatoes I have ever had. They definitely stole the show. All the food did not disappoint. We did order 4 different coffees and unfortunately none of use liked any :/ I hate leaving a review for coffee like that but I that was my only complaint with this place. They have a cute patio and the interior is great, also amazing service!

Breakfast sandwich with turkey sausage and side of fruit

If you're thinking about trying this place, DO IT! I occasionally will order takeout and have never had an issue with the service or food. I recently got the breakfast sandwiches with turkey sausage and sides of fruit for my family and it was one of the most delicious breakfast's I've had off/near Mill Ave. the portions are great, you can tell everything is made to order and fresh. The fruit included various berries, bananas, apples, and oranges. It was apparent the fruit was cut fresh because there was zero wilting or even browning on the bananas! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Additionally we purchased some hot sauce that the gentleman work recommended and WOW! It's like Tapatio but better!!! We already used half the bottle with our breakfast. Customer service was excellent, place was exceptionally clean and the drink fridge was well stocked with great options. Thanks Foch Cafe and Bistro!!!

If you haven't discovered Foch Café & Bistro, this is your sign to go. Tucked away in a private little spot near the Brickyard in Tempe, it feels like a hidden gem you're instantly glad you found. From the moment you walk in, you're struck by the décor. Even though you're just minutes from Arizona State University, it feels like you've crossed into another zone entirely. The atmosphere gives you that warm "welcome home" energy -- or maybe even a "be my guest" experience where you feel genuinely cared for. You can dine inside or outside and still feel equally attended to. I tried the golden turmeric drink -- smooth, comforting, and beautifully presented. After exploring the menu (so many awesome choices!), I'm already planning my return visit. The duck wings are at the top of my must-try list. I also have to mention the local artwork, which adds such a soft, thoughtful touch to the space. Even the bathroom was spotless and perfectly aligned with the elevated, welcoming vibe -- I half expected an attendant to appear with a heated cloth napkin! Tim and his team have truly done a beautiful job elevating that area. Foch Café & Bistro isn't just a place to eat -- it's a place to be.

A Hidden Gem Bursting with Passion and Flavor Foch Café in Tempe is hands down the best dining experience we've ever had in the area. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like valued guests--and the experience only got better from there. Chef Tim personally stopped by our table and shared his passion for food, which was both inspiring and heartwarming. It's rare to meet a chef so genuinely invested in the experience of each diner, and his love for his craft shone through in every dish. Our server, Brandon, was absolutely fantastic. His service was friendly, attentive, and seamless from start to finish. He not only made us feel completely at home, but also gave us spot-on food recommendations--each one more delicious than the last. To top it off, he made an exceptional tiramisu martini--creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. It was the perfect cocktail to start our night. As for the food--truly next level. We started with the skewers (steak and chicken)! The skewers came with a sauce and accoutrements that made us audibly say "OMG." Whatever that sauce was, it should be bottled and sold. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was perfectly crisped and bursting with flavor in every bite. The brie burger was juicy and decadent, with a flavor profile that was elevated even further by its unique and delicious English muffin buns. And dessert? The strawberry cheesecake crepe was simply out of this world. Light, luscious, and beautifully balanced, it was easily the best dessert we've had in recent memory. Did I mention the crepe was perfectly cooked and the secret crunch in the crepe! I am still dreaming of this dessert! Foch Café is a true gem. Between Chef Tim's culinary passion and Brandon's impeccable service and recommendations, it was an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Perfect date night spot! We can't wait to return.

This little spot in downtown Tempe by ASU is close to my work and I've been wanting to check it out for sometime now....so I took the shot on Friday. This is a really cool place! Loved the decor inside. Tia was our server and she was amazing!! Super friendly and had a great smile! We got there around 11:30am and could pick between the brunch or dinner/lunch options. Started off with the Fried Pickles (also had red peppers and jalapeños) and came with a side of ranch. I went with the Duck Confit burger based on Tia's recommendation....it was amazing! So glad I went with it. The burger was seasoned and cooked to my liking. Everything was delicious. On a scale of 1 - 10, you gotta hit this place, I know I'll be back for sure! Loved it!

The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG.

We were setup in a separate dining area from the main dining room, which allowed for better conversation without added noise. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive the entire time we were there, which was a couple hours. The milk bread is an absolute must! It's so pillowy soft and the flaky sea salt perfectly compliments it. I ordered the Wise Decision cocktail, which was refreshing. For my entree, I had the shishito Caesar salad and was advised I could add a protein from their skewer selection of chicken, pork belly or oyster mushrooms. I asked the waitress about the chicken and she advised that they are smoked and will appear pink from that, so not to be alarmed, but are moist and really flavorful. While the filet was tempting (and what everyone else at my table ordered), I wanted something lighter. Thankfully I was not disappointed in my selection. The chicken was as delicious as described and could be cut with a fork. The Caesar salad was well dressed, but not soggy. Do I think it was worth the money to add the chicken? Not if I were paying, but since my company paid for it, I think it was worth it. This is a great spot for a date night or special occasion.

The most recent was…read moreon a Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. This speakeasy is located on Mill Ave., the center of Tempe's party scene. Because of its location, parking isn't easy. If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. One of my favorite speakeasies I've been to in Phoenix (and surrounding areas). I am, after all, the self-appointed king of speakeasies. The king gives his stamp of approval.

Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.
