I really wanted to love this place. Let me set off with the positives. The decor, the DJ, the seating ambience, and overall just vibes are 100%, 5/5 out of five stars. The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. I'm a little torn as I write this review. The vibe of this place is great. A few or their bites are outstanding. There's a few things missing. So let's start off with the fact that when you're seated , they disclose that this is a "90 minute experience." . My only issue is that getting your drinks and food might take 80 minutes. Great atmosphere. They have a disco ball in the middle , just like the 70s. Music is not too loud. Dimly lit, but perfect. Order your drinks right away, because ours took forever. Nothing to write home about here. The real crab Rangoon is ok but they are small. The chicken tenders are huge portions. It's like they cut a breast in half for each tender. Drop Dead Gorgeous is a 70s themed speakeasy located inside of Filthy Animal. My friend and I arrived around opening hour and got a good spot in the middle of the bar. I love the giant disco balls and the aesthetic of this place. We started with the appletini and lemongrass highball (non-alcoholic). My friend and I ended up switching drinks because we liked each other's more than our own. For the second round, we ordered the brandy spritz and primrose martini. We weren't fans of the brandy spritz, although my friend grew into it. The primrose martini was quite good, I liked it better than the appletini. For snackies, we ordered the glizzy gaunlet, which was basically a tower of carbs. It came with 5 mini dogs with milk bread, and potato wedges. There were 3 sauces, my favorite in order were the: truffle dijonnaise, kosho aioli, and korean ketchup. We enjoyed this more than the food at Filthy Animal. Although it was pricey ($22) for just carbs and hardly any protein. The milk bread was delicious and the mini dogs were pretty good too. The potato wedges were cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would I return? Probably not. The food was better than the drinks but it wasn't outstanding. read more

We made reservations next door for dinner but wished to start off at this cute 70's themed speakeasy. You cannot enter from the outside. You must go through the Filthy Animal Restaurant. I parked in the garage off if Ash which they kindly validated a 2 hour timeframe. We did not have reservations but they were able to accommodate our group of four. For reference. We arrived just as they opened at 5:00pm so we were the only group there at that time. I liked the dark atmosphere with couches and large tables for groups. They also had a decent size bar if you would like to sit at the bar instead. Sadia was our server was excellent and made several recommendations for cocktails. We had a variety of martinis and a prosecco. My dirty martini came in a coupe style glass. A little smaller than what I would call a standard martini glass but sufficient for the evening. Same with the Prosecco. It was served in a coupe cocktail stemmed glass. The bar staff were great. They brought our birthday girl a complimentary shot to celebrate her special day. It was pretty dead when we came here on a Sunday night. We came after dining at Filthy Animal for a friend's birthday and expected to have a great experience after spending thousands of dollars on dinner as a group in their private room. They seated us at a small table where our party of ten knocked knees and was so cramped when there was an empty table right across from us with much more room. Our waitress, Priscilla, took awhile to come take our orders. We were then told shortly after our first (and only) round that they were closing soon and she had to check us out. When the birthday girl mentioned that she didn't like her drink, Priscilla told us that the bar was already closed and there was nothing she could do. It was surprising that she didn't even offer to refund it as three people in our party got the same drink and all hated it. While this place is conveniently attached to Filthy Animal and does have a cool vibe to lounge post dinner, there are several other speakeasies in the valley that I think are much better (Tell Your Friends, Bar Bambino and Rough Rider, to name a few). On the bright side, I went rogue and ordered off the menu and got a paper plane cocktail, which everyone in our party agreed was the best tasting and most aesthetic cocktail at our table. It came with a cute paper plane attached to it that was made out of receipt paper! The bill for me and one other person was close to $50, and the expected minimum tip is 20%, but I don't think our experience justified this cost. read more

A gorgeous, yet intimate, speakeasy! Located inside Filthy Animal, DDG is a bumping bar with a large disco ball in the middle and DJ. We had to enter through Filthy Animal and a hostess was able to take us directly to the speakeasy. Definitely would recommend making reservations and to save any important conversations for elsewhere, as you'll be shouting over the music (which was pretty good the night I visited)! We didn't order any of the food and opted for cheaper/more cost-effective options, but got the Appletini and the Sesame Highball. Drinks were priced relatively fairly. The Appletini was a perfect choice for anyone who likes a sweet drink. My sesame highball came with a pepper and was a little spicy - not what I was expecting from the menu description but still a very finely curated drink. Chloe helped us and was very kind. The space is so fun! Straight out of a 1970s disco. A server came by shortly after. We asked the server to confirm the amount of mozzarella sticks that come in an order and she said one but explained that it can be shared. It sounded good so we ordered that along with two glasses of prosecco. When they brought out the mozzarella our mouths dropped. This SINGLE mozzarella was comparable in size to a standard mozzarella stick you'd find in the frozen aisle of a grocery store... and it cost $16! Diabolical. The only difference is they dressed it up in caviar and chili oil, which I will admit enhanced the overall flavor. However, the mozzarella stick itself tasted just like a typical mozzarella stick to me. Not worth $16 for one. Other than the silly mozzarella stick, we had a great experience overall. Such a groovy spot, I LOVED it!!! This hidden speakeasy is located inside Filthy Animal. Parking validated (for two hours) and available at the Chase parking garage. Reservations are recommended. We were a bit early but they accommodated us. This is also a 90 minute experience and they were pretty strict about that, so time your drinks accordingly. Our server Anna was awesome and helped me figure out which drink to start with. I choose the Brandy Spritz and really enjoyed it, the cinnamon and apple flavors really made this feel like Fall cocktail. I also tried the Appletini drink later, but it wasn't as good as the Brandy Spritz, in my opinion. My friends and I also ordered the Sexy Tendies and Dumplings. Both dishes were incredible, but the Sexy Tendies were on another level!!!!! I would eat these everyday, and recommend everyone try them, they were sooo good!!!!!! Not sure if this is the norm though. ) Once we got inside, we really liked the funky disco vibe they have going on. Very comfortable and cozy, with only room for maybe 6-8 parties at a time across tables/couches/bar seating. Cocktails were good and bartender was quick despite being by herself! Some of the cocktails are pre-mixed, but they are still fresh (if that matters to you, ask which are which). Even though it seemed like an upscale atmosphere, I did not sense a nose-up attitude. BAD GIRLS, don't let that deter you from dressing in style with your best 70s retro outfit. DDG has a DJ who plays new wave disco with an EDM vibe. The DJ didn't PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC. Sorry Dancing Queens, you are not going to hear classic ABBA or old school disco songs played, here. It's got a whole 70s disco vibe and all of that is great. Now, the not-so-great. We made a reservation for 5:00, which is the first available seating. Still, we waited for close to 20 minutes to be taken back, confusing since we were the only people there. The service was fine--not great, but fine--but given we were the only ones there, there was a LOT of waiting. Drinks were... disappointing. Surprisingly, the bar selection was not even close to what was offered at the restaurant bar out front. This is puzzling as DDG is supposed to be this "exclusive" high-end experience. Husband wanted a cocktail he'd had the night before (at Filthy Animal) but there were only rail gin options, then he had to explain--while the server took actual notes--how to make the drink he was looking for. Maybe they are still working out the kinks here. Like I said, the concept is great and the space is really cool. Quickly upon arrival, the hostess at Filthy Animal checked us in and told us to give her a few minutes. Once our turn, she walked us towards the back, past the kitchen, and through some velvety curtains. We were quickly greeted by a huge disco ball and some groovy banging music. We were taken to our table and after a seating issue with the party next to us was resolved, we were seated. The space was a little too tight as we had to move our table around just so I could get to my seat. Menus were dropped off buy the hostess and our server came over to greet us a few mins after. We decided to pass on the appetizers but we all got ourselves a drink. I ordered a "pretty decent vodka soda" and it was good. Smooth.
