Drop Dead Gorgeous is a 70s themed speakeasy located inside of Filthy Animal. My friend and I arrived around opening hour and got a good spot in the middle of the bar. I love the giant disco balls and the aesthetic of this place. We started with the appletini and lemongrass highball (non-alcoholic). My friend and I ended up switching drinks because we liked each other's more than our own. For the second round, we ordered the brandy spritz and primrose martini. We weren't fans of the brandy spritz, although my friend grew into it. The primrose martini was quite good, I liked it better than the appletini. For snackies, we ordered the glizzy gaunlet, which was basically a tower of carbs. It came with 5 mini dogs with milk bread, and potato wedges. There were 3 sauces, my favorite in order were the: truffle dijonnaise, kosho aioli, and korean ketchup. We enjoyed this more than the food at Filthy Animal. Although it was pricey ($22) for just carbs and hardly any protein. The milk bread was delicious and the mini dogs were pretty good too. The potato wedges were cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would I return? Probably not. The food was better than the drinks but it wasn't outstanding.
Located inside the filthy animal, this is such a fun, upscale speakeasy! The multiple disco balls really set the vibe. I like a sweeter cocktail so the staff recommended the appletini for me which was delightful. Given the all-around excellent service, ambience, and drinks, I would definitely recommend this place. I was able to get bar seating on a Tuesday night, but would recommend making a reservation as it fills up easily here.
Finally tried this speakeasy, and the vibe was definitely 70's disco party! Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks menu. She was extremely knowledgeable about GF options as well! Her recommendations were on point and we enjoyed everything! Took off a star for excessively loud music, but drinks were spectacular!

After a great dinner experience celebrating an anniversary at Filthy Animal, we slid over to Drop Dead Gorgeous to relax, chill & take in some more craft cocktails. Anytime you're dealing with a speakeasy, you feel like a VIP, and that's how we felt that evening. What a great way to close out the night, as the vibe and decor are what I'm all about. Do plan ahead with reservations. Our Server from FA & Bartender here hooked it up for us with a special toast and celebration for our anniversary!! VIP Treatment with the 70's to 2000's vibe. Looking forward to my return.
Such a cute and adorable place! The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the snacks were delicious! It's a 70's vibe with great music playing overhead! They are very serious about the 90 minute limit so be prepared for that! However, they are very pleasant when reminding you about the time! My girlfriends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there and we plan to return. Parking is tricky though! They do have complimentary valet parking, but it's hard to find the actually valet parking location!

While both are worth a visit, grab your reservations in advance. After dinner at Filthy Animal, Drop Dead Gorgeous was the perfect nightcap. If you visit, whatever you do, don't miss the opportunity to try the mega viral cocktail. This unique tequila cocktail highlights pisco, melon, and lemongrass in a way that pleases both sweet and sour cocktail lovers! Trust me when I say I'm coming back for this little baby has earned a spot on my next visit to Phoenix!
It was pretty dead when we came here on a Sunday night. We came after dining at Filthy Animal for a friend's birthday and expected to have a great experience after spending thousands of dollars on dinner as a group in their private room. They seated us at a small table where our party of ten knocked knees and was so cramped when there was an empty table right across from us with much more room. Our waitress, Priscilla, took awhile to come take our orders. We were then told shortly after our first (and only) round that they were closing soon and she had to check us out. When the birthday girl mentioned that she didn't like her drink, Priscilla told us that the bar was already closed and there was nothing she could do. It was surprising that she didn't even offer to refund it as three people in our party got the same drink and all hated it. While this place is conveniently attached to Filthy Animal and does have a cool vibe to lounge post dinner, there are several other speakeasies in the valley that I think are much better (Tell Your Friends, Bar Bambino and Rough Rider, to name a few). On the bright side, I went rogue and ordered off the menu and got a paper plane cocktail, which everyone in our party agreed was the best tasting and most aesthetic cocktail at our table. It came with a cute paper plane attached to it that was made out of receipt paper! The bill for me and one other person was close to $50, and the expected minimum tip is 20%, but I don't think our experience justified this cost.
We made reservations next door for dinner but wished to start off at this cute 70's themed speakeasy. You cannot enter from the outside. You must go through the Filthy Animal Restaurant. I parked in the garage off if Ash which they kindly validated a 2 hour timeframe. We did not have reservations but they were able to accommodate our group of four. For reference. We arrived just as they opened at 5:00pm so we were the only group there at that time. I liked the dark atmosphere with couches and large tables for groups. They also had a decent size bar if you would like to sit at the bar instead. Sadia was our server was excellent and made several recommendations for cocktails. We had a variety of martinis and a prosecco. My dirty martini came in a coupe style glass. A little smaller than what I would call a standard martini glass but sufficient for the evening. Same with the Prosecco. It was served in a coupe cocktail stemmed glass. The bar staff were great. They brought our birthday girl a complimentary shot to celebrate her special day. Sadia also offered to take pictures of our group. We had a great experience in part to the wonderful staff at Drop Dead Gorgeous. We will definitely be back!
I am so excited for this place in the valley and close to me. You walk in and feel like you are a celebrity in a secret VIP room. This experience is like no other! Fancy, classy, upskill and 100% customer service royalty. Thinking of a date night, ladies night, dudes night, any occasion works here. Beautiful beautiful atmosphere and amazing cocktails
A gorgeous, yet intimate, speakeasy! Located inside Filthy Animal, DDG is a bumping bar with a large disco ball in the middle and DJ. We had to enter through Filthy Animal and a hostess was able to take us directly to the speakeasy. Definitely would recommend making reservations and to save any important conversations for elsewhere, as you'll be shouting over the music (which was pretty good the night I visited)! We didn't order any of the food and opted for cheaper/more cost-effective options, but got the Appletini and the Sesame Highball. Drinks were priced relatively fairly. The Appletini was a perfect choice for anyone who likes a sweet drink. My sesame highball came with a pepper and was a little spicy - not what I was expecting from the menu description but still a very finely curated drink. Chloe helped us and was very kind. Overall, a great place for a casual night for disco/dance vibes.
Friday night at Drop Dead Gorgeous was a vibe! We werent aware it was just a 90 minute experience but it was perfect. My girls and I had such a great time the ambiance is sultry and fun and the light bites were delish. I ordered the oysters and my friends ordered the sexy tendies (we asked were they big or small and we thought they would be small but them tendies were pretty big) ( the red sauce wasnt too good!) Our server was amazing and she did such a great job checking on us and keeping our drinks full. I definitely want to come back and also try filthy animal after the 90 minute experience. My friend and I made a reservation for dinner at Filthy Animal followed by drinks at Drop Dead Gorgeous. We scheduled them consecutively. After a wonderful dinner at Filthy Animal, we returned to the hostess stand to check in for our reservation at DDG. The staff kindly escorted us over and another staff member from DDG seated us. The space is so fun! Straight out of a 1970s disco. A server came by shortly after. We asked the server to confirm the amount of mozzarella sticks that come in an order and she said one but explained that it can be shared. It sounded good so we ordered that along with two glasses of prosecco. When they brought out the mozzarella our mouths dropped. This SINGLE mozzarella was comparable in size to a standard mozzarella stick you'd find in the frozen aisle of a grocery store... and it cost $16! Diabolical. The only difference is they dressed it up in caviar and chili oil, which I will admit enhanced the overall flavor. However, the mozzarella stick itself tasted just like a typical mozzarella stick to me. Not worth $16 for one. Other than the silly mozzarella stick, we had a great experience overall. The staff was warm and welcoming. It's a cool speakeasy and def worth checking out!
I had been waiting what felt like an eternity to try out this disco-themed speakeasy! Disco balls, lots of moving lights, swanky vibes, groovy music, and attentive and intelligent servers! Love it! I started out with a cocktail - the Mega Viral! Once you try it, you will understand the name. One of the more innovative cocktails I have ever had... and I ended up having two! So delicious and an experience in itself!! We enjoyed some light bites as well - the Edamame Hummus and Shishito Peppers. Both were fantastic! I love that their menu points out which items are gluten-free... and our server even warned me that the plantain chips in the Edamame Hummus could have cross-contamination... so I very much appreciate that heads up! I opted to order them anyway and I am so glad I did - so good! And I experienced no gluten issues. Awesome! I'm already looking forward to a return trip! I really wanted to love this place. Let me set off with the positives. The decor, the DJ, the seating ambience, and overall just vibes are 100%, 5/5 out of five stars. The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG. read more
I'm a little torn as I write this review. The vibe of this place is great. A few or their bites are outstanding. There's a few things missing. So let's start off with the fact that when you're seated , they disclose that this is a "90 minute experience." . My only issue is that getting your drinks and food might take 80 minutes. Great atmosphere. They have a disco ball in the middle , just like the 70s. Music is not too loud. Dimly lit, but perfect. Order your drinks right away, because ours took forever. Nothing to write home about here. The real crab Rangoon is ok but they are small. The chicken tenders are huge portions. It's like they cut a breast in half for each tender. That was the saving grace. I like the experience. Wanted to give 5 stars , but I can't due to the "mid" experience. read more

Such a groovy spot, I LOVED it!!! This hidden speakeasy is located inside Filthy Animal. Parking validated (for two hours) and available at the Chase parking garage. Reservations are recommended. We were a bit early but they accommodated us. This is also a 90 minute experience and they were pretty strict about that, so time your drinks accordingly. Our server Anna was awesome and helped me figure out which drink to start with. I choose the Brandy Spritz and really enjoyed it, the cinnamon and apple flavors really made this feel like Fall cocktail. I also tried the Appletini drink later, but it wasn't as good as the Brandy Spritz, in my opinion. My friends and I also ordered the Sexy Tendies and Dumplings. Both dishes were incredible, but the Sexy Tendies were on another level!!!!! I would eat these everyday, and recommend everyone try them, they were sooo good!!!!!! With awesome atmosphere, food, drinks and service, I give this place a 10/10!!! Can't wait to bring everyone I know here! read more
BACK FROM THE DEAD Disco has made it's way back into the the mainstream, and it made its way into this speakeasy / lounge hybrid bar in the back of Filthy Animal restaurant. I LOVE THE NIGHT LIFE and after getting Saturday Night Fever I had to try this place out. Being inside definitely felt like a blast from the past with the disco and 70's interior design and waitresses in their themed cocktail dresses. It was like a scene from Austin Powers, Yeah baby! Groovy! Reservations are required. But not required is the disco attire. I walked in with a T-shirt , jeans, and a hat and was not low-browed. That's the Way, uh huh uh huh, I like it. Even though it seemed like an upscale atmosphere, I did not sense a nose-up attitude. BAD GIRLS, don't let that deter you from dressing in style with your best 70s retro outfit. DDG has a DJ who plays new wave disco with an EDM vibe. The DJ didn't PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC. Sorry Dancing Queens, you are not going to hear classic ABBA or old school disco songs played, here. It's not like there is a dance floor anyways, so you can HUSTLE on out of here if you were trying to SHAKE YOUR BOOTY. The mixed drinks had mixed reviews from my party. It may be a preference thing with flavor, but at least you have a 90 minute time slot to try all your heart's desire. So DON'T STOP TIL YOU GET ENOUGH. And if you skipped the main course in the dining room of Filthy Animal, you don't have to disco bawl your eyes out from the hunger pangs that set in while rushing to get here for your DDG reservation; it will be a CELEBRATION knowing I WILL SURIVE and not starve, because you can order small bites along with your drinks. THE SECOND TIME AROUND you will know better to eat beforehand. For a unique experience, you should come by. Disco is ah ah ah ah STAYIN ALIVE in Drop Dead Gorgeous. read more

After driving by this place for the last several months and curious which restaurant would take over this prime location on Mill & University where P.F. Chang's was for many years, I chose DDG & Filthy Animal for my birthday dinner. This place has a vibe for sure! Swanky 70's, yeah baby yeah! Small intimate dark venue, expertly decorated with disco balls and moving yellow and pink lights, a great appetizer menu, $10 Happy hour menu Sun-Thursday (with both drinks and appys), fabulously yummy mixology concoctions, and phenomenal service - a wonderful whole evening was had by all. Can't wait to revisit! I was happy that it was busy on a Wednesday night, but it never felt loud and we didn't have to yell at each other. It should be said we did not go when the DJ was there, as I'm sure it gets louder. -- We also had a stellar dinner at Filthy Animal, which was also an unforgettable experience and I will review separately. Oh. My. God. We loved this place! We had so much fun the bartender was amazing, we sat at the bar so we were watching while she was making drinks and she had so much energy and it just made the visit that much more entertaining. My first drink was a penicillin it was crisp and delicious, my man loved his manhattan, I then had a lemon drop martini- perfection, it is hard to find someone that gets that sweet / tart combo perfect and they nailed it. The disco theme is fun and the disco ball helped the vibe, dj was playing great music. Enter through filthy animal, i recommend making a reservation, we saw them turn a couple away. Awesome speakeasy inside filthy animal. We made reservations and it was seamless. The drinks were yummy and the vibe was great. Speakeasy so of course limited space so reservation encouraged. Mocktail wasn't my fav so I'd ask for a different one next time. Service was also great and checked on us often. I'd come back here! read more

We had dinner at Filthy Animal and then wanted to have a cocktail at the hidden bar inside the restaurant- drop dead gorgeous. I'm so glad we did. I loved it. It's a retro, disco themed bar that is so pretty. With a huge disco ball that is so nice. I love disco balls and the light it refracts. The vibe is on point, decor is gorgeous, and I had one of the best clarified cocktails ever. The bartenders are friendly and quick with making craft cocktails. This is a very cool bar, and I'll be back to try other drinks and some small bites since they serve food also. read more

This place was a lot of fun. I had dinner at Filthy Animal about a week ago and I had no idea this place was right inside of it. Quickly upon arrival, the hostess at Filthy Animal checked us in and told us to give her a few minutes. Once our turn, she walked us towards the back, past the kitchen, and through some velvety curtains. We were quickly greeted by a huge disco ball and some groovy banging music. We were taken to our table and after a seating issue with the party next to us was resolved, we were seated. The space was a little too tight as we had to move our table around just so I could get to my seat. Menus were dropped off buy the hostess and our server came over to greet us a few mins after. We decided to pass on the appetizers but we all got ourselves a drink. I ordered a "pretty decent vodka soda" and it was good. Smooth. We decided on just ordering one round of drinks as the music got to be a little too loud and we couldn't really have a conversation. The music selection was good though! Such a cool vibey place with great music. It was a bit too loud when I stopped by with friends but the tunes were good. It was really busy but the server checked up on us a few times. Cocktails at the disco! Located behind the kitchen at Filthy Animal, we were transported to a 70s themed speakeasy. Our waitress Anastasia was fabulous, and the cocktails were delicious. They offer light bites, but we didn't have any because we dined at Filthy Animal beforehand. This bar would be perfect for an intimate party or simply grabbing drinks before hitting the town. I loved the mezcal drink "Agave & Stone". The prices were reasonable and I will most definitely be returning to Drop Dead Gorgeous! read more
I was planning out a little staycation for our 25th wedding anniversary in Tempe. I always look for places that offer a unique experience, unusual drinks and chill vibe. Making memories is always a top priority. In my search I found Drop Dead Gorgeous for our after dinner drink spot. It did not disappoint. This place is simply amazing. It is not easy to find but being aware of the general area I checked in at Filthy Animal and we were immediately taken back and seated at the bar. It was a Saturday night about 8 pm so we were fortunate to find a spot as I'm sure this place gets busy. Rightfully so. Stepping in is like a time warp. Super unique lowlighting, great music and a vibe that was exactly what I was after. The service here is 2nd to none. The staff is super knowledgeable and very friendly. My wife had an appletini and loved it so much she ended up having a couple. We also ordered the sexy tendies and crab rangoon both were very good. The sauce variety and quality was spot on. The DJ playing was incredible. Mixing a variety of jams like a boss. The music plays at just the right volume to really enjoy it without having to shout conversations. Great tunes, exceptional service and a drink menu you will not find anywhere else. What else can you ask for? Made reservations. Was seated quickly, service was great. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable. The drinks were exactly what was described. The ambiance was great, music was perfect. It wasn't too loud but not too soft. I've been to another "speakeasy" where they played the music so loud you were yelling. The one thing we ordered was good, not great. Could be a bit more on the hot side for the mozzarella, it would have been better had the cheese been a bit more melted. Good little spot for a drink. read more

Such a fun and cute speakeasy located inside Filthy Animal. Staff was great so nice! From the hostess at the door to the girls inside DDG. We were just here for a drink. My friends got the coffee no cream and I got the fashionably late. I got to try their drinks and it was delicious. I have this on my list to visit when I'm back in town! read more
