First she made me wait an hour past my appointment time, even after I told her I have a 1 year old with a bed time approaching... Then she told me I don't matter because I am a car accident patient paying on a lien rather than cash... Then she said she wouldn't do an adjustment and said I was only there for a consultation, then proceeded to sound out consultation as if she we're teaching a toddler the word... Then she tried to give me the "layman's" definition as if I only had a 2nd grade education... Then she told me to look up the definition... Then she proceeded to talk about the C9 vertebrae, which doesn't even exist!! She also said maybe I didn't understand the receptionist because I don't know English and should take an ESL class!!! Needed a chiropractor for new back issues (scoliosis), found this one with decent ratings and near my home. I really expected more for the $60 fee that I was charged. I was told it would be a consultation and examination and treatment for my problem. All I got was my neck cracked by the doctor, then she tried to crack my shoulders and did nothing but hurt them. Then she tried the same with my knees as well and I felt like it might have hurt my bad knee. I did not go there for my knees. I went there for my back. And then she would ask me questions about my condition and as I was answering she was already cutting me off to talk about herself or her thoughts on the matter. Conclusion: this doctor did not pay attention to my problems, cracked my neck, then went on to try to crack my shoulders and knees only to hurt them. And that was the end of the "treatment." And then I tried to ask how often I should see her to continue my treatment she said "whenever you feel you need to". ??? No guidance, no direction, and just no good! I had an appointment at 1030a, got there at 1020 in case of paperwork. On the door said , call to enter, I called and was put on hold, 5 minutes past and a person walks up and calls, the lady on the other side said, I'll let you right in. I hung up and called back, lady said , oh sorry I'll let you in. No biggie. I go in and check in and I was handed a half an inch of papers to be filled, this took me 10-15 min. I turn it in and waited. At 1050, the lady said that'll be $75. I asked if it'll take another 20-30 minutes to see the Dr, she said, people never really see the doctor on time. I agree a 100%, but not 50-60 min after your appointment. I told her I was upset at that point and I left. I'm retired and see several doctors,(dentist,general, cardiologist,etc.), I see them within 1-15 min of the appointment. Paperwork is either done on line or asked to come in early to fill them out. The guy that walked in with me mentioned his appt was the same as mine at 1030, are you people double booking? There was 5 people in the small reception area, they're not even staggering patients to lessen contact of Covid 19. Since retiring, I've been a little more patient, but to wait 50-60 min after an appointment is ridiculous! read more

I hardly "yelp" about my experiences but Dr. Alzate LITERALLY changed my life. I know this statement sounds drastic and dramatic but it's true. I first went due to an injury in an auto accident though I've had back pain and discomfort for many years. It was so bad that I couldn't stand for to long nor sit for to long. If I wanted to lay down in bed - it was a whole process due to the pain (for just laying down!!!) I couldn't do certain activities for the same reason but it never occur to me to ever go to a chiropractor. It came to the point where I simply didn't trust my body because I was always scared that it would hurt therefore limiting myself in a lot of things (I am only 27) it would personally bring me down. So the accident was a blessing in disguise, after a few treatments and consultations with Dr. Alzate I quickly started to notice the difference: Less pain (now NO pain) the discomfort is gone, I could now lay down with out experiencing any pain (pure joy) She gave me recommendations and exercises not only for a "quick fix" but to do for the rest of my life, for a better life. I recently had a sprained lower back from working out and having gone to Urgent care twice and seeing no real remedy, I decided to go the route of visiting a chiropractor. I heard about Focus Chiropractic Center here on Yelp, and with its glowing reviews, scheduled an appointment. The whole process included an alignment and diagnosis with Dr. Alzate, a therapeutic massage, and an electric current massage to finish the session. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed throughout. Hands down, Dr. Alzate was the most knowledgeable, kind, and professional person I have met recently in the field, and I was continuously blown away by her sincerity and dedication to her craft. She explained how my injury was caused by lack of proper stretching and explained muscle by muscle how to prevent it from happening again. Literally, my mouth dropped a couple times not knowing how the simple things I do on a daily basis affect my back health. The staff were also kind and very efficient, the massage therapist was great and got rid of all the tension that was forever an issue in my back. Terrible. I am having neck problems and found a Groupon for this office. I figured I'd try it out without spending a fortune, and then go back and pay full price if I was happy with the experience and result. When I called to make an appointment, the lady was able to fit me in today, which was fantastic. Then as soon as I mentioned I had a Groupon, there was no availability for the coming 10 days. Way to lose a potential patient. Judging from the reviews, they would have more than likely signed me up as a full price patient after the Groupon appointment. Treating a Groupon customer as a 3rd rate customer is unacceptable. If you don't want to deal with Groupon customers, don't participate in Groupon. read more

I saw Dr. Alzate over about 6 months while I was pregnant. I got chiropractic adjustments and massage. She and her staff were all very friendly. I wish the massages lasted longer as they were only about 10 minutes, but they were pretty good. No real complaints. It was my first time using Groupon and decided to treat myself to a massage. I checked their yelped reviews, which were all 5 stars, and decided to purchase it. The next day I booked an appointment and they immediately asked if I had a Groupon, I confirmed that I did and they immediately changed their pleasant tone of voice to annoyed "make sure you bring your voucher." I called to ask what their cross streets were and informed them i had booked a massage and the receptionist said: "Our cross streets? You have the wrong number" and hung up. I double checked to see if in fact I had the wrong number. But it wasn't wrong. So I called back and and asked for their address instead. The same person answered and was able to give me their address. When I got there i was not welcomed in. Not even a simple hello. It was pure technical. They asked for my ID and Groupon voucher. The supervisor said "You're here for the massage?" I confirmed and she walked away. Super strange! I was then directed to a room by the receptionist and was told the massage therapist will be right in. Who walks in to the room 5 minutes later? The receptionist! I thought it was a joke. I asked if she's the massage therapist and she said she was. I asked if since it's mainly a chiropractic center that if they also perform massages frequently and she they only do massages through Groupon. Their chiropractic services might be 5 star worthy, but not their massages. Getting a massage there is like getting a massage in your dentists office. The room is way too bright, cold there's screaming in the next room and it simply feels awkward. Look elsewhere!! read more
