Long story short, tummy time was a huge struggle for my baby. He completely refused to be on his stomach. I later found out that he was diagnosed with an abdominal hernia. We were referred to physical therapy, but despite attending sessions, I didn't feel like there was much progress. I became extremely anxious because I could tell how uncomfortable my son was all the time. On top of that, he was dealing with eczema, and it broke my heart to see him not meeting his gross motor milestones on time. That's when I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Kolleen, and I truly wish I had seen her sooner. She was absolutely amazing with my son and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. The way she engages with her patients and communicates with parents immediately puts you at ease. She spent about an hour with my son during our first visit, and just a few days after that single session, my son finally rolled onto his tummy and was able to tolerate it. We continued seeing her, and after each session I noticed how much more comfortable my son felt in his own body. The relief I felt as a parent was indescribable. After a few sessions, my son began crawling. I couldn't be more pleased and grateful for Dr. Kolleen. I cannot say enough amazing things about focus chiropractic. My family has been going here for over 3 years. I have received prenatal and postpartum care throughout two different pregnancies and both of my daughters have received pediatric care here. Both of my deliveries resulted in very fast pushing, which I credit to my wonderful pelvis that was worked on by Doctor Richard. He has also helped me tremendously through two postpartum periods and is so knowledgeable about the changes that women's bodies go through from pregnancy, labor, and into the postpartum stage. He gives an amazing adjustment and I always feel immediate relief. My first daughter received care here in order to avoid having to wear a helmet. She was getting a flat head and both Doctor Kolleen and Doctor Richard worked on her and helped shape and mold her head and gave me exercises to do with her at home. I really appreciate the relief Dr. Kolleen was able to bring me in the third trimester of my pregnancy. I was seeing a physical therapist to help with sciatica but I was still in intense pain from SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction), which I had never heard of until it happened to me. I had difficulty getting dressed, getting out of the car, and with a lot of other activities of daily living due to the pain I was feeling. I reached out to some local mom groups on facebook for help and kept hearing about Dr. Kolleen when it came to SPD. So thankful for their recommendation because Dr. Kolleen was able to alleviate pain when no one else had been able to help me. Whenever I had an appointment with her the SPD and sciatic pain was so much more manageable for several days; by the end of my pregnancy I tried to go in every week. My back also felt a lot better after going in. Dr. Kolleen definitely knows all the areas that are painful for pregnant women carrying a big baby. I wasn't able to use my insurance, UHC, but I appreciated that it was still affordable as a short term solution. Honestly, UHC didn't have ANY chiropractors who specialize in prenatal health so I am very thankful I ended up just working with Dr. Kolleen anyway and focusing on feeling better. Dr Kolleen is hands down the best chiropractor I've ever been too (and I've seen dozens). Wow- she has such a gifted touch. She loosens your body through tissue work then adjusts you. She spends significantly more time with you than the average chiropractor. And she has a gift with babies. She has helped my non nursing 8 week old improve his aligned and is now happily nursing. And as an added bonus she has a beautiful soul and is a delight to chat with. While I haven't had a full adjustment with Dr. Richard he is also a wonderful warm human being. My wife started going to see Dr. Kolleen for pre-natal chiropractic care. She really loved it. She mentioned to me that Dr. Kolleen's husband, Dr. Richard, also worked there. I have seen two other chiropracters with mixed results in both bedside manner, patient care, philosophy of treatment, and such. I have to say I really REALLY like Dr. Richard. First, be prepared that if you ask him a question, he will explain to you in great detail his philosophy and the mechanics of why he wants to do what he will do. This guy knows his stuff. He is very patient answering questions Second, he is in my demographic of 40+ year old weekend warrior, he totally understand me. And he will tell me his recommended advice, and then his "realistic" advice meaning he knows that I will still want to play basketball despite having a few injuries and he will tell me "so if you really do want to play, just keep this in mind" Third, he really does not want to see me. Meaning, he wants to fix you up the right way. He doesn't want to rush things that don't need to be rushed AND he wants to fix you up so that you don't have to come back to see him. And so far it has worked that way - I see him quite sparingly these days. As far as Dr. Kolleen, I haven't been treated by her. She specializes I believe in caring for women and pre-natal care. But just from seeing her in the office, I can only describe her as a kind and gentle soul. Together the two make a really great team treating both the guys and gals. Finally, VERY VERY super kid friendly as you'd expect. They have treatment tables in the back in a closed room, but also two treatment tables outside in an open area so the kids can come and take a peek at what's going on. Plus a small little play area with a variety of toys. In other words, it's okay for the kids to roam around a bit. Dr Richard is always able to adjust me has done wonders for my shoulder pain. The office is very family friendly. They also offer massage and have a partnership with a pilates studio. I love Dr. Kolleen and Dr. Richard! I found Focus Chiropractic from my OB-GYN who referred me to come here when I was pregnant with my twins and having sciatic pain. I was really nervous about seeing a chiropractor especially while being pregnant so I was a bit cautious at first. I met Dr. Kolleen and she was extremely kind, patient, warm and just made you feel comfortable about everything! I stressed that I was nervous and she immediately made me feel at ease with the treatment. After my first initial visit, I wondered why I hadn't gone to see her sooner! I went every week for the rest of my pregnancy until I was on bed rest and couldn't go anymore but she helped me with my edema, hip/joint pains, so much more and I always felt so relaxed and better after each visit. Dr. Richard also had to help with a few of my adjustments and he is very nice and professional as well. After having my twins, my pediatrician pointed out that one of my girls might have torticollis (flat head syndrome). I immediately called Dr. Kolleen to discuss bringing her in to see her. I felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Kolleen seeing my daughter even though she was only 5 weeks old at that time.
