I put off going to pelvic floor physical therapy for months because I felt embarrassed and ashamed. I have a prolapse, and I couldn't understand why it was happening when my kids are already 17 and 20 years old. In my mind, pelvic floor therapy was something only women needed right after having babies. From the moment I met Danielle, I felt at ease. She listened without judgment, explained everything clearly, and reassured me that all of the strange, self-conscious feelings I was having were completely normal. I started seeing Danielle at about 8 weeks postpartum after a C-section. I wanted to reengage my core and find out if I had any pelvic floor weakness. From my very first visit, Danielle made me feel completely comfortable, and she created a 12-week plan to address my pelvic floor and core strength. After every session I felt stronger, and I learned new stretches and exercises to keep up at home. Danielle also spent considerable time working on my C-section scar, using massage and cupping to help break up the scar tissue that had formed. The therapists deserve 5 stars. The front desk deserves 0. Before scheduling, I asked multiple times whether this office accepted insurance. I never received a straight answer. Instead, I was repeatedly told, "We don't deal with insurance directly, you just submit a claim with the superbill." What they never clearly explained was that submitting a superbill does not mean your insurance will cover the treatment. How difficult would it have been to simply say, "We provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance, but coverage depends on your plan and may or may not be approved"? Had someone been transparent from the beginning, I would not have continued treatment. Instead, I'm now responsible for over $1,000 out of pocket because my claims were denied (they were never covered in the first place). The therapists were excellent, but the lack of transparency from the front desk was incredibly frustrating. I repeatedly asked direct questions about insurance and never received a direct answer. Patients deserve clear, honest information so they can make informed financial decisions before committing to treatment. read more

She is very passionate about supporting women and you feel it the moment you step into their office that this is a safe space for women to be open and get the support they need. Some quick tips before I get into the details: Parking - plenty in a private lot. Office staff - amazing! Mary and Davita are so sweet and they really care about each patient that comes in. Bedside manner - amazing since each Provider is trained directly by Dr. Linda who founded Feminocentric and created her 12 week care plan. Billing and insurance - most likely out of pocket. They provide super bills. Yes, they are pricey but worth it if you want a personal, progressive experience and are comfortable venturing out of your in-network plan. Here's my experience and backstory: I had so much pain after my eight week recovery from childbirth; I couldn't sit down or walk much without pain; I couldn't even lift or hold my baby for more than 10 minutes; I could barely lift the car seat or a stroller; and lastly, I felt sharp pain in my lower belly that was not getting better. My baby was only going to get heavier and I could not hold her, I was devastated. I needed to get better. My OBGYN referred me to PFT for my in network insurance. After my initial internal assessment, I was given exercises and was on my way. My visit was 30 minutes and I left in so much more pain. The exercises was not improving but worsening my condition. Worse yet, the follow up was three months away! I went to two other pelvic floor clinics and felt worse after the visits and I wasn't getting better. Similarly, the next visit was weeks away. My visits were less than an hour and I felt judged, rushed and I left in more pain than when I started. I turned to Yelp and was so fortunate to find FeminoCentric. Mary answered my call and was so patient and kind; she listened to what I needed and booked four weekly visits right away for me. She also was very personable and asked how I was doing - she really cared about me as a person. This sort of personalized care has continued throughout my visits with Mary and Davita and I feel like I'm going to my parent's house every time I walk in the door or when I call the office. During my initial assessment with Dr. Linda, she did a very thorough Q&A about my pregnancy, birth and post-partum care. During the internal exam, she was very communicative about what was going to happen and asked my permission and constantly checked how I was doing. Unlike other PFT, Dr. Linda helped me to release the tension in my pelvic floor and I was able to lift my baby, the car seat and the stroller after three sessions! I was able to walk and sit comfortably. My life was changed! I really liked that they want to see you weekly and each session progresses from the previous session and you do feel the results of your hard work and their program. I learned that a lot of the lower body is all connected and starting from strengthening your pelvic floor. I decided to do the entire 12 weeks because I wanted to strengthen my core and go back to running. I was able to start jogging at 6 months after giving birth. In addition to pelvic floor, I saw Dr. Danielle who helped me with mastitis. She gave me tips on how to care for myself along with gentle exercises to keep my progression with my PFT that was not too exhausting. Lastly, I was re-injured from a car accident and as Orthopedic Physical Therapists, they are able to treat my whole body. All the doctors are really great and I love the approach of releasing tension before training the muscles. First, a few things about me: in the last 10 years, I have given birth to 5 kids, gone through a twin pregnancy, and went back to work between all those pregnancies, diagnosed with SI joint dysfunction and bladder prolapse, and went through 6 months of PT before throwing my back yet again. And it was this recurring pain that got me searching for a pelvic floor therapist and the closest one (40 min away) to me was this office. But even from the moment I called to inquire, I was supported and listened to carefully. My pain mattered, and could definitely be addressed. Being assessed by a pelvic floor therapist before birth and postpartum should be an essential part of care for all birthing persons. I wasn't able to find a therapist before birth but at ~2 years postpartum I am grateful I found Feminocentric. I got paired up with Dr. Tabitha Lin to help me reconnect with my pelvic floor and we did exactly that at more. My experience started off with a comprehensive evaluation, the results and goals to work on based off the findings. I appreciated the targeted exercises each week and Dr. Tabitha made sure I was doing them correctly which ensured proper carryover at home (progress is made outside of the clinicians office). I was only able to squeeze in a limited amount of sessions but we were able to establish a plan of care that still helped me meet my desired goals. And I have a list of exercises and videos to keep doing to maintain the progress I have made. I really appreciated Dr. Tabitha's expertise, bedside manners, and the way she explained each area we were working on. I truly enjoyed working with her. Tips: Parking: There is decent sized parking lot but allot for at least an extra 5-10 minutes your first visit to park and find the location (maybe 15 to be safe) It is private pay. I worked with Tabitha both before and after giving birth - the entire experience was incredibly helpful and I'd highly recommend her for anyone considering pelvic floor PT! Before my delivery, her assessment and feedback on how I was doing helped me make personalized adjustments that I would not have been able to figure out from just watching videos online. She also taught my husband several counter pressure techniques to use with me. Despite being a first-time mom, I felt confident going into my delivery and all of our sessions made a massive difference in how smooth my delivery ended up being! After birth, I didn't have any major tearing (which I attribute to the pre-birth sessions!) but we worked on re-training and strengthening my pelvic floor to avoid future issues. I also had pain with my wrist/thumb and wanted to get back into rock climbing - Tabitha always checked in on how I was feeling and adjusted what we focused on to match my goals. If I ever struggled with an exercise, she'd meet me where I was by explaining it in different ways or customizing it to better suit me. I left feeling like I had good control over my body and could start doing all of the activities I wanted to get back to! If you think PT/PFPT isn't for you - think again! I'm so grateful I changed from another office to Dr. Jessica at FeminoCentric. It's really hard as a patient to venture outside of your "in-network" providers but if you can, it can make or break your experience. Your body is the only one you get and as a mom I'm responsible for a whole family. You need to give yourself the best care and you can still bill your insurance out of network. I was at an in network office and felt like I wasn't making any progress in my pp recovery and in fact feeling WORSE. I had a minimal exam and then got sent to their assistant for a majority of the appointment for exercise. If that's your experience with PT, trust me IT CAN BE DIFFERENT AND BETTER! Dr. Jessica did an extremely thorough exam and was just so compassionate and conscientious. I did a 12 session program and healed several issues through my PT. I was not a perfect patient by any means and my treatment was still effective in healing my issues! I can take care of my family, don't feel like pain at work, and am so much stronger. While pregnant, I developed pain in my pelvis that persisted after I gave birth. The pain made it difficult to walk and do normal activities, and I couldn't accept that my new normal would include chronic pain. My OBGYN referred me to pelvic floor physical therapy and after doing my own search, I found Feminocentric Physical Therapy. I was initially hesitant to start pelvic floor PT because of the time commitment with a newborn, but I'm so glad I did! I completed 12 weeks of pelvic floor PT with Dr. Tabitha Lin at the end of 2024. Tabitha guided me through all the exercises, showed me the anatomy of the pelvic floor, and provided thorough explanations to the treatment methods. With pelvic floor PT, there are also some exercises and work done internally, which can feel a little awkward at first, but Tabitha made my PT sessions extremely comfortable. At the start of my PT journey, I had weak pelvic muscles and a weak core; I wasn't able to hold a Kegel and I felt sharp pains through the different layers of my pelvis. By the end of PT, I was able to do normal activities and walk without pelvic pain, able to perform and hold strong Kegels, and felt my pelvic and core muscles were so much stronger. Not only did she help me understand what was happening, but she also gave me useful exercises specific to my situation to do at home between sessions. A very long overdue review for Feminocentric---I have been working w/ them since 2022 from my postpartum journey with my first born. My OB referred me to them and to work on pelvic physical therapy because I was experiencing UTI-like symptoms about 2-3 months after I gave birth (I got tested multiple times and did not have any traces of UTI). I started off with a very helpful phone consultation w/ Dr. Linda who was really understanding and open to learn about my issues before jumping into this new pelvic PT world. I was paired with Dr. Danielle, and I almost don't want to specify how great she is because I don't want her to book up lol but she is amazing. I ended up working with Danielle during my postpartum journey after my 1st born and prenatal journey with my 2nd child. Danielle was intentional with all of her care plans and curated interventions/exercises that was specific to each visit based on specific pains/issues I was going through that week. Danielle also became familiar with my physical limitations and skills and would offer me either more challenging or modification exercises to truly work on my whole body supporting the pelvic floor. I also appreciated them offering to film the exercises we went through therefore I can review it at home and be accountable for the work we did together. Lastly, I worked w/ Dr. Jessica the day before my induction date and ended up being one of the best decisions I made. I had a lot of nerves and anxiety leading up to my induction, and Dr. Jessica listened to my concerns with a lot of patience and quickly came up with a very well thought out care plan that I could also take with me to the labor and delivery room. What I really appreciated was the doable range of exercises I could work on with my physical limitations being 40+ weeks pregnant which helped instill a level of confidence in me to my induction appointment. I was referred here from Village Birth from the childbirth class. So glad I came here. I wanted to be prepared for childbirth and postpartum. Dr. Sayyad is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and knows how to explain concepts in an easy to understand way. I'm not a very active or physically in shape person, but she was gentle and kind with showing me the different exercises I could do to help prepare myself for both a vaginal delivery or a C-section. I learned so much from my sessions here, and am looking forward to coming back after my delivery to continue my sessions. I just finished my 12 sessions of physical therapy with Dr. Jessica. I came to Feminocentric PT with sciatica pain and pelvic pain after the birth of my second child. At my first postpartum checkup my OB said I had diastasis recti (ab wall separation) & before I could go back to exercising the way I used to (pre-pregnancy), I needed to heal my ab separation & strengthen my pelvic floor, or it could potentially cause more damage. This was my first pregnancy, so I had no idea of how to take care of my body postpartum. FeminoCentric was the first on the list of suggested PT centers in Pasadena. After looking up some reviews & locations of the different PT centers my OB recommended, I decided to start PT here, & I'm so happy that I did. I went into PT with no knowledge of how pregnancy impacts pelvic floor function & how that affects core; I remember just wanting to complete my 12 weeks of PT, so that I could start working out again & get back to being healthy & fit--to feel more like myself. The center itself is clean, well-organized, & has a huge window with a beautiful view of the mountains. Parking is also super easy, which is a plus in Pasadena. I was told if I ever needed to bring my baby to a PT session, there would be someone there to care for her while I completed my session. Roselle, the office manager, always greeted me by name when I walked in, explained the payment plans to me very clearly, & addressed all my questions about scheduling. She was always friendly & kind & made me feel welcomed at every appointment. For my actual PT, I worked with Dr. Jermaine & she was absolutely amazing. She is so knowledgeable & just educated/guided me on how the pelvic floor works, its connection to the abdominals/core, how to breathe properly when exercising & showed me exercises to do to heal my diastasis--every week the exercises progressed. Not only is Dr. Jermaine well-versed in the specifics of PT for postpartum care, but she was incredibly supportive, & demonstrated so much patience & compassion on days I needed it the most. I had a session once a week & would look forward to it every week. After I completed my 12 weeks of PT, I was actually a little sad it was over because I had gained so much from this place & had only positive experiences. Each session is super informative and helpful, and its very easy to schedule appointments. They send a super bill for insurance as well. My only concern is the lack of cleanliness. I came to FeminoCentric when I was five months pregnant. I am so grateful I got to work with Dr. Jessica. She gave me lots of great insight and exercises to help minimize and prevent pregnancy symptoms. I also worked with her for the four session birth prep series. The 12 week postpartum series has been life changing, literally! My baby is in the 95th percentile, and I started having a lot of back pain by the time she was two months old due to weak abs and pelvic floor. I also had a few other postpartum complications that were painful. I am extremely active, and it was a huge and daunting goal to get back to the level of activity that I did before getting pregnant. Now at the end of 12 weeks, I feel strong and ready to get back to the things I love. The front desk staff, Roselle and Davida, were always extremely helpful. Roselle provided an excellent overview of information on the discovery call, and Davida even rocked my baby on days that she was unsettled during my appointments! They provided my superbills in a timely manner so that I could submit them to my insurance for reimbursement. My particular insurance did not cover as much as I had hoped, but the out-of-pocket expense was more than worth it. I wish I had known that they existed while pregnant because I had a very difficult time both physically and emotionally. They have addressed myriad issues that I'm experiencing, from a previous injury that has been exacerbated by breastfeeding to fairly severe Diastasis Recti. I think that a lot of people come in expecting to miraculously feel better by one session and while this is not the case, with time, effort and patience I've really seen the results. Their work is so valuable. They have provided something that was previously elusive to me in the healing process...and that is hope. I was referred to Feminicentric by my OBGYN during my pregnancy. I started seeing Dr Jessica at the end of my pregnancy and have continued to see her during postpartum. Forever grateful to have found Feminocentric to help with my diastasis recti! At 10 months postpartum, I was feeling very weak and was not able to carry my baby for more than a few minutes. I had no idea - until meeting Dr. Linda at a Seeds of Motherhood pelvic floor workshop - that I had a pretty significant diastasis recti. After just 1 session, I felt immediately better and was able to carry my baby without significant pain or weakness. I ended up doing the 12 session package with 3 different therapists - Dr. Linda, Dr. Jessica, and Dr. Jermaine. Each therapist had different styles/personalities and were helpful for my recovery. They listened to my problem areas, which could vary week to week, and helped craft exercises and a plan to help me. What can I say? This place changed my life. I had emergency surgery for a perforated colon in Jan 2021. April 2022, I had another surgery to remove the colostomy that I needed to heal from the first surgery. THAT is when my problems started. I have Parkinson's and for those of you that do not know, Parkinson's causes your bowls to be slower. Mine were plain not wanting to work at all. The average person risks slower bowels any time they have surgery, especially abdominal surgery. This is something I learned after my second surgery, so a person with Parkinson's it is even worse. I was constipated, bloated, miserable, and had a significant hernia. For months and months, I tried everything my GI suggested, she finally suggested pelvic therapy. That was the last "trick up her sleeve" and she said there was nothing else she could do for me. Since my medical insurance did not cover such therapy, it would have to come out of pocket. I found Feminocentric on Google and Yelp. I had no idea what I was really looking for. But my GI said pelvic therapy and that is what they do. Don't be fooled, pregnancy is not their only focus. They do physical therapy. I was drawn to the fact it was a female business. It made me feel safe to expose the horrible scars on my stomach. My first visit was like a miracle. I met with Dr Danielle, she told me the hernia that I was told I had was actually a muscle separation. Very much like the separation during a pregnancy. But mine was quite significant and it was above my belly button. I could not believe how must better I felt after that first visit. I was more than happy to pay whatever it was going to cost. I almost felt normal. After about the third visit, I had lost 2" of my bloated belly. I was not as constipated, and I was sleeping better. If you do the work, it works. After two and a half months of my therapy, we sold our house and moved out of state. I honestly thought I was good. I got lazy and didn't do any of my exercises for nearly a month. I was thrown back into my bloat and constipation again. Luckily, all I needed was a few video sessions with Dr Danielle, and things started to go back to my new normal. I wish I could be back in So. Cal and visit this incredible place weekly. But I really don't need to go there. I just need to discipline myself to follow the exercise videos that we made during my time there and keep going on my own. Dr Danielle even made me a goal chart to follow. I have to admit. I'm not doing as much as I should be, but I am working at it. Still unpacking and learning my new home and state. But it would not be possible if I didn't have Dr Danielle's help. I was referred to FeminoCentric by my OB and was a bit skeptical and hesitant at first, especially since they are out of network and do not take insurance. But I wanted to get a better handle on my pain and recovery that was a result of a traumatic birth, so I took that first step and booked the appointment. First off, Dr. Linda called that same-day and explained her approach over the phone and booked me for my first appointment. It is a total of about 12 sessions, once a week and I didn't think I would recover in that short time. My OB said anywhere from 6-8 months, even up to a year to fully recover. But here I am, past the initial phase and I'm feeling infinitely better just a few sessions in. I'm so happy with my progress. I'm almost there. My pain diminished significantly and my movement is back. I can do normal life things without struggle. Even my back pain is almost gone with their holistic, whole body approach to recovery. I highly recommend them, so much, that I continue to pay out of pocket for treatment and look forward to my sessions. They know what they're talking about and explain all the different muscle interactions very well and know just what to do to address your problem areas. They're moms themselves so they fully understand what we as patients are going through. You do need to put in some work. But I felt like I did very minimal work (finding time is hard with a newborn) but even 1 extra day, even a few minutes here and there help significantly, since their approach is pretty targeted to trouble areas. I had an honestly life changing experience here. I didn't know what exactly to expect, but I heard great things about pelvic floor therapy. I was 3 months post c section when I started and was feeling kind of helpless with my healing process. Dr. Jessica was extremely knowledgeable, kind and flexible.
