It has the best kind of retro, therapeutic Scooby-Doo vibes: charming, relaxing, and full of personality. A special shoutout to Jose at the front desk, who was extraordinary from start to finish. We called while we were on our way, and he gave us genuinely great customer service over the phone. When we arrived, we had the pleasure of being welcomed by Jose in person, and it was one of the best hotel-front-desk interactions I've had. He is a fantastic ambassador for this one-of-a-kind hotel. We loved the mineral baths, the holistic rooms, and the freshly made wellness drinks from the bar. Dr. Wilkinson's feels like a perfect wellness getaway with character--not overly polished or generic, but warm, memorable, and rejuvenating. We'll definitely be back again soon!

We chose this location to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We mostly wanted to enjoy a peaceful…read moreweekend without kids and the three mineral pools on site. We arrived before check in time (which is 4:00). Upon arrival, they informed us that our room wasn't ready yet but we could use the pools until it was. We went ahead and were immediately impressed with all 3 pools. When we hadn't heard back by 3:45, I went back to the front desk and they checked us in. We stayed for 2 nights. Here are my pros and cons from our visit: Pros: Grounds: the grounds are nice and well kept. Pools: All three pools were clean and exactly as advertised online. The chaise lounges/seating near the pool offered ample lounging space and shade. The adult only area had a lush garden and cozy seating. They have a few pool noodles on hand but I recommend bringing your own if you enjoy using one. Staff/service: Excellent ! When we arrived and checked in, we were greeted with warmth and welcoming. I'd say that there was not one unfriendly staff member. I have to mention that Chris, in particular, was very attentive and accommodating to us and all other guests we saw interact with him. Much appreciated, especially as all Calistoga lost power which slightly displaced our plans for a few hours. Room: As soon as we walked in you could smell how clean it was. We had a courtyard view King room. We appreciated all of the special touches including the cute, retro mini fridge, the oil diffuser, and the extra large bath towels. The bed was very comfortable as well. Food/drinks: It makes it extra special to be able to order food/drinks to be delivered to you poolside. We loved that! We had two breakfasts. My favorite was the breakfast sandwich with bacon. We loved the cocktails, too. Cons: Construction noise: Indian Springs is expanding their resort which means, eventually, they will be directly across the street. The construction noise was a bit alarming when we were vacationing and wanting to sleep in. Luckily I brought ear plugs so it didn't bother me too much. It didn't take away much from our trip and I'm hopeful it actually boosts this wonderful establishment in the future. Day use guests: this may be nitpicking but it upset me enough to mention it. My husband was using a chaise lounge with an umbrella next to it. A couple showed up and proceeded to take the umbrella from where he was seated and moving it to their spot. When my husband explained that he was using it, they replied that they had "paid for it" and continued to move it away from our spot. They ended up being moved to another "reserved" spot and they did the same thing to another couple. The lack of social etiquette was unfortunate. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay here and will return. *Another side note is that they are a dog friendly hotel (we have a dog but didn't bring him in this trip).

I visited Paul for the first time over a month ago. Immediately, he asked if I had back pain. Of…read morecourse I did - it comes from hip arthritis. (Arthritis so sever my orthopedic surgeon says is as bad as any 80 year old. I am 49 and supposed to get elective hip replacement in the next year or so, depending upon how painful life is.) Paul then said my left leg is 3/8'' longer than the other, and did some "adjustments" during the treatment making it feel a lot better. He then fashioned an insert made out of cardboard, and black tape for my shoe. He also mentioned a manufacturer than makes layered adjustable ones, if I could find somebody that sells them (not him). I have not had pain since! Much, much more rare anyway. Better than excruciating pain everyday. I doubt I need surgery at this point. When I've looked at hip x-rays, and MRIs I've seen that it is bone on bone. Paul suggested the cartilage is only compressed, not deteriorated- because of the height differential. So far he is right. Saving me a lot of money, inconvenience, and pain. Why had my doctor, spine specialist, orthopedic surgeon, or physical therapist not thought of this?! It's remarkable. Paul works wonders. I sent three others from my family to him that day. Regular massage treatments were enjoyed by all. I'll be back every time I am on the west coast. Edward D.
