A week later, one person called (probably his name is Steve, but I might be mistaken) asking where I still needed help. I said no. The people who cut the tree were supposed to remove the cut branches. I was surprised when I received a phone call from the company a month ago asking me to pay for the services. I never saw anybody from the company. I do not know who removed the branches, the city, the people who cut the tree, or the company. I specifically said that I do not require their services. Yet, I finally received an invoice for $321.00. I have nothing good to say about Lexington Tree Service except they are fraudulent liars. I will pay the bill but advise everybody to avoid the company.

The main issue I have, and one that is entirely my fault, is the labor cost. I always get three quotes. Always. But, I've been really busy traveling for work lately and I got into a hurry. I didn't do it this time. That's on me. But, I will share with you my experience to hopefully help you make an informed decision. The shower looks great. I don't have a problem with the workmanship on that. But the initial thought of the work that needed to be done was modified while the work was being done, and the remedy was not as involved as initially thought. I probably should have requested a change order at that point but again, I was in Salt Lake City for a week and time got away from me. I thought the modification should have saved a little money. Kris disagreed. Again, they're good people. Maybe it did turn out to cost the exact same as initially thought. Seems strange to me, but maybe. When Kris explained the final cost it just struck me as high. Kris texted that, "We charge $150 an hour" for labor. Again, this is on me for not doing my due diligence. I agreed to the price. I paid it. Kris cashed the check. Business was done. But, reflecting, $150 an hour for labor is high. Really high. Some might say excessive. It is about twice as high as the highest I've ever seen. Just keep that in mind as the hours add up on a project. It's gonna cost you. The issue I had with the workmanship was missed spots on the painting. It was not well done. I think they might have rushed that and to be honest, I'm gonna have to be ok with that because every hour was costing me $150. I can paint. I'll get to that this weekend. Does leave a bad taste in my mouth, however, after paying such a high labor cost and painting is, well, labor after all. I provided the paint. Look, if you have unlimited funds, I think they're a decent option. Not really sure how to rate them but I do think affordability should factor into a rating as well. So I'm going to go midway on this one. Good people, mixed workmanship, with nosebleed high labor costs.

The crew, Vinnie, Chris, Cody, Brian, and a fourth member (sorry, forgot his name!) showed up on time and started the work. For 3 days, the team arrived on time and worked all day. Each day, my backyard was left in great condition, i.e. no debris, trash, or tools lying around. Materials were brought in as they were needed and the old fencing was removed after the first day. I highly recommend Vinnie and his crew. The crew was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable checking in with them throughout each day. But when we stumbled upon A-1 Fencing and requested a quote, Vinny showed up the same day..not just in a truck, but with a skid steer attached. Right away, we knew he was the real deal when he hopped out with all that equipment and wearing carhartt overalls. Vinny is honest, reliable, and truly stands by his word. Our fence was scheduled to be built during a snowstorm (of coarse because we have bad luck) I was so upset because I couldn't wait any longer to have my fence built! I was thinking it would all get rescheduled for weeks out but sure enough, there he was...working in freezing temperatures and feet of snow to get the job done. His dedication is unmatched. While there were some minor issues due to hands-on training with a new crew, Vinny immediately corrected them at no extra cost. His years of experience showed in the quality of his work, and his explanations for how things were being built to prevent gravity weighing anything down in the future. If you're looking for someone who is hardworking, knowledgeable, and fair with pricing, Vinny is your guy. Rain or shine, or literally during a snow storm..he delivers. We highly recommend A-1 Fencing. You won't regret giving them your business! Additionally, I look forward to having other projects done by A-1 fencing as they not only build fences but also are able to do all your other outdoor projects! We plan to have our deck rebuilt to be a covered, screened in deck/patio soon and I cannot wait to see what A-1 fencing does with it! We won't look elsewhere when it comes to getting anything else built as we have trust and reliability with this company... something that's hard to find now! You also get warranty with their work that you don't have to stress about, no questions asked. If you don't like something Vinny fixes it with no excuses or questions asked.
