While I was on a Business Trip in the Arlington VA area, I came across Rosslyn Barber Shop on YELP and it was only 1 block from the Hyatt Centric Hotel. TINA did a great job on my Skin-tight Fade with a #1.5 on top. She also took my beard down to a #3. I really enjoyed the old-timey hot shaving cream and straight razor shape-up. Friendly, efficient service and a great haircut. One of the best fades I've had in a while. A little hard to find, so here are directions from the Rosslyn Metro Station: hang a right as you exit the station onto Moore Street. You'll see a bus stop with a sign for the barber shop. The entrance is through a building lobby, adjacent to a Chase Bank. Take the elevator up to M3 and follow the signs. I went on a Saturday and the building lobby was locked, but there's usually a security guard to let you in. If not, call the shop and they'll come get you. Supposedly there's also a back entrance off Fort Myer Drive that isn't locked but I didn't try that. read more

I've been going to this barbershop since I first moved to Arlington about 3 years ago. Conveniently located right above the Rosslyn metro, they AACR absolutely amazing and one of the few places around that I've found has experience with cutting hair as soft as mine. At any one time, there's always 4-5 people working. I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a cut (during weekends). ThEy were displaced to the building over while construction occurs in the new metro shopping area but they continue to run normal business hours and will have a new space in the new mall once it opens. 4 stars for a solid barbershop. When I moved to Georgetown, it was tough to find a barbershop that was nearby with good reviews and decent prices. When I checked on Yelp, I saw that Rossyln Barbershop checked all of those boxes, so I decided to give them a try. The shop is located on the top floor of some rundown mall connected with the Rossyln Metro Stop. Once I arrive (not much for parking in the area, so plan to take other means of transportation), I will go inside and am often greeted by a friendly Vietnamese person who tells me to take a number. The wait times can vary, so I try to go during off-peak hours to ensure a quick turnaround. When my number is called, I head over to a chair. The shop is well maintained and the barbers are generally friendly (although many of them don't speak very good English, so communication can occasionally be a little tough) and do a good job. They spend about 20-30 minutes on my haircut, which is a good amount of time for the $20 price. After they finish cutting, they also do the back neck shave and a warm towel, which is a nice way to end the experience. Overall, Rossyln Barbershop is a solid shop with good barbers and prices. If you are looking for a basic $20 haircut in the area, it is worth giving this spot a try. read more

It is the worst form of male vanity for a guy to spend $100 on a haircut. Given that an average male haircut takes about 20 minutes and happens about once a month, it just doesn't make economic sense. In scouring the city for practical haircuts, I stumbled upon this place while working in Rosslyn. It's convenient location (on the top floor of the horrible mall right above the Rosslyn metro station) contributes to the appeal. But the service is what I return for. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Even when the shop is full of people I never have to wait very long. But most of all, everyone is skillful and detailed. There are some places where one barber makes you look like a million bucks and another barber makes you look like a bird of paradise landed on your head and died. This is not that place. Since I like to get my haircut twice a month, this $17 cut really ends up saving me a ton of money, which I can in turn waste elsewhere. Yay! I'm a fan. read more

A good haircut at a decent price with friendly yet quiet barbers. Going here is more of a chore than something I look forward to, but I'm spoiled by going to "real" Southern barber shops when I was a kid where you would talk sports, trade jokes, and get a haircut in the process. A haircut costs $20 or so with tip which isn't bad for DC but if you go after work be prepared for a wait that can be up to half hour or more at times. Oh the haircuts can sometimes take longer than you'd think. My haircut seems to be 80% done after 10 mins yet takes 40 mins for some reason which can get a little annoying when you just want to get home after work. Also, as someone else mentioned there is no conversation really so the place can be full but there is usually a somewhat awkward silence in the air. Overall I go here because it's on the metro on the way home and they do a pretty good job on the haircut. Oh they use the hot shaving cream razor on your neck at the end...the "proper" way to end a haircut. read more

My boyfriend got his haircut here and absolutely loved it. Wait time was 15 minutes max at peak time and the price was extremely reasonable. The staff was professional, knowledgeable and well versed in cutting many different types of hair. My boyfriend's hair is especially difficult to cut as it's a curly Afro with thick large curls and the barber had no trouble at all. Excellent value, good quality, and convenient location. I came recently and saw Jane, who did an excellent job with my thick, wavy hair on the first try. Most budget barbers can't manage that. This is still a no-frills Metro station barber shop, but these people know what they are doing. They even do touch ups with a straight razor and finish up with a hot towel. Stay away from the assistant manager! So heres my story, i always go here every 2 months and unfortunately the person who always cut my hair was busy so i end up with the assistant manager. She literally gave me a terrible bowl cut hair where the people next to me gave me that "cringey" look. I told her im not happy with my haircut and she replied "dont worry your handsome and you can pay $10". I felt very uncomfortable the moment she started talking "because u show me this - that - blah - blah - blah" And by the way her English is so bad so its best to ask her to speak slowly. I've been looking for a place on the metro where I can come right after work and get a quick haircut. This place was perfect. I went on a Tuesday at 3:30. When I walked in, a lady politely greeted me with a big smile. I was immediately ushered to an open station, no waiting around. Another lady instantly approached, said hello, asked me how I wanted my haircut, and proceeded to do an awesome job. She was very careful and detailed.
