Attended a 2 day session at our local community college. It was pretty informative - I would recommend this if you are interested. l the Financial Advisor seemed knowledgeable. Afterwards I set an appointment with the Financial Advisor to review my retirement plan and hear his recommendation. This was a free option included with the session. Problems I encountered including the Financial Advisor just couldn't get anything right! I shared my financial information very clearly in a spreadsheet with copies of documents. Also provided my & my spouse's age, work status, planned retirement and more. The Financial Advisor never provided a complete and correct presentation because it had so many errors. TWICE!! He was supposed to correct the information and email it to me but that never happened either. I decided with that many ERRORS to go in a different direction and requested the documents I provided be available for pickup. I was told by the Customer Rep / Appointment Setter that my information was at a different location and would have to be transferred to my local office. oookay. And they were supposed to notify me when it was available - didn't happen. Called back AGAIN and finally the docs were available for pickup. Was told their office hours are until 5 pm M-F and I showed up during that time (on a Friday) but they were CLOSED!!! WTH?!?!? Called their main number and someone agreed to show up and get my info. They did while I waited for almost half hour in the parking lot. Of course, they had a great excuse - it was a nice day and they decided to leave early. I know I made the right decision because if they make this many mistakes when trying to sell themselves to a new client just imagine once they have control of your funds how poorly you might be treated. We have been with the Foguth Group for about two years now. We have been given advice on ROTHs, taxes, RMDs and many other topics. His staff are easy to talk with and very helpful. We have also attended several of Michael's seminars and learned about Social Security timing, tax consequences and rules.
