Matt and his father did a wonderful job refinishing the tile and tub in a bathroom at one of our managed properties this morning. Their communication was great, they showed up on time, and gave us a really fair price for a job well done. They worked really quickly and delivered exactly what was expected. I also wanted them to also refinish a claw foot tub, but they advised to wait until the weather was warmer in order to get he best results. I really appreciated them acting in my best interest instead of trying to make a quick buck. I will definitely be calling them back to do the claw foot tub and the second floor bathroom as soon as the weather is warmer. Highly recommended. read more

Stay far away. Matt is a Hack! He will demand payment before the glaze is even dry. You will quickly find out that he didn't clean or even dust first. I contacted Foley Refinishing on November 2018 and had my tub refinished December. Just 1 month after the refinishing I was getting cracks and peeling in the tub. Matthew will just tell you that it's due to soap and bottles being left on the tub, but I have never placed anything on the tub after the job. He left very meticulous care instructions which I followed and still got issues. The sides of the tub are also very rough and feels like sandpaper. This is third time i used Foley refinishing. I used him in a rental unit have in Belmont in two different Apt. and i used him in my own house twice. I think he did a good job in my house. The rental units didn last as long because the tenants just aren't as careful and don't take care of the tubs and use hash cleaners on the tubs. Matt tells you form the get go what to use and how take care of a refinished tub. If you follow his advice the refinishing will last awhile. He set up an appointment and show up on time. On 5/2/19 I contacted Foley Refinishing spoke to Matt ..who seemed to be very nice one week later I met Matt to give him a deposit to start the job..to deglaze a tub for me ...3days after I had a problem the bottom of the tub was very rough and corse ..Contacted Matt he said he would come by Never did and called him repeatedly never returned my calls ..one week later the tub stated to peel ...Very horrible job and bad business man ...don't use them !!!!! read more

Had a terrible time with Foley Refinishing. Just 3 weeks after reglazing my tub, I started getting issues with peeling around the tub. He offered to come out to refinish the issue for an extra $150. I should never have to pay extra for a problem that is due to them. They never offer any sort of guarantee or warranty and have no pride in their work. DO NOT HIRE FOLEY REFINISHING. Positives: easy to communicate with, prompt, refinished the tub Cons: fails to tell you the customer needs to caulk the entire tub and replace fixtures that he removes. He also left a lot of after spray on the walls and fixtures which takes some scrubbing to get off. Mine isn't even off after a week. He gave me a long list of "maintenance" or "aftercare" that seems a little ridiculous for a tub, ie. dry after each use??, dont put shampoo or any bottle on the tub? Theres a whole page. I caulked the tub as he suggested and the finish with white silicon and the tub turned yellow where applied. He was responsive at first but when I sent him a pic of the yellow finish I stopped getting responses. I hired someone to finish what he started, I could not get the drain lever working properly, and the shower head was fixed in a contorted position which I also needed to have somone else adjust for me, I wasn't strong enough. It was not a fun week when I was already prepping it for tenants and had many other projects to finish up. Tenant moving in this week. I will update if there are more problems. read more

Unfortunately I have to update that this business isn't what I originally thought. Less then 2 months after having my tub refinished it began peeling. The owner Matt questioned if I left a bar of soap on the tub and let it dry, insinuating that would somehow damage the finish. I hadn't left soap anywhere but it's a tub, dried soap shouldn't damage the finish regardless. Matt told me he wanted me happy and he'd fix the situation and would schedule an appointment as soon as he was working back in the area. Fast forward another month, Matt has assure me that he hasn't forgotten about me and he will fix the issue but he's been very busy and his partner is having health problems. Trying to be understanding I say ok. Another two weeks and I make multiple email attempts to contact Matt with no answer. He has clearly chosen to ignore this problem and his shoddy product / workmanship. Do not use his company! There are many larger, more reputable companies out there that will do the work for the same price and honor their warranty. I hired Foley Refinishing to repair the floor of an acrylic standing shower. The repair lasted 2 days! The floor started cracking and was cracking worse than original just after 2 days of use. This shower is used by a young man of about 150lbs -- there is no reason why the repair did not last except that the repair was not properly done. The issues: 1) GREAT STUFF spray foam is NOT structural foam. This is not suitable for stabilizing a shower floor. I asked Matt specifically if they were going to use Great Stuff and he said no - that it was a special product they get from their distributor. Google this. MATT LIED TO GET THE JOB and refused to acknowledge this was not the proper solution. The repair was not done to our previously discussed and agreed upon remedy 2) Spraying less than 1 CAN is not sufficient to fill the gap underneath a standing shower base. The can also EXPLODED in the shower, causing a huge mess (although Matt did clean up most of it.) I asked MULTIPLE TIMES for him to use more foam. I pointed out the give to the shower floor. Matt would not get another can from his SUV or from the local Home Depot. Matt would not listen and kept creating excuses so that I would feel more comfortable with the repair. 3) Drilling 6 holes into the base to refill with acrylic epoxy will weaken the shower base. 4) Spray paint is MESSY. There was paint residue all over the glass shower door and wall. 5) THEY OFFER NO WARRANTIES AND NO GUARANTEES. PLEASE NOTE that MATT takes pictures of the job (showing a repaired shower floor - basically a nice gleaming coat of fresh paint) and has you sign a contract that the repair has been done. I called Foley Refinishing and texted Matt a picture of the damage. He would not pick up the phone, however he was quick to text me the pictures and the agreement and tell me there is no warranty. He did a fibreglass tub/shower stall and the work is absolutely horrible. Drips and runs in finish. The finish also feels like someone sprayed beach sand under the entire unit including the walls. I spoke with owner and sent pics. He promised to be out and fix it. I've left multiple voicemails and txt with no responses. I'd be happy to reavaulate and update this if he would just come out and fix the problem. read more

Matt came to refinish my cast iron tub. He seem professional until 6 months later when crack started to develop in the tub. Call him and he told me was due to not cleaning the tub. I clean tub on a weekly basis. He will not stand by his work. I have now wasted my money. Now i have to pay double to new guy to sand and reglaze. Matt and Collin came out to my place around 9:40am and completed tub and tile reglazing a little before 1am. The two did an amazing job to my shower as it was in pretty crappy condition. The price you pay for the outstanding work simply cannot be beat. These guys clearly know what they're doing, don't waste thousands on the other guys, stick with them. read more

I found out about Foley Refinishing from Facebook. All of the review on Facebook was good, in hindsight I should have googled or yelped the company because the majority of consumers from the past year are experiencing the same issues that I am.I purchased a foreclosed home and needed someone to refinish my tub. Foley Refinishing came on Dec 16th to refinish the tub. They left me with care instructions. At that time the house was still unoccupied. I reached out To Foley again on Dec 31st 2018 my first day moving in the house. At that time I told them that I noticed while taking my first shower in the bathroom areas that was not covered properly we also agreed that they would come and pray my ceiling above my tub. On January first he came back to respray the areas and also spray the ceiling. When I first had the tub refinished he recommended that I caulked all around the tub, With 1005 silicone I. I showed him the area that I did so, all of those areas were now discolored. He said this happened because I used clear caulking instead of white (he never specified to use white) On January 27th I reached out to Foley Refinishing again letting them know that there were several areas in and round the tub that were peeling. His response was that something sharp must have dropped on the tub. He also requested additional photos. I sent him the additional photos and told him that nothing fell in the tub plus the peeling occurred in several different locations. I reached out to him again February 4th through Facebook letting him know that the peeling is getting increasingly worst. Foley refinishing responded on February 5th saying that there must have been some type of damage and that i must not be following the care sheets. he also brought up that I have children in the house that might be causing the damage. He said that he would try to stop by when he in in my area. There seems to be something seriously wrong with the materials that they are using, he does not stand by his work. STAY AWAY!!! read more

Matt Foley Tub Finishers. They are the worst professional company to work on any tub! The glaze that they use is so bad that you can peel it off with your fingernails. The color is gray, not white, as tubs should be. They also state that any problems and they would be back to fix it. After calling them, they state that their job was too good to come back and fix, but would come back for extra money, double the price of tub! These people are scams! Do not waste your time and money; truly get pros to do the job. This botch job cost me $500.00 and then I had to find a true pro to redo their mess for another $300.00! Do not use! I had a tub refinished by Matt and once it was complete I noticed some runs and drips in the corners etc. He promised to come back but never did. After two plus months of him making excuses and blocking my phone number I finally hired someone else. The new company came in and noted that the tub had not been properly prepared, sanded and primed. The paint that Matt used scraped off extremely easily which told us it would have chipped right away with use (the house was vacant as it was being sold). There are much better more reputable companies who will stand by their work and they really don't cost much more. Do your homework and avoid these guys! read more

It looks terrible and I paid quite a bit for the job to be done correctly. No one ever returns telephone calls, texts, or emails regarding this issue. Same story here as Allison. Took a week and the drain area was cracking. He never said anything about sealing. You'd think he would do that as part of "finishing a job". That was $500.00 bucks worth. He came back to redo the job kindly charging me only $350.00 more. This time I used the proper GE sealant his crew recommended and it still cracked at the drain. Insult to injury, the finish came up halfway up the tub basin. How can he blame that on the homeowner? What good is a refinish if it is too fragile to use. And No Matt, I didn't use a harsh scouring cleaner. Anywho, his 5 star ratings are from friends I am sure. Those who have complaints seem to sing the same song. DO NOT USE! We hired them to refinish our bathtub and within one use the paint was separating. We have given them every opportunity to rectify the situation and instead they refused to answer their phones for us or our contractor.
