Moving onto the apple fry donut with cinnamon sugar. So fresh and delicious. It's a fry cake hence it's fried. But it's not heavy greasy taste etc. I bought some salad dressing and the frozen hand pies. Very friendly and helpful group. All seem very enthusiastic about the products and the customer If it couldn't get any better they had free donuts on the counter. Today was the first day of opening for the season.

I thought it was charming that they had a self serve, bakery filled with things like apple cider donuts and a variety of cookies. The staff was all very friendly and the entire setting oozed fall energy. They offer a soup of the day, a variety of produce, regional alcohol, and some baked treats. Nice local vendors as well, including one I have to shoutout here: ToadWorks Art. Not only was the vendor friendly, she made these cute little hand-painted frogs that my girls loved as souvenirs. My oldest left hers behind in the rental car on accident, and I messaged this biz owner and she sent me another one! Above and beyond. Additionally, there was good produce here, especially the berries. We even pieced together ingredients for an AirBNB meal: fresh pasta, tomatoes and basil for sauce, garlic, onions and green beans. It's conveniently in the heart of this small downtown, easy to access and easy to park. Loved the whole vibe here.

Parking was surprisingly easy, and once we got started, it was a block and a half of a good time. Now, we did not buy much, but we did enjoy seeing everything and talking to a few people. We were especially excited to buy fruit directly from the farmers! I got a bunch of peaches and nectarines, and let me say I have never in my life tasted such good fruit! I also tried the homemade strawberry & rhubarb pie, and bought the homemade honey with cinnamon. I also especially liked how the Farmer's Market overlooked Silver Beach. It was a nice time, and I look forward to going back before the Farmer's Market season ends this year! May 27th thru October 14th is St. Joe farmer market season meaning every Saturday 9am-2pm you'll…read moresee me buying delicious varieties of deliciousness.  Homeade pop-tarts, fresh cheese and gluten-free cookies are my most frequently bought items.  While I am a regular customer at a few stalls, I stop at every stall to check out the new vendors, see new options and maybe pick up something new I had previously overlooked. Whatever you're looking for, the St. Joe farmers market is a great summer staple that allows you to buy fresh food and enjoy the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan.  If you're here on a Saturday in the summer or early fall, I would definitely try to stop by.

Prices for produce is better than Dutch Farm Market near the highway. They have cauliflower, squash, pumpkins, ghost peppers, tomatillos, etc. Initially I wasn't sure which pumpkin to pick (since not all pumpkins are equal when it comes to baking) and luckily someone came in to restock and he was able to answer my questions.
