Moving onto the apple fry donut with cinnamon sugar. So fresh and delicious. It's a fry cake hence it's fried. But it's not heavy greasy taste etc. I bought some salad dressing and the frozen hand pies. Very friendly and helpful group. All seem very enthusiastic about the products and the customer If it couldn't get any better they had free donuts on the counter. Today was the first day of opening for the season.

I thought it was charming that they had a self serve, bakery filled with things like apple cider donuts and a variety of cookies. The staff was all very friendly and the entire setting oozed fall energy. They offer a soup of the day, a variety of produce, regional alcohol, and some baked treats. Baked goods go early in the morning but weekends (Fri-Sun) include donuts. Another reviewer will have to chime in about the Dole Whip soft serve. They do have prepared food items such as jams, dressings, honey, and salsas. Was the end of our visit to South Haven, so had picked up a few "ugly" ripe tomatoes that'll be eaten right away when we're home.

Parking was surprisingly easy, and once we got started, it was a block and a half of a good time. Now, we did not buy much, but we did enjoy seeing everything and talking to a few people. We were especially excited to buy fruit directly from the farmers! I got a bunch of peaches and nectarines, and let me say I have never in my life tasted such good fruit! I also tried the homemade strawberry & rhubarb pie, and bought the homemade honey with cinnamon. I also especially liked how the Farmer's Market overlooked Silver Beach. It was a nice time, and I look forward to going back before the Farmer's Market season ends this year! Prices for produce is better than Dutch Farm Market near the highway. They have cauliflower, squash, pumpkins, ghost peppers, tomatillos, etc. Initially I wasn't sure which pumpkin to pick (since not all pumpkins are equal when it comes to baking) and luckily someone came in to restock and he was able to answer my questions. I look forward to stopping by on my next drive through Michigan!
