She is one of the greatest teachers I have experienced in my life knowing how well my daughter has progressed after she left the school. She has learnt to be independent while excelling at her studies at Lake Forest Elem. and thanks to Ms. Leslie and her awesome staff for everything. Now I have a 4 yrs. old son who is in his second year at the school enjoys every bit of his time and experience with the staff and his friends and has made tremendous progress just this past year. My wife and I have high regards and respect for what Ms Leslie and her staff has done for both our children. Hope you find this review helpful and do let us know if you have any questions.

The Montessori program with its hands-on approach has been so good for him. His fine motor coordination skills have improved so much, and he's singing all the time now. The calm, prepared environment immediately put him at ease, and we've watched his confidence, focus, and independence grow every day. We especially appreciate Miss Leslie's leadership. As the director, she's created such an amazing program--her experience and passion shine through in how she trains the teachers and connects with every child. We're so happy he'll be returning next year for full-day. We're truly grateful for such a nurturing start to his education--highly recommend!

He had a lot of separation anxiety when he was younger that I feel many daycares would have struggled with. They were extremely patient with him and over time he grew to love going to preschool to spend time with his teachers and friends. They have a great variety of activities that are fun and educational for the kids and you can tell they are very passionate about caring for their kids. They were always attentive to my son's individual needs and they quickly address any conflicts that inevitably arise. They send frequent photo updates on the kid's activities as well as updates on meals, naps etc. They can speak mandarin but it is not required and there are plenty of English only speaking kids there as well. Highly recommend if you are looking for a home based preschool.

We enrolled her…read morefor half days because her public Kindergarten was over at 11am and I needed her to have a full day of school when I returned to work full time. (Also I didn't feel like half day K was enough for her inquisitive mind.) The school was flexible about our unusual attendance arrangement, though understandably, it didn't cost much less for a half day slot vs. full day. They always made her feel welcome when she came in mid-day. She really loved it there, despite being a kid who chafes at rules at home - she really thrived in that environment. Teacher Angela was fantastic and they quickly gave my child appropriate work for her level since she started already knowing how to read and being able to do basic addition and subtraction. Their written evals were detailed and helpful, and I felt like they really got to know my child in a short time. Their summer program was fantastic and their extended care option was flexible for the times we needed a little extra care. They also had a fantastic "Parents Night Out" where they also welcomed siblings, and we took advantage of that a few times. This is a true Montessori, where kids are expected to learn how to be self-directed. We came from less-rigid Montessori schools, so getting used to the strict dress code was hard for us as parents, but my daughter was fine with it. Our daughter entered a rigorous Mandarin immersion program the next year in 1st grade, and Madrone prepared her VERY well for it. I'd highly recommend it if you are open to a more academic environment for your pre-K/kindergartner and want to encourage independence.

Our children have always been treated respectfully and kindly while receiving an exceptional education. Their education extends beyond the standard curriculum to art, music, grace and courtesy. Calling a school "Montessori" doesn't assure quality or traditional Montessori education. Sundance has give us that, plus a sense of community. If you're considering Montessori schools, look in to what a true Montessori classroom should look like before you start touring. You wont be disappointed with Sundance!

This preschool's website has misspellings and incorrect grammar on almost every page and some…read moreparagraphs failing to make any sense at all. I implore the site mgr to correct this above all things - this is a school for heaven's sake. I have info packets from four local Montessori programs laid out in front of me and not one mirror such strict and dare I say prestigious policies. Sundance has mandatory "volunteer" hours or you must pay an "opt out" fee. A very unfriendly withdrawal policy (Note a 30 day notification necessary - not including weekends and holidays, holidays which are not counted although you pay for might I add. This is just one among a very long, twisting list of roadblocks to getting your money back). Also the most expensive registration, materials and app fees of any Montessori in the area as best as my research can tell. The absolute clincher for me is the application process. I'm afraid with no other Montessori do they project such a prestigious attitude about "invitation" requirements to register after teacher/director/parent/child interviews and nonrefundable fees, of which it's stated constantly "is not a guarantee of acceptance." What could possibly be on a toddlers application that would constitute refusal? I can only conclude they are judging in other areas of which I do not dare to guess. After researching this school I come away with an impression of a historic university including their policies and prices. This is PRESCHOOL after all. Ever so sorry about the negative review. I would like it known my review does not impose opinion upon this institution's teachers, their abilities in their profession and/or dedication to it. My issues rely on the business sector of this preschool only. I invite members of staff here to contact me and correct any of my misconceptions.
