We absolutely love Guidepost! Our family has been part of this community for 4 years now between both of our daughters. Our oldest daughter thrived in their Spanish immersion program. Watching her learn to read in Spanish has been so rewarding - she was performing well above her peer level and entered kindergarten already ready for first grade. Now our youngest daughter has been in the class for some time too, and we're seeing the same great progress and love for learning. What truly sets this school apart is the teachers. They don't just educate but they genuinely love and care for them as if they were their own family. They are completely dedicated and having two children go through the program has only reinforced how great the environment is. The facility is consistently clean and safe, and we have complete trust in the staff. We feel totally comfortable knowing our kids are in great hands. The Montessori approach combined with Spanish immersion has given both our daughters such a strong foundation. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!! This place is a fraud. Guidepost Montessori at Folsom is a sham and does not even deserve 1 star. They will steal your money. This is not a school, but more like an overpriced and unqualified daycare. When I informed the administration of my complaints, they proceeded to defend their inadequate staff due to nepotism and did not refund my money for the month my kids did not attend due to bullying and poor teaching conditions. The elementary program has one teacher, Ms. Sangeetha, who encourages bullying, shame and treats her students with humiliation, as described by my 6 year old daughter at the time (she is 7 now and has vivid memories and stories of the terrible situation at that school). There is no learning, no homework or evidence that your child is even learning. I also reported Ms Sangeetha's inappropriate behavior of inviting my daughter on field trips without parental consent and not scheduling any meetings with us as parents to review my daughter's progress. My second child was in the toddler children's house with Ms Eva, who from my understanding, is not a Montessori trained teacher but rather simply the mother of another student in Ms Sangeetha's class. I reported Ms Eva and her assistant as being cold and ineffective. My 4 year old son informed us that both teachers left the children alone for long periods of time. He had a horrible experience and felt very neglected. He had a fall and giant knot/bump on his head on his first week there. Ms Eva also was an emotional wreck, who appeared to be crying on a daily basis. The staff that is hired here is questionable. There are "field trips" planned without parent consent or permission slips. My daughter had an accident at school and soiled herself and not one staff member alerted us or helped her. Our experience at this school was horrible and I am considering to take legal action based on the money that was taken from me and the neglect faced by my kids. read more

Our experience at Guidepost Montessori was unfortunately disappointing. While their website and social media present a beautiful image, the actual day-to-day experience falls far short, especially considering the very high tuition. We observed that the school cuts corners in several important areas: The Montessori environment is only partially implemented. They showcase 5 things well for appearances, but neglect the full scope of what a true Montessori program entails. Materials are rarely updated, and classrooms often rely on donations rather than investment from the school. Even basic things like the snack calendar are misrepresented -- what's listed is rarely what's served. Kids are often given repetitive, lower-quality snacks, which doesn't reflect the care or attention to detail you'd expect at this price point. Parent feedback is dismissed or ignored. After 8 months of giving thoughtful, written input, we received only vague responses like "we'll look into it," with no visible changes. Regional leadership is unresponsive, and concerns are routinely deflected without action. What's most telling: this is the only Montessori school in the area without a waitlist, yet it charges the highest tuition. Unfortunately, what you're paying for is mostly marketing and presentation--not substance. I would strongly encourage other parents to ask direct questions, observe multiple classrooms, and follow up on how concerns are actually handled. 5 star experience in the Nido and Toddler community but a 0 in Children's house-- settled on 2 stars. We had a very positive Nido and Toddler community experience. Ms Mimi's Nido community is 10/10. The guides in the classroom are warm and welcoming-- you can tell they love the little ones they work with! As soon as I met Ms Mimi, Ms Brooke, Ms Prasanthi and Ms Erika I was confident my baby would be in the best of hands. Leaving your child with teachers who express genuine love and concern for your child is the best feeling. I never left Ms Mimi's community feeling anxious or concerned because all of the guides were communicative and reassuring. I also learned so much from Ms Mimi regarding baby/toddler foods and activities! We had the same experience in Ms Margarita's Toddler community-- but she is not longer at Guidepost. Our experience in Children's House 6 was very disappointing. We felt a noticeable lack of warmth, connection, and engagement with the children--something especially important at this age. It often felt like we were dropping off our child without any real acknowledgment or personal connection. There was little to no effort to build a relationship with the students, and we rarely felt like our child was truly seen or known during the day. On our child's last day his "Lead" guide was not present and never reached out to say goodbye to our child--after 2.5 years at the Guidepost. At this critical stage in early childhood development, emotional safety, care, and connection should be foundational, and we did not feel that was present in this classroom. In addition, we had concerns with how communication was handled in regard to behavioral issues and physical altercations. Incidents involving our child were not reported to us in a timely manner--or at all in some cases--which made it difficult for us to address concerns appropriately at home or understand what was happening during the day. We expected more transparency and proactive updates from the teaching staff to ensure we were working as a team to support our child. read more

I do not recommend this place. I had both my sons here for two years. While things started well, the quality declined as the company lost funding and shut other locations. Staff are unqualified and lack relevant experience for their positions. The front desk cannot provide real help and only refers you to regional managers, who rarely respond to calls or emails. Tuition is extremely high, especially since most teachers are not Montessori-certified; most are only "in training" with no real progress. The Spanish Immersion program is ineffective, with very little Spanish actually spoken. While there are a few dedicated employees, they are overworked, underpaid, and cannot stay in those conditions. It was disappointing to leave after investing so much time and commitment in this school. I wasn't planning to write a review, but parents need to know that high tuition here does not mean high quality. A simple Google search about Guidepost will reveal all of the serious issues with its company culture, including a lack of loyalty to families and a toxic environment. read more

Our child has been attending the toddler Spanish program for several months now, and it has been life changing for our family. The guides are the kindest, most patient, gentle teachers, and our kid looks forward to seeing them every day. I have visited other day cares before and found some to be noisy, chaotic, crowded places. We are blown away by how spacious and clean the classroom is, how calm and peaceful the environment is, and how well behaved the children are in the toddler program. We appreciate so much that they serve the kids snack every day. Our kids LOVES snack time. They've even gotten our picky child to eat vegetables! Last week, they had a cooking lesson, and it was hilarious and adorable. They truly do things in this community that we would not be able to have time to do at home. Our baby is learning so much, but most importantly, loves to go to school every day and comes home laughing and happy. We also have been appreciative of the email communications from the guides and office staff and the friendly greetings we receive every morning at drop off. Some reviews about Guidepost are misleading because parents with children enrolled there may feel pressured to write positive comments to please the school. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. Miranda was the worst. The school lacks leadership and oversight over what teachers can do. My son was only four years old, and because he broke a few toys, he was labeled as a "bad" or "problem" child. This left him with lasting trauma about school that will take a long time to heal. Maybe other classrooms are better, but the Children's House with Miranda was terrible--unless your child is an unenergetic child who will obey her completely. Crazy how patience can go such a long way with a 3-year-old. My daughter was having a real rough time at Montessori Manor. I was not happy with the lack of transparency there. We had no clue what she was learning, what she was advanced at, or what she needed more attention with. At Guidepost, we receive updates daily of what she's working on in class, photos of her engaging, and weekly updates of Covid cases + protocol + resources. I truly appreciate the awareness, transparency, and attention to detail this facility provides. Ms. Priya has been a saving grace. She's our daughter's favorite. Our daughter was at Montesorri Manor from August through the end of November. She cried at every single drop-off, even till the last day. She's been at Guidepost Montessori since December but took a 2 week break for the holiday, had a hard time coming back but has happily transitioned without breaking a tear in a month's time. She is excited to go to school and share books with her friends. She looks forward to seeing her teachers and even asks to stay longer for snack time with Ms. Kelly. I adore watching her run to hug her teachers before we leave for the day. It took us 2 months before we were able to book a tour + a 6-month waitlist before our daughter was accepted into their Children's House program. Was it worth the wait? 100%. I would highly recommend others to apply early as this program in Folsom is a gem and I am now a complete advocate for this school. My son started early this year and since then he had always looked forward to go to his school. The whole staff is truly caring, teachers are devoted and the community has so much to offer. my grandchild attends guidepost and we had nothing but good things to say about the campus,( teachers specifically) but within the past couple months things have changed, younger children are with older children in multiple classrooms which causes worry and frequent bullying, and we were informed about an incident that happened at school and that started to uncover one of many other incidents that have happened on campus, seems like upper admin really needs to get some training about how to handle bullying. a lot of parents have left within the recent months and the leader of the school stepped down during a recent investigation.. not entirely sure what that consists of but reading the citation itself was enough for us to follow lead and look elsewhere. I think more transparency and actually taking bullying seriously would make a difference. admin should be trained to handle those situations appropriately read more

What can I say about Guidepost?? We love our Guidepost family! That is truly what they are to us!! Our son started at guidepost just after his 2nd birthday in the Toddler program. He has since moved on to the Child House program and he has grown leaps and bounds! Coming to guidepost he had little interaction with other kids, he wasn't used to being away from me, and he was so used to me doing everything for him. Guidepost gave him so much flexibility to grow and develop at his own pace. To socialize and make new friends, and to find his confidence and independence! We've also grown to love the staff. From the guides to the head of school, everyone is so kind, thoughtful, and genuinely interested in our son and all of his classmates. Amazing school and program. True to the Montessori methods. I was amazed at how independent my 2 year old son can be when he is allowed the opportunity. Our friends with kids of similar ages were surprised at the confidence he has, and his eagerness to be independent. We have him in the Spanish Immersion and within the first week he was saying "Hola! Como Estas?" The schools communication, especially during these challenging COVID times has been great as well. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and truly care for the children. When I pick him up, it's not just his core teachers that know who he is, the entire staff say bye to him as we leave. They really get to know the children and understand them. read more

The Elementary program at Guidepost Montessori has been so good for my 8-year-old this year. He learns best when he can choose what to work on and how long to spend on it, and those needs have been met by this program. We are lucky to have Mr. Dominic as the Lead Guide - he is calm, patient, and curious about children as human beings. Do not expect much for what *I believe* is the most expensive daycare in Folsom. We chose Guidepost for my child because they offered Spanish immersion. They fill the classroom beyond the legal teacher to student ratio (they actually got in trouble for this in 2022). They have no hesitation in communicating about their pricing structure increases, yet did not communicate expectations to parents about potty training and instead sent kids home with rashes and soiled clothes. At first I thought it only happened to us but later I found it out other families experienced the same thing. When I expressed concern about where my son was academically, they replied that it's entirely the parents responsibility to teach letters and numbers, to which I'm thinking, then what are we paying you for? read more

My daughter is in the Nido (baby) class and I can't say how much she's grown and learned in the short few months since she's started! The classroom is clean and warm and the guides are so wonderful and communicative. They have open shelves with materials for all the different aged babies so they're all able to learn. They really try to implement all things Montessori and allow them to eat on their own with utensils, etc. Of course it was hard in the beginning with all the germs but the admin is great about communicating anything contagious. I can't say enough about this school! First of all, they are open! But seriously just a wonderful program for my daughter. She started at 17 months and has grown immensely in the few months that she has been there. She's grown her vocabulary exponentially and her practical life skills are improving greatly. We selected Guidepost after touring several daycare/preschools in the area for our 10MO and have been thrilled with the experience so far. It's a calm environment with loving teachers that go the extra step to understand our son's personality and needs. We appreciate he's given plenty of space to explore, play and play outside. Guidepost offers a flexible schedule (drop off/pick up anytime), outdoor play area for the babies (fenced, private and safe) and loose structure for the littles (AKA they feed and nap based on their schedule, not the adults). And they've been super communicative and accommodating during the pandemic. We also love that they offer plenty of education, resources and webinars on everything from sensory activities to emotional regulation (through their online parent portal). And we're looking forward to either the Spanish or Mandarin immersion program when he's a bit older! read more

When we first moved here, we started out at another daycare and experienced poor communication (none around covid and other sicknesses with children) and never heard from the teacher. It has been amazing at Guidepost with great communication, a Spanish immersion program, and our daughter comes home every day telling us how much she loves all of her teachers and friends. My sons have attended Guidepost for 2 years and are thriving! I have one son in their Elementary program and one in their Children's House program. Both my boys are always so excited to come to school and are usually at the front door waiting for me to get ready to leave! I love that the elementary program has a low class size and lots of individual attention. I was very impressed with how much my sons Guide knew about him and his learning style. My son has a speech delay and his teacher and admin have been very accommodating to his needs and allowing speech services to come in to help my son. I appreciate how independent children are in the elementary program. They are in charge of their own lessons so they are always excited to learn! I was worried my son would only gravitate towards subjects he enjoys and I expressed my concern to his Guide. Mr. Dominic listened and reassured me that my son was still getting challenged academically while still getting to work on his favorite subjects. The sense of community I have witnessed has been incredible and so heartwarming. Completely different then any experience he would have at a public school where I was always afraid he would just get lost in the crowd. I have really enjoyed having my youngest in their Children's House program. You can see photos of the work they did throughout the day and we love to look through the pictures and discuss the jobs they worked on. Having these pictures available also helps us communicate about what they did all day and as a parent I appreciate seeing the detailed descriptions of exactly what they are learning with Montessori materials. My daughter started in March 2021 in the Toddler community, after a full year and a half of only seeing mom and dad and it only took her a couple of days to get used to the school and love going! That was such a relief for first time parents like us. We toured/spoke to a few schools in the area - some cheaper, some the same price - and Guidepost stood out with their admins, facility, and the guides! Ms Hailey and Ms Kate are so sweet and my daughter has grown so much in the little time she's been there. She loves everyone and is always mentioning their names. We are incredibly thankful that we found this preschool for our daughter! We looked at two other traditional preschools before this, and it was an easy decision after touring Guidepost Montessori. We have our boys at Guidepost and cannot say enough good things about this school. Our youngest is in the Nido (infant) program and our oldest is in the Spanish Children's House (preschool) program. Both boys love their classes and are learning and growing so much. As parents we love the transparency and open communication with staff. They have been excellent during the COVID craziness, always making the children's health and safety a priority with close monitoring for any symptoms, temp checks and small class sizes. My 8 month old LOVES being in their Nido program! We had a spot in another daycare but they temporarily closed due to COVID so we enrolled under the Emergency Care for Essential Workers program at a significantly reduced tuition rate. We were planning to have our little one start at the other daycare later on in the year but she loved it so much we decided to enroll in a permanent spot at Guidepost instead. When we drop her off she reaches for her teacher and she is all smiles when we pick her up. We get electronic updates (I.e. meals, diapers, naps) and sometimes pictures via the Transparent Classroom website. Tuition is auto-debited weekly through the Smart Care app. read more

My daughter has now been at the school in Ms. Beatriz's Spanish immersion class for almost two years, and is thriving. I had not previously had any experience with the Montessori philosophy, so it was an adjustment from the traditional pre-k programs my kids had been in, however I am now a huge proponent of Montessori. They truly foster independence and understanding more than memorization. The office and classrooms are beautiful and clean. The community of parents is also wonderful, and have developed friendships with several other parents. My daughters Spanish vocab and pronunciation has progressed significantly since she started. We started with Guidepost Montessori 3 months ago for unusual reason. I simply needed extended hours for my TK eligible child, I was not looking for Montessori experience in particular. 3 months later, I am beyond impressed and happy to share that.By now, with my kids we had experience with 2 different preschools, also public and private elementary schools. We loved all the places they went to. Teachers were kind and caring, we made friends, we made memories-and so will you, no matter where you go. So, why choose Guidepost Montessori?-small classes and low teachers turnoverThat allows for truly individual attention. Our guide, Mrs Priya,is phenomenal. She has been a teacher for 20 years. The feedback I get about my child does not just concentrate on the positive but has emphasis on what we should work on. It let my kid flourish ( and saved me a lot of headache).-Fostering independence.All preschools and parents foster independence, but Guidepost Montessori creates environment when it is fun, it is cool to be independent! I noted significant change in my kid after just three month of attending :" I can do it myself, I do not need help, I got it mommy!" -Strong academics.I am all about kids being kids and play ( by the way, they do play, plenty). But with advance of universal TK for 4 years old, educational landscape is changing. My friend's kid recently did not match into private kindergarten since he is not able to read and apparently, it was expected. Meanwhile, both TK and kindergarten are optional so I imagine in the past a lot of kids started first grade without knowing how to read. Best of all, Guidepost Montessori has elementary school as well, so your child can proceed at own rate, learning letters or do more advanced math or reading. -Strong community feeling. There is always something going on ( fall festival , Halloween party , pajama party, etc). It helps to meet other families and kids play together.-Everyone-teachers, administrator, director-are very helpful, easy to approach, friendly and generally appear to be happy to be there. It creates wonderful atmosphere.But the most important review of course, comes from my kid. One day I showed up earlier and my kid did not want to leave. "Why are you picking me up early, we are having fun!" I am so happy I found a place for my child where every day is a fun adventure helping my child grow. read more

Definitely not the school for us. Their office personnel do not give great information. The lady gave me the bare minimum on information for the school as well as gave me conflicting information about the financial aid process. There also was no transparency of all the fees, enrollment fee, holding fee and then the tuition as well as the cost to even apply for financial aid. This is a school for privileged kids, which apparently, we do not qualify. How broken our "American" school system is. read more
