The bride had found a few options online and we eventually voted on Mobile Make-Overs based on their professional website, reasonable pricing and nice photos. Tallora communicated with the bride prior, ensuring we sent through pictures of our desired vintage glamour looks (thank you, Pinterest!) and even arranged a discount based on our numbers and being a Friday. On the day, Tallora brought Toni, her hairdresser and Aria, her work experience girl along to the bride's house and together, the three of them worked their magic on the four of us. The way they broke up the beautifying tasks meant that nobody was stuck in a chair for ages and got to move around a bit and enjoy the morning. Their personalities and sense of humour meant they fitted right in to our group and became a real part of the celebrations. They listened to our needs and wants and worked with us to deliver the outcome of looking fabulous. From a technical perspective, Tallora used only professional quality make-up and individual lashes to create our faces but was happy for me to use my own lipstick so I could touch up later in the day. We got so many compliments in person and via Facebook comments that we now have a considerable amount of tickets on ourselves. I've come on here to look for other options nearby and thought I should leave my own review. They seem to have new girls all the time that are not professional. I understand that they struggle with English but they don't even give eye contact, smile or try. They just talk and laugh with each other all the time and tap your foot when they want you to move it. I'm not sure but I'm guessing they've trained on the job and for many of them it pays the rent but they hate it. After two really mad jobs in a row I'm not going back.

It takes something big for me to switch hairdressers (sorry, 'stylists')…read more I will only change to a stylist, not salon, that is recommended and even then only if the person recommending it has similar hair to mine and I like what has been done. I've left too many salons and burst into tears in my car to take any more risks. I went to a Rundle Street salon for years and even continued there when I moved interstate as, based on previous bad experiences, I was too nervous to find another. Thankfully I made regular trips home to Adelaide to visit family and booked in a cut and colour each trip. When my sister with similar locks switched salons, it was easy for me to follow suit. "I need a cut and colour and I'd like you do cut me a fringe just the same as you did my little sis." I told Richard, the owner and wizard with the scissors. He's also a makeup artist and specialises in getting that colour just right for your skin tone. I loved the result and have been going there ever since. The salon is open and modern with floor to ceiling glass on three sides offering views into the mall, over the rear car park and to the street - not all that exciting in themselves, but when you're waiting for colour to process it's magic, any people-watching activity is entertaining. Richard's built a passionate and professional team. They all have a great attitude with a focus on giving you the style you want rather than encouraging you to try the latest trend. Although if you are into the very latest, I'm sure they are up to the challenge.. The crew have that special ability to fuss over you without fussing over you. If you cape has slipped, they discreetly fix it. They notice as soon as your coffee or wine glass is empty and offer you another. They'll chat if you seem interested, but will leave you in peace to your magazine if your interest in conversation wanes. I have trouble sitting still while waiting for the timer for my colour to 'ding', so often wander about the salon and sometimes into the mall. There are comfy, black lounges with a stack of magazines and a flat screen TV that helps to break up the monotony, but before I know it, I hear the telltale buzzer and I'm at the sinks having a wonderful head massage and feeling the stresses of my week wash away. I haven't had it done myself, but they do makeup too. I usually get my hair done midweek, but I have a friend who has gone in on a Saturday and witnessed a bridal group all having makeup and hair done for that important (and very busy day). Perhaps a one-stop shop for brides. There are a number of awards listed on the entrance, but I'm not all that fussed about that. Here, I feel welcomed, listened to and walk out feeling a million bucks. Can't ask for more than that.

My family and I, happened to be in town having lunch, when my husband disappeared for a few mins only to return and tell me we are going to the hairdresser. They saw my hair, took pity on me and within a couple hours, George and team had corrected the horror on my head and replaced it with everything I originally had wanted from the first hairdresser. I felt welcomed, I felt important and was treated like a queen. I walked out of the salon feeling like a million bucks.
