Moreover, a week after by battery which was never an issue started randomly shutting on and off, and misjudging battery left by as much as 50%. I had been looking for a place that could unlock my HTC Wildfire for some time. This handset had been acquired in the UK and was locked to Tesco. For some reason this was an issue with the numerous online and physical phone repair businesses that I had approached. Fone Fix in Bondi junction solved my problem. The service was fairly relaxed and didn't exactly inspire confidence. The guys delivered though and I was mighty relieved that I had the use of my beloved little smart phone again. It took a few days mind you, and I never received a text on the day I was told I would. Furthermore, as I work fairly long hours I had to wait until a Thursday to collect as this is the only day they are open until 7pm. I arrived at about 6.50pm and... closed. Highly irritating but I forgave them when I eventually had a working phone in my hand. My advice? Be quite specific about the service levels that you expect and you should be fine. read more

Avoid this place at all costs - dishonest communication and rude service. They need to learn how to communicate honestly and respectfully with their customers. If they had been open and honest about the length of time it would take to repair the phone I would have been happy to have returned at a later date however they told me that they could repair it in an hour and it took 2 hours and I had to leave a friend waiting at Central Station. Then their eftpos machine did not work which they found out through the customer directly after me however the 'insinuation' was there initially that my card did not have sufficient funds. Then I tried to use my phone to transfer funds and the intuitive swipe was not working - again that was my 'fault' that I was not using the interface properly until the owner tried to do it and discovered that it would not work. I was then informed that they had to do one more thing to it, which they had not done previously as again my fault for being in a 'rush'. Concerning that they were going to omit an important part of the repair yet still charge the same amount and only for the 'problem with NAB terminal' taking place, I would never have known this. Another 10 minute wait and again no apology and then abuse as I left. Sean, if you are reading this - for your business to be successful it is essential to know how to communicate honestly and with respect towards your customer and learn how to accept feedback. I like to support local business so am sad that I have to write this review and hope that Fonefix will learn business success lies with excellent customer service. DO NOT USE - THIS COMPANY HAS THE MOST DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER i took my dual sim samsung to have the screen replaced and when i arrived back 90 mins later i saw a number of sms had just been received with a summary of roaming charges accumulating as the sim card manager had been changed from my local sim to my international sim for calls, texts and data. i raised the issue with the staff who denied any wrong doing and then was put on the phone the the arrogant british manager from their bondi store who told me its not his problem and to take it up with consumer affairs. They clearly (and im sure accidentally) changed the sim card settings but refused to own up to it, refused to offer any compensation, were extremely rude, and now i am left with a bill that reached over $200 which i now have to pay myself This is absolutely disgusting customer service, they clearly changed the settings somehow as they obviously were not set like that when i dropped in the phone, then blatantly and repeatedly denied any responsibility. The manager was the most arrogant person ive dealt with in years and the way he deals with any issues is just to Deny Deny Deny any wrongdoing when they were clearly in the wrong. will never use again read more

Do not get your phone fixed here! My iphone 6 screen was replaced here and then after 3 months the whole screen popped out, I was able to push it back in but then it happened again and I took it into the shop and they would not replace the screen and wanted to charge me $130. Apparently the warranty is only for 3 months!!! I went to iexberts who have a life time warranty and had it fixed there for the same price. Extremely dissapointed with the service at fon fix, it was not due to any fault of mine that the screen kept popping out. Faulty workmanship on their behalf! I'm one of those people who only write reviews for extremely unsatisfactory customer experiences. I can deal with bad manners if I get the service, but in this case it was a double whammy. It started off with the owner Shaun and his team taking 3 days (longer than advised) to replace the screen of my phone. That would have sufficed, but him/his technician failed to take due care by using a quality adhesive and/or diligence and I noticed the screen becoming detached from the body of the phone when I arrived home 15 MINUTES later. Similarly, the camera was not working (it previously was when dropped off) and when enquirers were made over the phone, Shaun became very rude and argumentative and failed to not only take responsibility for the below-par job, but the sudden non-working camera. Consumer Affairs was mentioned and Shaun finally said he would fix both if I didn't attend the store ever again! Talk about shocking customer service albeit Shaun, I'm more than happy to obey. Other issues occurred including ineffective and untimely communication regarding the phone's camera stock, Shaun's in-store attitude, and servicing speed. Fast forward a few weeks later and the corner of the screen started detaching from the chassis of the phone again. It's usable but unsightly and gathers dust - it will eventually need fixing. Consumer Affairs is too much effort, this is more effective. read more
