What can I say? I needed help right away, and I was able to get it through J. I had found his website via a google search, so I decided to do a consult with him. His office is convenient located and staff are all really nice. I had needed a TN visa, but my employer had a difficult time understanding what the TN visa was and the legality of it all. So when I went to J, I had already done a lot of research on a TN visa, and J was able to confirm with me a lot of the details. Coincidentally, J actually knew one of my employers, and offered to make a personal phone call for me to try to explain to him what my visa was about. That was one magical phone call. My employer wouldn't sign the letter previously, but after he made the phone call, my employer gave me what I needed. However, when I went to Canada to the port of entry for my TN, I was rejected. I contacted J immediately to see what I needed to do and he gladly answered the questions I had. He even offered to help write whatever else I needed. When we finally asked him to manage our application, he told us that we could probably fill out the paperwork ourselves. We hired him to do it anyway, and we're glad we did. My husband and I chose Mr. Jay C. Fong after talking to several other lawyers in Los Angeles. I read a review about him and the fact that it was describing him as very compassionate, yet extremely professional, caught my attention and so we decided to give it a try. We got married last year and I'm from Europe, he's much younger than me and I had a previously denied visa application with another lawyer so I needed a good lawyer who would help us with the papers and be with us at the interview. On our first free consultation he went through the entire procedure in details, told us what was needed and unlike other lawyers who had seemed simply too optimistic in terms of when I would receive the notice for fingerprints or the notice for interview with the Immigration etc, he proved to be very honest and realistic about it. However I received all the notices within the times he said if not earlier. He is knowledgeable, straightforward yet friendly and really seems to know the immigration field like the back of his hands. Also we didn't feel pressured to sign anything on our first meeting. Afterwards I was able to call his law firm and ask him further questions. When I finally made up my mind and asked if we could pay the fee in installments he gladly accepted and when in one occasion we had difficulty paying our monthly fee he pushed back the monthly charge. His assistant Karla also proved to be essential, she called us several times to remind us of missing documents, deadlines and helped us fill in the forms. After dealing with lawyers who very often didn't return my phone calls or were never reacheable, I enjoyed very much having someone like Karla on our side. They met us halfway in everything. Mr. Fong answered all my questions and doubts, spoke to me over the phone several times when I needed to be reassuered about something, which happened quite often as I am a very, and I'll repeat very, anxious person. He then prepared us carefully for the interview, even staging a "worst case scenario" one and frankly spoke to us about the possible problems we could encounter at the interview, which actually ended up incredibly smooth. Eileen is the best lawyer that I have ever met. My whole H1B case was very complicated. My first H1B petition was handled by another lawyer "KG". He and his staff are the most irresponsible people I have ever met. They caused a lot of drama with my first application. After they took a very long time preparing my application, regardless of my urgent situation, USCIS first issued an RFE (Request for Evidence) then rejected my 1st H1B petition. It was extremely disappointing for me because if I had to leave the US, not only would I lose my job but I also would be forced to leave my partner. Because we are a same-sex couple and the government does not recognize our relationship the same as straight couples, he cannot sponsor me a green card. I basically had no other option. Luckily, a friend introduced me to Eileen and she looked through my case and invited me to her office for consultation. Her recommendation was for me to re-file for an H1B and she believed that she could help me. She was so nice and made us feel so comfortable with her. We could also see that she was very knowledgeable and organized even just in the first consultation. Therefore, we were very confident to have Eileen prepare the application for me to re-file my H1B petition. She started to work with my employer and it took only TWO weeks (YES! 2 WEEKS) for her to prepare all of my documents and the whole application.
