Side note : 10/28 6pm - The City of Fresno sued MONTE LEE EVANS and JAMES RAY EVANS and 2 others…read morefor BREACH OF CONTRACT/WARRANTY something like that. It is a matter a public record. They listed both of their names as a married couple on their Ficitious business license paperwork. Now it only lists the wife. I wonder why? His name is also crossed out of the court papers she filed. What's that about? Fresno Dispatch is just moments ago is very certain that Monte has every right to keep my truck. Apparently they always call the business. Ok , fine. They should just say that. I don't care. Monte had copy of my ID. Why is it not clear on the police report that it was PD that called the business, instead of the other way around? Why is there no mention of why I actually called? The only evidence MONTE EVANS has is incomplete, technically inadequate and legally worthless. She has ZERO evidence proper legal notification was given to the registered owner of the vehicle. She has put their tow license and their law enforcement contract in jeopardy not me. What reason would I have to get them kicked off the Fresno Tow Rotation? I JUST WANT MY TRUCK. Are they in compliance with all licensing requirements? They only do LAW ENFORCEMENT TOWS. No AAA tows, roadside assistance tows, or PRIVATE PROPERTY TOWS. So why take this one? Because FPD recommended them? IDK. They survive off of your tax dollars and government employees giving them business/customers and then charging you or your auto insurance company ridiculous ransom for the release of your vehicle. And it just went up people. Alleged criminals and actual accident victims are easy prey. How can they charge $233 hookup & $56/ day? I was quoted $56 for a "simple" private tow 4miles or less. Long term parking at FYI is $12/day. Drive in, park, get on a plane... it can sit there for 30 days before I even have to check on it. AND I can access it 7 days a week 24hrs a day? Update10/24 court...posted 10/28: We finally went to court. I admit I had technical difficulties and couldn't get "some" of my evidence to print. As the defendant I had a right to ask for a continuance. Monte Evans, as the plaintiff, was also ready to ask for a continuance. Why? Because she was not prepared!?!?! Why? Because she didn't think I would show up! Her words. I have since found out that she can't do that. If we had stood in front of a judge, she would have lost. She filed the lawsuit. She still refuses to release my vehicle, even after 135 days. She also admitted the day I called the police to make sure I had all the paperwork I was supposed to have??? I thought she also called the police on me. No, she didn't. Fresno PD Dispatch called Monte. Suzette Schlundt (call taker) handed the call off to Emily Noel for dispatch and then called Monte Evans herself. She entered Monte's negative comments about me into an official police report. When I called in I told Suzette, I didn't have "enough" money to pay all at once. Suzette enters it as " RP is refusing to pay what is owed." Which is a flat out lie. Police then contacted Monte 1st, when the 2 cops cars showed up. Video on You-Tube. Third cop car just didn't have anything better to do. Three officers didn't bother to double check the law. They just told me it's a civil matter. Oh and that I had a 30 yr old warrant? Unbiased Community Policing? Did everyone know the City just doubled our police liability budget from 2 million to 4 million? Monte - you can create an e-mail address for free. It's real easy. The improper tow order and the lack of notification to the registered owner are going to cause you to lose this case. The fact that I was parked under some signage does not negate Rays Tow of that responsibility. I am going to TRY to use this new evidence to get your buddies at FPD to force you to return my property. I doubt it will do any good. But I have actual laws to quote this time. How you have not reliazed you are out of compliance on this?

Unethical business takes advantage of accident victims to make money. I was hit by a driver running…read morea red light and taken by ambulance to the hospital. While in the ambulance, the tow company refused to take my car to my home as requested or accept a credit card. "We don't take credit cards." The totaled car was taken to their yard where I was told that 'the insurance company should take care of it..' 2 weeks later, when it was apparent that the insurance company would NOT be taking care of it, this tow company had no problem taking my credit card and towing the car to my home. The bill was $1,366.00 which I then paid on my credit card! Apparently, as they then told me, there were cars on the lot for months where the insurance company and the owner were still disputing the $40.00 daily impound fees. In that time, these cars had racked up thousands of dollars in bills. OH, NOW YOU TELL ME! They smile in your face all the while knowing they'll be making a ton of money off you and your confusion from a terrible accident. Thanks a lot for taking advantage of me when I in a car accident. Shame on YOU! You should have taken the car to my home as I requested and put it on my credit card. There's a whole industry taking advantage of folks in terrible, tragic accidents and my experience started with Ray's Towing and a completely unnecessary $1,366.00 bill to me on top of the ordeal. IF you're ever in an accident, get your car out of impound immediately! -G
