    Italian 6" with everything

Best Italian sandwiches in the burbs! They honestly do everything exactly correct for an Italian sandwich, and that's not easy to find. My husband and I tried the Italian as well as the Della because we also love mortadella, but both were absolutely delicious!! We definitely plan to try out more of their menu, and feel so fortunate to have actually FINALLY found a true authentic Italian deli/restaurant in our area.

Best Italian in Naperville!!!!! Yep - sub shop up front & spectacular home cooked Italian by Felipe & family in the back. A family favorite for 10+ years you can't beat the quality, service or appreciate the attention to detail. It's not fancy but it's everything you want to an exceptional meal. Start w Fontina bread (think cheesy garlic bread) - and every the regular bread is delicious & baked on site, enjoy a salad & then my all time fav - the chicken parm w gnocchi!!! Lick the plate good. Speaking of licking the plate, the girls LOVE the vodka sauce - they want to go almost every week for the rigatoni w shrimp in the vodka sauce. We typically had resisted desert, but Daniel talked us into bringing the chocolate cake home & it's.....delicious....get started and never put the spoon down. Go, go, gooooo

What I THOUGHT I was getting from a small rustic Italian restaurant for a chicken parm.

I gave this place several chances over a period of time. My co-workers eat here, but they will eat anything. Here are my takeaways from about 6 occasions where my job ordered us food. I have won the battle to stop going there. They almost NEVER read instructions when we order. If you want something done special, go in person; they will never get it right. They cook everything in the same grease, so the fries WILL taste like calamari. You have been warned. They are a little shady. I ordered a sandwich, and they gave me day-old bread that was rock hard. I had to turn around and return it because I checked it in the parking lot. I think places like this bank on you not checking until you are far away. I want to trust a local spot, but you can't. The Chicken Parmesan is previously frozen, kid-size chicken tenders, and it tastes like it. Sloppy food. The sandwiches are thrown together so sloppily, large, strong onions, ingredients haphazardly thrown about. Inconsistent. Sometimes the food is super salty; sometimes, super bland.

Ordered delivery. Penne arrabiata was not spicy at all. The garlic bread wasn't very garlicy. Ravioli had too much sauce.

It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Lots of fun deli sandwiches to choose from. I chose a French Dip; hubby had a pick two-- a cup of matzo ball soup, and 1/2 corned beef sandwich. Both served with a whole new pickle. Mine was absolutely delicious. Tons of beef, melty swiss, and grilled onion. Served nice and hot with a tasty au jus. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his as well. Great Jewish deli. Highly recommend whether you're Jewish or not! ;)

Gets crowded. The menu features lots of salads and sandwiches like any deli should have really. Basically it has many of the classics. It's one of those places you order at the counter and they bring it out. There's also many of the customers who get takeout. A bad thing is it can take a long time to get anything. Lots of times they're really slow. It's about $10 for a Beyond Burger. This is one of the main vegetarian options. A pretty typical one with the basic toppings but nothing special to be honest. Of course there's lots of paninis filled with meat. There's also the Reuben made with the classic corned beef, or it can be made with pastrami. Also has it available as vegetarian made with mushrooms. The rest of the menu has the typical stuff like chicken salad and egg salad. For sure it's a great place at lunch except for being crowded. It's located on 75th Street at Millbrook. The place is always crowded so most seem to get takeout.
