Came to Fiammé for a business dinner. I started with one of their mules, which was pretty decent, just a standard mule. We also shared the arancini as an appetizer. I've had some really great arancini before, and these were alright. The sauce was the highlight, with a nice flavor and a slight kick to it. We were told the pizzas were personal-sized, so everyone in our group ordered their own. When they arrived, they were huge. I went with the Fredo, a more traditional-style pizza, and it was pretty solid with good toppings and flavor. Others at the table ordered the Detroit-style pizzas, and they looked incredible, I wish I had taken some photos. The general consensus was that the pizzas were a bit too bready, but they had good flavor, great presentation, and a nice crispy crust. Service was okay. It took a while for our server to take our order, and I wish we had been advised to share a few pizzas instead of ordering individually. We all ended up taking most of our pizzas to go, but with dinners planned throughout the rest of the trip, they unfortunately didn't get eaten later. In the ongoing saga of trying to find a restaurant that works for all three of us: my vegan wife, me (a very NOT vegan) and our picky 8-year old, tonight's episode took place at Fiammé in downtown Naperville. Its very hard to find spots that can accommodate our very particular palates, and even more hard to find good vegan options outside of the city. Thats why I was excited to find this lovely Italian restaurant. The parking lot is small but there's a good amount of sidestreet parking. The inside is warm, cozy and super clean (including the restrooms ). The hospitality stood out right away. The owners and wait staff were very welcoming, and our server was fantastic; honest (which I appreciate), knew the menu well, and once she realized our situation, gave us some wonderful direction on what to order. I wouldn't say that the menu is overwhelming, but I rarely go to a restaurant where it takes me that long to decide what I want. There are lots of interesting options, from braised short rib ravioli to baked ziti, and several tasty appetizers (highly recommend the calamari). But we had come for the PIZZA. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza. It was surprisingly bigger than we thought, and at a great price. The kid only ate half before she said, "I like it...this might be better than [insert famous Chicago pizza brand]." (you MUST KNOW that this is high praise from a 3rd grader). My wife ordered the "They Don't Have Beef With Me" vegan Detroit-style pizza, and I have to admit, it was very good. Somehow they pulled off a buttery (but not butter) crust with melty vegan cheese (but NOT cheese ). Absolutely nailed it. I would have eaten more of hers if I hadn't ordered the Butcher pizza from the wood-fired menu. It was OUTSTANDING. Great flavor, perfect texture. Easily one of thee best wood-fired pizzas I've ever had. We're not drinkers, but they do have a good wine list and some nice zero-proof options, including the Amber Apple and The Drip. We didn't make it to dessert, mostly because the portions are generous, so our bellies (and our to-go boxes) were full. We will definitely be back to try other menu options and for dessert. If your family or friend group includes picky palates or dietary restrictions (the pizzas can be made gluten-free as well), then run...don't walk...to Fiammé. 100/10 recommend. read more

Very cute on the inside with the string lights and cozy feel and I'm sure would be wonderful sitting outside when it's nice out. Make sure to make a reservation because they do get busy, and not be in a hurry because it is smaller inside so you may have to wait after your reservation time to be seated depending on table availability. The food was delicious - we started with the mozzarella sticks - SO GOOD. I ordered the vegetable wood fired pizza and it was good, my husband ordered the Detroit Style double pepperoni and it was also very yummy. We got there when they opened and the parking was not very good. The building itself and inside was super nice and clean and they had a nice patio that we couldn't be on because it was raining. The service was great from our waiter and from the host. We got everything we needed when we wanted it. Everybody really liked their food. I got the Detroit style cheese pizza, which was delicious and very filling. My mom got the chicken Parm, which I had some, and it was very good. The chicken itself was thinner with more breading, which I like, because I don't like the big thick chicken in my opinion. My sister got the short rib ravioli, which she said was amazing. I didn't take a picture because the way they put the sauce you can't really see the food. My dad got the other Pizza that I didn't put a caption for which he enjoyed and so did my mom. At the end, we got a surprise because it was on my birthday. They brought us funnel cake nachos which were really good and even though we were all full, we devoured it. Not gonna lie I always think of Fiamme as a pizza place but their eggplant Parmesan was the best I have found in a while! Being a vegetarian, I'm always looking for something enjoyable that isn't just a salad or a side dish. This was one of my favorite dinners I've had in a while. It was also a big portion so I had leftovers to eat again for lunch the next day. It was a great place to meet some old coworkers and we sat outside on the patio in the spring. Drink (the drip) 1/5: I would recommend muddling the black berries to get more of the flavor otherwise it just tasted like minty soda water. Food 2/5 Veggie zucchini 2/5: the breading was thin which I don't mind but would probably try something different next time. Baked Zita 2/5: this was okay I was looking for a little more flavor. Their menu is smaller, with less Neapolitan pizza options but they have both ted and white (plain) pizza options available. They have some of the typical staples and I also noticed they now have Detroit style pizza which was not available a long time ago. Our server was really sweet and patient - accidentally knocked over water but we had the cloth and mats quickly replaced :) Wood fired roasted veggie pizza - the toppings are floppy and can fall off, but our crust was crispy enough to hold it up. I haven't been here in years but I suggested Lou Malnatti's and everyone else said Fiamme so I went along for the ride. The food was excellent, they have a great selection of beers, they have table/booths and the best server in the world, Frank. He was a real "fun guy". We have been to this restaurant for my birthday dinner recently. They offered free bread service. The ambience was decent and it's good that their patio is open for summer, although the seating is not comfortable. We are vegetarians and we customised all the items without meat and fish. The Detroit style pizza was burnt on the edges, the pasta was undercooked, and the pesto linguine came with shrimp despite telling them to remove meat. The arancini was decent. I'm so glad we were able to take some friends from out of town to Fiammé. They flew in from New York with two young kids (one was an infant) and we brought our baby as well. I really enjoyed this appetizer. Short rib ravioli with vodka sauce: my biggest issue was that it was cold and served before I was done with the appetizer. They weren't even busy so it shouldn't have been served cold. The flavors were just ok. Chocolate lava cake: very average, kind of dry. Thought it would have a stronger chocolate flavor. Lemon cake: tasty and refreshing (tried some of my husbands) My son had a sausage pizza. It was just ok. As soon as it got cold it wasn't good. Just tasted soggy. Abby is the reason for my 5 star review. My sister has celiac disease and must avoid even the slightest trace of gluten. Fiamme not only offers gluten free options, but have a dedicated area in their kitchen to prepare them. Abby was the best server, very informed and friendly. We all had the Detroit crust pizzas, and it was incredible. We finished with the gluten free cheesecake, I recommend. The restaurant had cute decor, tinkle lights and vines strung above. Being in downtown Naperville, parking sucks the restaurant has a lot that accommodates only about 6-7 cars due to their large outdoor patio seating otherwise you're parking down the street. I got lucky and was able to find a spot in their lot. When you walk in, you go through their outdoor seating area which has plenty of options. Great spot to go when the weather is nice. We had a very enjoyable lunch with their outdoor seating over the summer on a Saturday: 1) Our toddler girls were provided with high chairs, crayons, coloring paper, and glasses of water with lids before we even requested them. 2) Menus can be viewed from our phone via scanning the QR code so that is super convenient and prohibits paper waste. 3) We ordered three items to share: veggie frites, funghi pizza, and shrimp pesto linguine. The food was quick to arrive and the portions were standard. When both adults and toddlers enjoyed the food, it is an automatic guarantee of a return! Our girls typically enjoy pizza and pasta so it was not out of the ordinary for them to dig into those. But to my amazement, they also enjoyed the veggie frites. Ok the linguine was so freaking delicious I actually slowed down to eat it (I'm a server and I tend to inhale my food because I'm not used to eating leisurely), it was **heavenly** and I would go back specifically for this. I'm really confused how this place has 4 stars on Yelp. Naperville is better than this, and the people of Naperville should have higher standards than this. I've passed this place about 1,000 times so decided to give it a try. Heard from 2 trusted individuals it's not good but still wanted to try it out. This is our second experience in Naperville ordering our drinks and appetizers at the same time and getting the appetizers served well before the drinks. I blame our waiter for this, he seemed to be in a fog. Next star removed because the calamari is served as a salad. I'm sure this is just to fill the plate with greenery. No one wants their calamari to be in a salad. Next star removed because the burrata was served cold and the red sauce or whatever it was tasted like it came from a can.
