I'm not sure if the cashier was having a bad day or something, but I was in line with a couple friends getting snacks and there was an older man in front of me getting his things scanned and the cashier accidentally scanned some of our things with his and she was like "who's things are these" and we responded and said "it's ours" and she said rudely "well I wouldn't know people don't use the dividers" and she quite literally threw them onto the conveyer belt. Me and my friends were confused and just stood there waiting for our turn and one of the cashiers friends was in line hyping her up saying "yes girl do it" and she got confused bc she thought she said "Idk how u do it" and she was like "yea idk how either" before she noticed. Anyways, me and my friends stayed quiet, and then she walks by us and says "look now I have them all scared" and they laughed and we just stood there like side eyeing eachother. Next, she starts scanning our things and I'm standing next to the card scanner and my bf was paying so he was right next to me, my other friend was behind me and I saw her scoot back so the cashier can pass, and the cashier said excuse me and I didnt move because I knew my friend had moved enough for her to pass by to scan at the end of the conveyer belt. So when she comes back she shoves me and my purse and says "I know u heard me" and I said "yea I heard u but why would I move when my friend already moved to give u space" and then we started all arguing and her friend was telling us to respect her and we were telling her respect goes both ways and that she's arguing with 20 year olds. She started getting closer idk what she was trying to do but the rest of the food 4 less crew came and was going to her side so we got our stuff and left and as we left they were still saying stuff. Seems like a fine Food 4 Less location to me. I found everything I needed at a reasonable price and no issues with the checkout. I went in the early morning so the lines were non existent and there was plenty of fully stocked shelves. I got eggs, bacon, and condiments for breakfast. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes here. They're definitely on the old school side of technology. All of the frozen items were stored in upright freezers which was a blast from the past. It felt like I was in a time warp back to the '90s. They have a deli and fully staffed meat department as well. A-OK in my book. read more

Today (2-06-2022 @ 1pm) I went to exchange something that my Instacart person got wrong. I got in line to pay for my stuff and exchange the product and the checker Cruziee got extremely upset. Not my first choice to go grocery shopping but its the closest one to my house and prices are definitely cheaper than SaveMart. There are definitely some things I wouldn't buy here like most of the produce, but I'm quite picky when it comes to things I will be consuming. Beer is definitely cheaper here than anywhere else in town, or atleast the beer I buy for the boys (Blue Moon.) Things like coffee, cookies, cake mix, frozen items, some other alcohol are also cheaper. The one thing I HATE about this place is that they don't accept credit cards. They do take debit cards though, and EBT (food stamps?) and of course cash. Seems a little out of date to me and very inconvenient for those of us that prefer to not carry cash. read more

Attention los banos !!!! Yesterday December 21 I bought milk here the milk was marked for Jan 5th I gave it to my daughter as her bed time bottle... She woke up throwing up and has been ill all morning. To top it off the douch of a director Boyd fuller blew me off and didn't care my daughter was sick but even worse was not concerned if other people get sick because he left the milk on the shelves if one was but stored right they all weren't. My choice supermarket. Their prices are definitely cheaper than other markets in LB, but sometimes their produce can be a bit old. For canned goods, frozen foods and drinks, Food4Less definitely has a good selection. They are open 24 hours, but if you shop late at night (after 10pm), they are usually stocking shelves, so it can be a bit of a challenge to maneuver around the store. read more

Prices are reasonable.. I went here the night before thanksgiving, Glad to say i found everything i need but the cashier who checked us out was very unfriendly. She didn't greet us, not even a "Hi". I enjoy food for less. The prices are great and you get alot for your buck. I would suggest shopping during the weekdays morning hours to avoid lines in the check outs as with any store.. happy shopping! read more

I have taken nearly identical lists to both Save Mart and Food 4 Less and found that there isn't that much difference. The produce and meat at Food is dicey at best, however. Produce always seems a bit past peak freshness and the meat I have bought there was questionable also. They have good prices on dairy products and canned good. The alcohol is only the top selling items, so poor beer and wine selection. read more

I was driving though town and decided to stop. This is the cleanest food max I have ever seen with the nicest employees. The man in produce, stocker and the checkstand lady were so pleasant and helpful. Yeah I found out about that first hand! The produce being a bit old. We were almost done getting things and I was getting something near the "fresh" herbs and I picked one up and in the metal tray underneath the herbs was water with things/growies in it! I need to remember to complain to Corporate about their stores lack of cleanliness, seriously? things growing in the water under "fresh" herbs, are you kidding Food 4 Less!? Wonderful store. Just got back. As I was walking in on a cane (hurt my ankle) the cart guy Jose T. ran up to me and asked if I would like one of the motorized cart. Of course I said yes. I do all my shopping here. Love the people the food is good and of course the prices cannot be beat. By the way the other Grocery store here did not help as well when I needed one of the carts for my elderly grandmother a few weeks back. Best grocery prices in town. Yes, sometimes the produce is not the best, but it is certainly as good as Save Mart's and the produce handlers are gentler! (Like anything else, be careful when choosing!) Their eggs are hardly ever cracked too (unlike Save Mart where there's a cracked egg in every dozen). Their new weekend BBQ is DELICIOUS!!! Getting a perfectly grilled tri-tip on my way out of the store is a delicious convenience and well worth it! The employees are helpful, and the management is friendly, responsive, and active in the community! Thanks for saving my family lots of $$$$$!!!! read more

I shopped at Food Maxx in Turlock Ca and always found everything I needed at great quality. I was happy when I moved and found a Food 4 Less as I thought it would be comparable. No it is not. All the meat is prepackaged/ no butcher. The potatoes are always half bad in the bags. The pricing is terrible on everything. Some items are even more than Walmart. If it is even stocked... ie. apple juice. They want all even heavy items on the belt. Oh and don't try to use a credit card, that's right this huge grocery store does not accept credit cards. I guess I will have to start bulk shopping out of the area. Yay :( read more

I shop Food4Less all the time and rarely have a problem . My problem is with people like Samantha D . who accused them of getting her kid sick when she really has no idea what the problem was . It could have just as easily been something that child ate or drank 2 days before or maybe a virus or bacterial infection . It's time to start suing idiots like this . Make her stand up in court and prove that the milk from that store got her kid sick .If she can't then she should just shut her stupid mouth . Businesses have been badly damaged or even ruined by irresponsible morons just shooting off their stupid mouths . Samantha is a perfect example .
