This is in reference to the pharmacy, Tell me Why would the pharmacy send over my headache medicine to another pharmacy that I've never been to? I didn't ask for this either.. the Pharmacy in Abingdon was going transfer it, then found out it was transferred to another place, they advised me to find out why they did that, when I didn't authorize it! I tried calling this location and they never answered, I tried calling the GM and held tight for 10 minute, and no answer, also as many times as I have told your pharmacy to text when ready, they only did it once, thats not ok either! This review is about the deli. We came on a Sunday planning to grab a few items and pick up chicken and sides for lunch. We have recently moved here and, in Illinois, this was pretty easy to get. We would go to our Jewel Deli, get chicken and some sides, and head home. Here I found that the person behind the counter told me to walk to the other side of the store, which I did, to get prepackaged chicken, which they were out of. So I came back and it was CLEARLY OBVIOUS that this lady did not want to help us. She ran behind the doors and didn't come out for some time; by then we decided to just leave and go to Bojangles and just pay more. Hands down, I will never go to the deli at this store again. read more

The store is clean, well stocked and organized. I am not too happy with the produce dept. I have purchased cucumbers which had apparently been frozen and inedible. Packaged salads are iffy... sometimes the stick is plentiful and look fresh other times not so much. read more

I was at the Euclid Ave. store about 430 Sunday. i want to compliment you on how great the store looked . The meat dept. was in great shape. Produce was wonderful. I went in for couple items and came out with over 100 dollars worth. would especially like to give the young gentleman on register 3 a 5+ rating friendly and smiling Ask all the right questions and had a nice sendoff. will be back to that store again, even if I do live in Kingsport area. Price gouging by your community grocery chain. Instead of supporting the community during uncertain times, they are taking advantage. Publix, kroger, Walmart isn't gouging to the extreme...yet food city is. FYI, food country uses same meat vendor at a $1 less per pound. My Google review of abingdon, va food city (where I bought this meat) was erased in a day. Let's see if this one gets erased, as well. read more

This store has got to be 1 of the worst grocery stores I have ever been in and I don't understand where these positive reviews come from they must be old or its employees writing them ,first let me start out but saying I can't count how many times I've purchased expired items and not realize it until we eat it I don't have time to check every item when I'm shopping and really I should not have to also for the past month I've been noticing they haven't been ordering the big bottles of coffee mate creamer they have every flavored creamer under the sun except the reg.flavor also the scapple they say they order it but can no longer get it. I been asking them every time I go in for the past 3months but says it's avilable on the website and 1more thing the other night I went in I was going to get a cheeseburger the older lady said the cook left early sick we don't have a cook I said you don't have a cook at 6:00 it's dinner time .. Food City why don't you have a second cook for back up seems to me that would be a good idea so with all that's been said I'll just start shopping at Krogers or another food city I don't mind driving out of my way to get fresh food and good customer service . read more

Great store, but I have found evidence of mice on the shelves twice now. I even gave them a business card for a better exterminator,the mice are still there! Brand new shipment of chex mix all chewed with holes in it. Same place I notified them of last time! read more

Just visited this store and tried to purchase a gift card through self check out which I was told I could not do. It was extremely busy and that is all I was buying which I was told I would have to go through a line. How is that customer service when you are making someone wait behind carts of groceries????? Maybe they should ask Walmart about the program they have where you can purchase a gift card without having to stand in line!!!! read more

Food city I'm so upset with your employees i take my granddaughter with me to your store around 645PM Monday January 27th go to deli to get her a cookie and some meat stood there for 15 minutes and no one ever waited on use my 4 year old granddaughter was like its ok papaw but no it wasn't so i was going to by her 12 pack of cookies then we started finishing our shopping so we get done get to check out guy start ringing use up i realized that i was missind a hundred dollars out of my wallet so i telll him we on a budget i may have to put something's back that i was missing some money he starts ringing our stuff up and after 10 items some how was showing over a hundred dollars i was like wait hold on said several times couldn't pay me know more mind like we weren't even there to busy cutting up with the other two employees he just kept ringing up the groceries so i was like dude if you can't pay attention to use we will go somewhere else apparantly he didn't care so tonight you missed out on at least 150 dollars on groceries i will not be treated like this nor will my family dont think we will be back to your store just depends on how you all handle this and how Steve Johnson handles this heck you all may not care that we have been loyal customers at you store for the last 26 years but 800 dollars a month for that is a lot of money if this was the first time with issues at your store i would have let it ride but my family has had mutable issues with how your employees act there is nothing wrong with having fun at work but the customer's come first read more

Nice little grocery store with great shopping carts. I haven't had a bum wheel yet! Oh you know the one, one wheel dancing a pirouette while the others stay in line. I hate those carts and I'm always aisles in before it becomes an obvious issue. Sometimes already far too committed to the produce section to turn back for a cart trade. But I'll always pause to debate, "Is it worth emptying all my stuff out or can I tolerate the annoying rogue wheel? It's things like good carts that set the stage for a shopping trip. Like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Could potentially be a deal breaker. With that said... I found Food City to be a pleasant store. My only complaint is that they don't sell my brand of bread, they have no tortilla options other than corn or flour and I could not for the life of me locate quinoa as a stand alone product without some additive. I was, however, able to find some familiar organic options, ground turkey and they had great deals on wine, so that made up for it. read more

I try to avoid Food City all together. However I made the mistake of shopping there this evening. I was in line longer than it took me to shop. The employees are not friendly at all. No one in any department spoke at all. A sample station was sat up with a person sanding there and she didn't speak at all. I shopped in every department and saw at least one associate in each department no one spoke. The parking lot is a disaster. Super pretty store but they need to be reminded of what is important. ....customer service is very important. read more
