This store is awesome! I came in the store looking for cookies, but bought an entire barbell and weight set because of their bogo deal, so I just had to get the second one as well! Roger Todd waved me out the door saying, "These are tough streets son, you better start getting buff if you want to survive this concrete jungle for the next 4 hours!" So I went out to the parking lot and assembled the weight bench. I started out repping only the bar. I got it 2 times. My arms were like a Firehouse Subs on fire, or any building really. But... anyways, so I keep going strong with bar until I can't do it anymore. I'm like, "If I try to lift this bar anymore, it could fall on me and kill me!" So what do I do? You know it! I go back inside and bought a pool noodle! I used my 5% off for this purchase and I saved 20 cents! The pool noodle glistened in the 23rd street sunlight as day slowly started to become night... I was running out of time! I could feel my muscles start to bulge out of my blue jean jacket, my blue jean pants (aka Canadian tuxedo) started to rip, each button flying off hitting bystanders and passing cars. Something was happening to my body, but no, my body was happening to something..... As the world grew paranoid of what I was becoming, I looked back up at the Food City and there was Roger Todd, eating peppermints as he gave me two thumbs up! He believed in me, as so I believed that Food City was the greatest store in town. Food City was my fortress; it separated me from the horrors that lay in wake on the wasteland known as 23rd street. I counted 15 overturned cars on fire; it was very reminiscent of a terrible Modern Warfare 3 map and that game was terrible, as evidenced by the adjective terrible, followed by the noun terrible. Witches made stew out of rotting whale carcasses, that were now growing extinct to the Chattanooga area. They eyeballed me like buzzards, thirsting for their prey to give up so they may feast upon its corpse like a fresh Pizza Hut pizza. The mailmen were on strike! Not that the mail service is really necessary anyways, as I have Yahoo!. Cannibals ran amuck in the street. I defended myself using a drumstick and KFC bucket buckler shield to parry their on-coming attacks. I'm now level 11, no good loot as of now....Chernobyl was a greater vacationing spot. The only downside is Chernobyl doesn't have a Burger King, well, at least not anymore..... but it does have lots of radiation and stuff, which is cool for a post apocalyptic movie I guess. Food City was there all of the time (between 7am-12pm) to help turn the tides in my favor. Food City was the 3rd coming of Jesus. Food City has the best deals in all of 23rd street. Food City has Terry's chips, the classic brand you loved as a kid. Everybody loves Terry's baby! Out of nowhere, a runaway bus came barreling down 23rd street! There was a farmer and his daughter in the wake of destruction! I sprinted to jump in front of the bus to deflect the highly reckless vehicle, but it was all too late.... I called 911, but they had reservations at Chilis and were closing early that day. The man gasped for air, muttering, "Does Food City have The Bodyguard on Blu-Ray?" I was confused, as I had never seen The Bodyguard, so I left the man and his daughter to rest on the sidewalk. I went inside Food City and found The Bodyguard on Blu-Ray. Roger and I sat down and watched the entire thing! Kevin Costner rox and should come back to acting. Oh and the man and daughter died. The End

    Moldy bread... no thanks!

While grocery…read morestores are not normally on my itinerary on road trips, I made the pit stop into this Ingles for a potty break due to the neighboring gas station not having facilities available...and since I was already there, I did a bit of browsing and shopping. The store, like most Ingles, is a bit dated and worn. The brand is not known for shiny new and updates stores, so this location is definitely "classic". Since I was traveling, I stayed in the interior aisles and picked up a few snacks and staples that I needed, saved me a trip closer to home. I will say that Ingles is a bit pricey compared to other grocery stores, surprisingly so on majority of the items I scoped, fresh food and all. Check out was okay. The cashier was nice, but not "friendly" or engaging. I get it is a transaction, and it definitely felt just as such. Overall, I get the need and dependence on this location for the local community. Good spot for groceries, just a bit high on prices and service could use some tweaks.

My fiancé and I recently moved to Trenton so he could attend the Lineman school here. Since moving, we've been adjusting to living on one income and it's been financially challenging due to the amount of time it took me to find a job. When we got to the register, we realized we were $1.23 short. It may not seem like much, but in that moment it felt incredibly heavy. As we were trying to decide what to put back, our cashier Jacob quietly walked around the register and paid the difference himself without hesitation. He didn't make a big scene or make us feel embarrassed -- he simply chose kindness. That small act meant more to us than he probably realizes. After months of stress and uncertainty, the Lord really reminded us that there are still genuinely good people in this world. Jacob, thank you for your compassion and generosity. You made a difference for us that night. Ingles is lucky to have someone like you on their team -- he absolutely deserves recognition and a raise!

I just noticed the handwritten sign saying "mercado". I decided to drop in and check it out. The space is big and it looks like they are still in the processing of opening/setting up. There are lots of different latin products in there and a huge selection of kitchen stuff - huge pots, pans, etc. Everything you need to get started making a delicious latin meal. The produce - oh my goodness - I've never seen such an array of produce. All looking so fresh and so good. There were lots of stuff I didn't even recognize. They have a refrigerated area with cheeses, tortillas, pre-made items, etc. It also looks like they are putting in a big meat counter and maybe even some in-house prepared foods. I picked up a giant Asian pear and some tortillas (they only have one brand though - hope that changes) and headed towards the register. There they had a bin of fresh made chicken tamales for $1.50 each. I grabbed a couple and had that for dinner. Very good. These are more like central american tamales wrapped in banana leaves. The masa was very moist and thick. The chicken had a great flavor with a bit of spice. I can't wait until they fully open and have the meat counter and prepared food area open. Keep your eye on this place.

I was so excited when I learned that GFS was coming and couldn't wait for opening day! This store is amazing. It has grocery items, fresh produce, a international aisle, deli, pantry items, grab n go items including an entire rotisserie chicken for $5.00, meat and seafood, kitchen ware and freshly made popcorn ( Carmel and other flavors too) , dairy and frozen sections and best of all ; no membership fee. It carries items for your home or business (small restaurant) meaning that they carry very large sized items like 35lb of liquid frying shortening or 180 egg carton. It has aisles with cooking fluid, cleaning supplies , kitchenware, disposable plates, cups and gloves. It's like going to Oz! I was amazed at the vast inventory they carry and really good prices. We picked up a 50 count package of frito lay chips ( snack size) for $14.99. A pint of blue berries for $1.99 and a case of 12 ounce bottles of Coke de Mexico for $24.00. Just to name a few...... My cart was completely loaded and I came in just to look. We've been waiting a long time for a grocery store to come to this neighborhood and GFS doesn't disappoint. Located behind Pizza Bros. With their own parking lot. Monday to Saturday 7 to 8 Sunday 9-6 Go check out this store!
