I'm not from the area, so I wasn't familiar with Food City supermarkets. It did remind me of a Ralphs or Vons back home. For grocery, I would probably just shop here instead of the Walmart across the street as they had pretty decent prices. The store was clean and each aisle was well organized. The parking lot was used for the start line of the Hatfield & McCoy Marathon. They opened early enough where we were able to hang out inside and use their restroom. Went to order 6 trays for Christmas eve. Ask for no pineapple on my fruit tray because of severe allergies. sorry no substitute. oh ok fine I'll take my order to Walmart. I'm not sure what that total would have been, but I spend over 1000$ per month in this store and I can't get an exclusion for allergies. yeah I'm done. It was the small familiarities that kept me a customer even tho the price was higher. but I'm DONE! As bad as I hate it Walmart will get my 1000$ a month. Love the place and did like the sea food department but there is this one girl that works there and she is so disrespectful to me. I seen that her name was Kayla and I said I'm gonna make a complaint about how disrespectful ur and she said won't do any good cause they love her there and wouldnt do anything to her. I have shopped food city for many years. Every one working there has always been very friendly and helpful. I also love how they most always have enough registers open to keep your wait to check out at a minimum. i have been in when they were very busy and longer than usual lines and one or more of the managers come over and open extra lines to get everyone through as quickly as possible cant say that about Walmart. Food City is also very good a supporting out local business instead of trying to put them out of business. My neighborhood Food City is at South Williamson, Ky. The staff there is wonderful from manager Josh Blevins down. They make you feel like family. Always friendly, smiling, waving, quick to help you find something. The quality of the groceries are far above Walmart! Especially the produce and meat departments! Every Friday is exciting with excellent sales. We had moved out of the area for awhile and this store and the people was what we missed the most! We were ecstatic to move back home and once again see our Food City family! read more
