Great service and friendly people. We arrived around 8 Saturday morning and we both ordered a…read morecaramel latte. The coffees were made quickly and my wife loved the taste. More on my opinion on the latte in a minute. The bakery is in another room and they had a large variety of pastries that are prepared in the building. I ordered an Apple fritter, a chocolate cake donut with chocolate icing. My wife ordered a sour cream donut plus a lemon blueberry muffin. The Apple fritter was delicious with nice chunks of apple. One of the best I've ever had. So, after a bite of it, I gave my wife the caramel latte and ordered a black coffee. The sweetness of the fritter with the latte simply doesn't mix well IMO. The drink I had of the latte was really good but of course, I preferred a black coffee with the fritter. My wife loved the sour cream donut and thought it was better than our local donut shop we frequent that has her favorite sour cream donut. We saved the other two for the next day. So, no reviews for those two. This is a great local coffee shop with great products, great variety, and fantastic customer service. If you're in the KY Lake area we highly recommend this establishment.

Iced coffee's are pretty good, I add an extra shot or 2 of espresso because they can be a little light on coffee, heavy on creamer but still very good. Their bakery stands out the most to me, pastries and cakes are the best in all of the area. Staff are always super friendly and offer suggestions. We always make sure to have time to shop the gift shop side, great place to find unique little gifts.

Instead, it ended up being one of the more disappointing bakery experiences I've had. We walked in to a display case that was almost empty and a line that felt more like a suggestion than anything organized. After waiting longer than expected, I ordered a French cake donut--what I received was surprisingly small, closer to a sample than something you'd expect to pay for. The service, though, was the real standout--and not in a good way. The employee helping us seemed clearly annoyed from the start. Basic, reasonable requests were met with visible irritation, and the overall attitude made it feel like we were inconveniencing them just by being there. That kind of interaction sticks with you more than the food does. What really added to the confusion was noticing trays of fresh, better-looking donuts behind the counter as we were leaving--none of which were available or mentioned while ordering. Yes, the prices are lower than other places, but the portions reflect that, and the service makes it hard to justify even a quick stop. I can understand people having fond memories of this place, but based on this visit, it doesn't hold up.

Tiny Baker - Another score! This time I'm trying (for myself) a lemon cupcake, and I'm taking more fudge to different friends and businesses.

The order consisted of a box of cookies and two boxes of cupcakes. I didn't accompany them to pick up the goodies so I can't speak to atmosphere or service, but I didn't hear any complaints from any of the family other than a touch of confusion around pick-up time, so that's good. I didn't try the cupcakes so they may have been excellent. I will say there was an impressive variety and they appeared beautifully decorated. I'm more of a cookie person, so that's what I had. There wound up being an overabundance of desserts at the function, so I got to sample all the flavors of cookies after having two there and taking two home to eat the next day. These are fairly small cookies, a little smaller than the palm of my hand, so it's easy to get a good sampling. My favorites were the peanut butter and the snickerdoodle. The snickerdoodle in particular had that pleasant chewiness that cream of tartar imparts in a good snickerdoodle. The oatmeal raisin cookie was just alright. I didn't like the chocolate chip cookie. To me, it tasted like the ratio of brown sugar was off -- it didn't have that pleasant, almost caramely taste most chocolate chip cookies have. All of the cookies had, to some extent, a problem with...let's say crumbliness. I like both chewy cookies and crispy/crunchy cookies, but I don't like cookies that fall apart as you eat them, and these definitely did. The peanut butter held up the best out of all of them, which is one reason why I think it's one of the better ones. Overall, this is a solid enough option for sweets and treats. They can certainly accommodate very large orders, which we appreciated for our gathering.
