We shopped here until they put a rodent poison box in plain view just next to each entrance. I can't think of another grocery store that does that. It's gross and speaks to the quality of the store--not good. We won't go back and we've talked to other families who have noticed this and are also shopping elsewhere. read more

I like to shop here I do not have any issues with anything I buy from here. I love their pick up I order the night before I want to pick up and pick my time to come get it and it is always ready. The store is very clean and the employees are so friendly and love to help you. I do not shop anywhere else but here for my groceries. read more

My son got sick inside the store and rather than the employment bring over a mop or custodian after I brought it to their attention, they handed me a spray bottle and paper towels and I had to clean it up myself. How is that sanitary?! read more

Michelle should not be management with an attitude like she has. I cashed coins In at coin star and tried to use it as my payment at the self service station and it told me I needed assistance. Michelle step up and rudly said " You can't use that here" you have to use that over there. So I cashed it over there and she acted like it was an inconvenience to assist me. I would like to tell people what occurred on my visit to Food Lion in King George one night. I went there and I was having fun with my friend who works there just laughing and joking to myself. I was denied purchasing a single beer because an employee took notice of my playfulness and assumed that I had had too much to drink prior to my visit. I politely explained my disposition actions and stated that it was harmless, however I have residuals due to several strokes. I purchased the cigarettes and departed the store. However, I felt as if I had been labeled as someone who was intoxicated and that was not the case. Furthermore, I felt that I had to explain my disability to purchase merchandise. I watched her walk over to another employee and just ridiculously shame me as a drunk. LISA do better!!** read more

Decent grocery store. Employees are friendly. What really irks me is that they choose to stock during the busiest times of the day. You can't get to anything with the isles blocked and boxes thrown all over the floor. I was there yesterday and every isle I tried to go down was blocked with people stocking. They also will frequently have one cashier and five people standing around the self checkout doing nothing. I can't remember the last time I had someone actually wait on me. read more

Prices are higher than my normal grocery stores. I compare prices to items I buy on the regular so I didn't like that. The store is clean and people are friendly. I like that they typically have a sale (water 3 for $10, lean cuisine 2 for $4...) makes living in a hotel pretty easy. read more

My go to local grocery store. Store is always clean and shelves well stocked with items advertised for sale. Cashiers and other store employees have always been friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. They have a host of store brand items that not only meet the name brand version but superseded my expectations. King George Food Lion is a great place to shop. read more

Meh. It's a food lion. What all can be said? They have red box out front so that's a plus. When you just need something quick, it's good to have around. If you need something specific, go to Wegmans or Giant because they probably do not have it here. It's a good grocery store - the people are always nice - but it's a basic grocery store. Brought in my dog 3 times. Received a pretty rude, "you can't have your dog in here...no dogs allowed". The dog was in the shopping cart as every other time. Be consistent and more importantly, do not be rude. They must feel better to have customers leave their dogs in a hot car when it is 90+ degrees. Sure they would take the liability of that. Lastly, it's King George where pets/family are the core of the identity. For a grocer that is higher than any surrounding store, sure one heck of a way treat situations. Will not be back. read more

I don't have any problems with this food lion. It is what I would expect out of a rural food lion. They lack a bit in produce and seafood but I imagine that's because it's in a rural location. I have had above average service with the guys in meat ! Cashiers are always friendly. read more

I agree with the other review... they have no competition so the prices are a bit higher than the average Food Lion. It's also not updated like some other FLs. There is never enough lines open (tho I dont expect that at any grocery store). Hate to say it, but I prefer shopping at Walmart for groceries. read more

finally getting their prices under control. The other yelpers are 100% truthful food lion was taking advantage of being the only grocery store in the area. but now that super Walmart and Aldis are popping up the FL are forced to lower their astronomical prices. I am very upset. My son and I went to the local Food Lion and we picked up two Turkeys. ON THE TAG - it gave a price which reflected the $.39 lb. There was NO SIGN indicating that these were priced only IF you purchased ADDITIONAL groceries. We found this out by a RUDE MANAGER - a woman with long blonde hair. She TOLD us that we would only get the price (THAT WAS ON THE TAG) WITH NO SIGNAGE ON THE FREEZER - only when we bought additional groceries which are stated in the AD. I told her I never saw the ad and there was no sign. She argued with my son and me about the sign - stating that it WAS there. My son went back and took a picture of the freezer doors where we got the two turkeys. NO SIGN! I did not read your AD - didn't think I needed to prior to stopping in and purchasing my groceries. We are VERY insulted - especially when she told us, this is the way we do it every year..........so sorry - we have not been in the area that long to know the annual policies. read more

I believe customer service goes a long way and the service here is great! I visit this store every week. I always get a friendly smile and a "how have you been"? They treat you like family here. So there not some super fancy "I got a wine and cheese tasting bar next to the sushi bar", but I don't need that. If that's what you need, big city retail, then why in the world are you in King George? Remember that your in a country store, expect the simple things.
