Where Sodexo's takeover of the food outlets on campus has overall been bad (food on campus was much better and much cheaper before this happened!) they have gone to some effort with this outlet, which is located in the new residence Willow Court (and not signposted at all, so is only frequented by those In The Know and who live nearby). So like I saw they're basically a canteen. Menu contains staples including - burger and chips, spicy chicken, pasta, and some vegetarian options. It's pretty limited in choice but the selections are fairly good - there will probably be something that takes your fancy. INgredients are good quality and the food is well cooked and reasonably priced. This is by far the best place for food on campus, and especially for breakfast - nice fresh pancakes with syrup/bacon/blueberries, and orange juice for only 50p per big glass! Coffee machine and various flavours of tea available, and there is also an extensive choice of soft drinks. You couldn't go here too regularly because you'd get bored eating the same dishes all the time, but the chef is good, the food is tasty, and there are nice wee touches like garlic mayo on the side with your fries. This place doesn't offer much variety, but the dishes it does serve are tasty and done well and there's lots of little trimmings and additions - maybe this is why they claim to be a brasserie! I recommend the burger or the spicy chicken and flatbread. I recommend the breakfast pancakes more (get there before 11 for these). Staff could be better tho, just saying. They're definitely not rude, just a bit distant, you kinda get the impression they have better things to do than serve you (which they probably do, to be fair).

So when I was walking in the centre of town and Delivino caught my eyes, I have to admit I wasn't completely surprised to find a place that looked so enticing. However, my experience in across Perthshire has still left me a bit suspicious of restaurants and cafes that look inviting, but in the end don't quite meet expectations. Delivino exceeded mine. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by someone who we assume was at least the manager. He was very helpful in pointing us to some bar seating by the window. It's crazy... it was 2.30pm on a Saturday every table in the cafe was occupied except for two which were reserved... next time, I know to phone ahead. It was hard to decide what to eat, simply because I loved almost all of the options. In the end I went with the crayfish tails bruschetta. The crayfish tails were in a lime mayonnaise that was irresistible. I haven't had crayfish this tasty outside of Louisiana in a long time. It comes on a bed of rocket salad on top of two slices of bread. It was amazing. We finished up our meal sharing a piece of lemon and blueberry cake. To be honest, this was the only slightly disappointing element to our experience. It was just ok, and wasn't as lemony as I had hoped. We should've gone with the recommendation of the carrot cake or chocolate sponge, which both looked amazing. But in the end, the cake was by no means lacking enough for me to give this place a lower rating. They sell wines, cheeses and other foods in the cafe. They also have a tea/coffee and chocolate option, which I will have to try out in the near future. Due to my work, I will find myself in Crieff more often these days, which I by no means am complaining about. And I will definitely be stopping at Delivino whenever I have the chance... and I'll have a hard time ordering something besides the crayfish bruschetta... except for maybe the tea and chocolate.
