Ok I'm used to this place now that it's just OK, there's better of the same. It's convenient is all. The bathroom is always open which helps but it's rank in there every time. I'm giving this Food4Less four stars strictly for their spice aisle. The selection is unmatched. They've got seasoning for chicken, beef, steak, fish whatever you're cooking, they've got the seasoning they giving everybody a shot. Prices are the best I've seen anywhere, and the variety is wide enough that I even buy certain blends to send to relatives out of state. When come visit me you go back home with some Lawry's. Erick helped me today and made the process smooth. Over Labor Day weekend the shelves were a little lighter, but still impressive. Hands down the largest selection at the best prices. I'm so unhappy about this supposed new policy about a time limit on the Pokémon machines there is a time limit on the machine itself and now the store is placing a wait limit on the machines so basically if we're not there at the exact moment we're not allowed to use the machines not to mention the staff for the store including the manager himself is also buying the machines inventory there's nothing wrong with buying cards but while you're on the clock getting paid to do your job and still bow guarding the machines doesn't seem write to me it seems like they're allowing staff to do as they please sorry for any Pokémon card collectors this is not a friendly place for you read more

SCAM ALERT! Check your receipt before leaving. I was charged for the customers groceries ahead of me because the cashier DARLENE V. failed to properly complete the transaction before me. Darlene V. proceeded to scan my groceries and my total was $236.88. I was shocked, but with inflation I was like whatever. It was only after she handed me my receipt that I caught the mistake. I immediately bought this to her attention for her to correct the mistake. Darlene ask me to give her a moment as she proceeds to go in the store to pick up the items that are on the receipt to rescan them in order to give me a refund. In my mind I was like just void the transaction and rescan my items no big deal. However, I don't work at the grocery store so I don't know the standard protocol. 15 minutes later she is back at the register and processed the refund in the amount of $42.99. I said thank you and walked out to my car to put away my groceries. I looked at my receipt again and realized that she only refunded half the amount that was due to me are you serious right now. WTF! I went back in store and at this time I spoke with the assistant manager by the name of AlFREDO V. who further assists me. I ask him for the name of the cashier who Checked me out and his response and I quote "HER NAME IS ON THE RECEIPT ". Now I have to woosah, because that was just flat out rude. Why an attitude when I didn't do anything wrong. I'm watching him as he is calculating the remaining refund and I make a comment to Alfredo like that's almost another $30 that she failed to refund me. His response was NO it's like $15. Well guess what after he did all the calculations the additional refund that was due to me was in the amount of $52.16. WTF! I'm sorry but that's a major F-up. Long story short please pay attention to your receipts. I have a feeling this is an ongoing scam they running at the store . Especially when Darlene told me the customer whose groceries I paid for was a regular and is in the store once a week. I have posted my receipts below. Just sad that we cannot go into our own neighborhood store without being scammed by employees with funky ass attitude. Alfredo really rubbed me the wrong way and needs to be referred back to training on how to deal with unsatisfied customers. Everyone seem to always have something to complain about. This food 4 less location, I must say, is much better than most. It's clean, organized and much to choose from. The cashiers are quick and polite. What I love to is the different vending machines they have posted in the front of the store such as "Red Box" movie rentals and toys for the kids. The Manager Adolf (yes, like Hitler) is very rude and has absolutely no knowledge of store policies. He refuses to let customers use coupons and also refuses to let customers see a store policy where it shows that coupons are not accepted. This is completely unacceptable. Update.... I called Kroger corporate and they were clear that we CAN use coupons as long as coupons are not being doubled or combined with other coupons. As long as there is a coupon for each item, it's a go. 20 items/20 coupons. You can also use up to 5 of the same coupons. So, 5 Twix's and 5 Twix coupons is fine. Adolf needs some customer service and reading comprehension lessons. read more

I never can say I've had an issue here. I come here all the time and have for years. And now thanks to ignorance and racism at El Super I get my kids cakes here too. Only thing I don't like is the 3lbs Turkey, Jennie O, sometimes has bones or something in it. Bleh! I try to stay away on the first cuz the lines are outrageous! People sometimes have double baskets. But it's like this is all the markets. I usually go on fridays before 2pm, or even weekends about that time. Or later. Anyhow, I've been getting my kids bday cakes here for some time and these ladies always out do themselves. I thought we'd have an issue and I'd have to go somewhere else to get a cake for my son. They really collaborated and worked with me. We used the roads from the Cars theme cake, and a beach from the Nemo theme cake. They made it chocolate and instead of nuts, but Oreo to make the dirt. Sand dunes became dirt dunes!! These ladies rock! They made that sell, and my day! My son was ecstatic when I added the vehicles I got from Walmart. Thank you ladies so much!! read more

This is one of two F4L locations that I love. There's always a good sale going on and they are fully stocked with just about everything. It's never too crowded, even on long holiday wkends. There's always enough registers open so even when it seems busy the wait isn't very long. There's plenty of parking but try to park close to it since their shopping carts lock when you go too far. I've seen lots of carts lock and the poor people are stuck carrying your groceries across the lot. read more

I explain to her that I am catching the bus and I don't need my items leaking and she says "I'm only gonna give you 2! and then say says BEGRUDGINGLY "I'm gonna give you a 3rd bag and that's all I'm gonna give you!!!". So WHEN DID CASHIER'S BECOME PLASTIC BAG POLICE??? The lady that was behind me DONNA politely asked her "Would you like to donate to....."....I WASN'T ASKED THAT (MAYBE BECAUSE OF HOW I WAS DRESSED??? I live in the area and do my monthly grocery shopping here. This is a somewhat shady area so you would expect the store to be subpar but that is not the case. The aisles are clean, food is well stocked and prices are low. I go to Food4less and Superior once a month. Superior is better on fruit, vegetables and poultry. Food4less is better on packaged goods, oj, eggs, bread and pretty much everything else. I am glad they are in the community and will continue to be a loyal shopper. read more

This is one of the few major super market chains in the neighborhood. A lot of families shop here and it's always busy and hard to find parking as usual but I won't complain about that. I have a major gripe with the quality of the food here. There's basically no organic fruits and veggies here if there is they're rotten & moldy. The aisles are full of processed gmo foods, and the fresh seafood section sucks. I prefer Ralph's because the one on Slauson/Crenshaw has been upgraded and they do a really good job at having organic products and they have a lot of choices in there Simple Truth line. They've got to do us better in this area when it comes to having fresh foods and Non Gmo Verified products. The prices are really cheap and they have super fresh veggies. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded and the lines are long, but they have this double-belt thing where u can bag your groceries while the cashier rings up the person behind you and puts their stuff on the other belt so they don't get mixed up - super fast. The staff here are hopeless though and they obviously don't want to be there. I love F4L...But, I only gave 3 stars because of late, the fruit I've purchased has been too ripe or totally un edible. I called F4L today (10/13/2019), spoke with CS (customer service), he was quite accommodating, even after I told him, I did not keep my receipt...No problem, just return melon to store. He is going to speak with people in the produce department. Now, the only other complaint I have is the parking (barely any) parking spaces left for F4L shoppers with all the other businesses that have come into this mini mall. I was just there about 10 minutes ago, and I go in with my bike and a backpack to pick up some fruits, I should've known to stay away from the hood, so I was in my boardshorts and muscle shirt like I was at the beach and as soon as I go in I get signaled by the security guard (normal right) yes but then he could've told me something like excuse me but you have to leave your bike outside and leave your backpack in the locker, but no this Idiot tells me "yo you can't come in here with that what you think this berverly hill or what you can't do that around here, go leave your bike outside and get a locker" very rude and easy way to get rid of clients, never coming back, I really wanted to speak to the manager but didn't have the time, as I am now on my way to ralphs to buy my fruits. I was in the area and realized I needed some shrimp for the stir fry I was making that night. This is a newer F4Less and I decided to go in. From the jump I knew I should have turned around got back in my car. First my leg was hurting so I got on the scooter. This a-hole Nigerian/African security guy with a heavy accent comes up and says do you have your id. I was like WTH?!?! And he backed up,so I assumed he was joking,he was like oh well uh don't take it outside.I was like oh I won't. First of all wouldn't that be something you tell someone that just bought something and was going towards the exit. Second, you can take them outside as long as you bring it back in and usually they have some employee go out with you to take it back. Third,out of all the stores i've used one of those in none have ever said that when a person first got on the thing. Just rude and I was offended! I know this is the hood and understandibly things are different down there. Still there's something called tact and even though you are working you need to treat people that come in there with respect unless they steal or do something stupid on your watch. It was no big deal,I could walk back to my car I just didn't like his assuming I'd jack it. So I've been insulted and to top it off they don't have a butcher area like other F4L,everything done in back and put out. Basically they didn't have what I needed. So I browsed around a bit more and the incident with that guard just wasn't sitting good with me. So I went and spoke to some superivisor and told him that I didn't appreciate how the guard spoke to me and he gave me this long explanation about how they've already had 10 scooters jacked and that why they have to tell customers that and apologized. It seemed sincere so I just scooted off lol. So later I saw the same guard and he was staring at me like he found out I said something. I don't care he is rude and he needs to learn how to respect people that are helping him get a paycheck! Honestly I only shop here cause it's close to my house and it's cheap but it's horrible! All my foods go bad within a week! I used to go shopping at this store all the time, for years. It is a short walk from my house. The staff are very helpful and and selection good but the corporate office has hired security guards that will not let me shop because I will not give of my shoulder bag because it has my insulin and glucose meter in it. As an insulin dependent diabetic I do not go any where with out them Such, stringent security enforce because I might steal something seems counter productive with a 46 year old man who can't run. They just lost me as a customer because of this. So be warned they want you to use a locker when you go. read more

Shopped at this store on Fri Apr 8, 2017 04:23pm and checked out with cashier Zeida A. I've been here several times and is always asked, "how many bags" and I tell them I won't know until I start bagging. I may need 4, I may need 8, I really don't know. If I was good at guessing #'s I would have won the lotto. I told her I would let her know. I grabbed what I thought was one bag and she said it was two, so I returned a bag to her. How rude!!! I told her I was not going to jail for a 15 bag. She begin checking out the next customer as I was continuing to bag my groceries. I needed another bag, so I pulled it from the stand. After I finished, I asked her how much do I owe her and she said .30. I gave her two quarters and told her to keep the change, another elderly woman may need it for a bag. She was so rude and is not fit to serve the public. She should be in the warehouse. I disliked her attitude toward me, a 66 year old customer, who has walked down every isle in the store, can't wait to sit down, starring at long lines, not designated for handicapped individuals, just to listen to her ignorance about the # of bags I may or may not need. I'm not good at guessing names, # of items or # of bags needed. I will not be disrespected by minimal wage cashiers. If she doesn't like her job, she should find another job where she don't have to participate with the public. What happen to common sense when it comes to a plastic bag!!! On this same date, I purchased 3 12/pk of 7UP, which was tagged as 3 for 9.99. Zeida charged me 4.99 + .60 for ca redeemed val for each 12 pk. I did not notice this until I returned home.
