I have to admit that this grocery market is "hands down" the best. I've never seen a grocery store so beautifully decorated, organized and well staffed. I fell in love with their greeting card machine at the entrance of the store. Also there pineapple peeler machine. I'm assuming you put the pineapple you bought on the inside and it peels it for you and slices the pineapple into a cup. That was very impressive to me. It was an operative at the time we arrived but it was nice to know that they offer that. The store is well organized according to the things you may need. Would blew me away is that they actually have a spot in the store that shops fresh fruit such as pineapples, honeydew, mango, cantaloupe and berries. Along with the fresh fruit being cut they offer different types of Tajín. I even saw a aisle that is somewhat dedicated to seasonings and got a chance to see how many different tajin flavors there were. This is a grocery store that goes far and beyond to please their customers. If the price is seems steep, it's worth it. The store has plenty of parking seeing that is shared with other establishments. I'm anxiously looking forward to my next visit. I can't wait. I picked up one of their fruit platters that cost me about $23. It was fresh and very enjoyable but I had to provide my own tajin. So I look forward to purchasing one of their fresh cut fruit bowls with my selected tajin on it. read more

They had plenty of staff. They do carry most of the Hispanic foods even though the prices are a bit higher than other supermarkets. Found this grocery store when looking for exotic fruit, and they came through with fresh guanábana / soursop, guava, passion fruit, lychees and more. You can also get fresh cut fruit with key lime juice, Tajín and other toppings. The store is very clean, the fish / seafood looked fresh and the bread is hot; seems very well maintained. My friend was right this new store is the spot yo. Its not just a typical grocery store to me. Their fresh food section is bomb. They have a real good selection of pastries (sweet bread) and taste good on top. I used one of their mailers today and the butcher section and dairy is all well priced and fire too. Plus they sell Dulans deli meals here which look pretty popular I've yet to try those. They're still 15 bucks a pop. But there were only two left when I went. Good vibes from store employees too. I also disappointed with the portion omg this is not enough food for what I paid for the soups are so small and poorly prepared there is exactly one piece of chayote 2 pieces of squash an a piece of carrots literally, for the cost is not enough. I mean 14 dollars for a medium size pozole and the same for a caldo de res is insane. It's overwhelming. From jump, my eyes soaked in the vibrant colors and the multitude of product. I started in the Mexican candy area with beautiful clay vases and tempting treats. They also have a huge display of meats with butchers at the ready to give you what u want. They have a hot bar where u can get made to order burritos, tacos, rotisserie chicken. They boast several different ceviches and the seafood is fresh. There are a lot of amazing things to get. Customer service is very prompt and courteous. Parking is ample. Just wants to look cool for certain employees. Her phone is more important than her job. She's basically accused me of stealing twice. Both for something under $1! It's nice to see another market in the community. Stopped by this evening and it was lovely! Fully stocked, lots of selection, several "fresh bars", and more! I've been here twice and had bad experiences both time. I was sad because overall the store looks good and had really good produce which is hard to find in most grocery stores. My first visit, I went through self check out. The young lady working that day was extremely rude and acted as if I was asking her to move the moon when I asked for the bag I had paid for and hissed like I ruined her day. I even though about leaving a bad review that day, but brushed it off. Second time, I'd figured I'd give it another chance. Today, I walk toward the entrance and there are 2 employees moving pallets of water right inside if the entrance. So, I wait, no big deal... right....they are working. One gentleman pulls his pallet to the side. The other young lady has hers right in the middle where it's hard to get by. She says to me, you can squeeze through here. It was a small space between the wall and the pallet. I explain that I have a hard time walking and I need more space. She looks annoyed, but proceeded to move it. I only went in because I really needed what I was going to buy and didn't have the energy to go to another store, but this is ridiculously dangerous. Even if I didn't have a hard time waking anything could have happened. That was serious safety issue and employes like this are a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

I wanted to take the time to share my experience during my recent visit to the new store that Vallarta opened in south central Los Angeles. first this company opened a store where no one wanted to take the chance of opening in this location. After walking around and with over 30 years of experience working in retail and with customers, I can tell you that I was impressed how beautiful the store is, the great merchandising around of the store, and all the pretty signs. But what impressed me the most was the happiness with which the employees at this location serve us, the customers. Do you have a problem with Black people going through self checkout, and why did you place a "red security flag" on my transaction, causing the cashier to look in my plastic tamale bag to see how many tamales I had? When I checked out, I selected exactly what I put in the plastic bag and the exact quantity, which was 6. How did you determine that the "weight did not match the quantity?" After the cashier was forced to look and verify that I had the exact amount that I entered, what then? And I don't blame her. Were YOU afraid that I had 7 tamales and was only willing to pay for 6? Am I responsible for the weight of your tamales? Do you think customers cannot count? I do not appreciate this store assuming I have to steal a $3 mediocre tamale. But don't worry. The store is clean. First time coming here TODAY. HOWEVER, I purchase a trio platter of agua chiles , jaiva and fish jaiva that turned out spoiled! It's so unfortunate because when I called Miggy answered the phone and would not transfer me to a manager. She stated I couldn't bring the item in with receipt to get a refund and exchange did not reassure me the complaint would be handled properly as in reporting it to deli department and making sure the other fish jaiva is not being served. Bad experience this Saturday 12/27. I had placed an order from the kitchen for 3 large trays of rice for pick up at 4pm. When arrived at 4pm the order was not to be find or anything. We provided the paperwork that was given to me when placed the order in person on 12/23. We were given the order after 5pm and didn't get to the reception 1 hour 20 min later from our scheduled food serving. I had to send someone to go buy rice to a local Mexican restaurant to serve the people that was waiting at the reception. I think this Vallarta supermarket location just opened up recently. The market is very clean and bright with fresh produce. I also checked out the ready-to-eat hot foods section which already had a long line of customers, so must be good! I got a signature juice and it was so fresh and sweet without added sugars. I like the store. It's stocked, smells fresh, is kept clean and there is plenty of staff for support. The only problem I have is with the door set up because of my back and leg pain. One door is the entrance and the other is the exit, but it's not convenient if you're in pain/have disabilities. There is disabled parking near the exit door, but then we have to walk all the way down to the other door and then come back to the exit door to get a mobile cart if needed. We should be able to use either door as needed. On a day when my pain levels are up, I won't shop here because of that. read more

First time here and I will never be back! That was such a bad experience that I have to go back to Northgate because they didn't even have whole chickens. What brand new supermarket doesn't have full poultry everyone in there was as slow as a snail. I grabbed pineapple that was two for six dollars and at the register they said one was five dollars. So many Mexican establishments do not know how to make a traditional Mexican torta. A lot of these places are cutting corners and the food lacks Sazón. My mom and I wanted to go check out Vallarta and try the food. We couldn't wait to order tortas. I wanted a Ham and Cheese torta and my mom wanted a Milaneza torta. We asked for avocado and sourcream on them. And the person who took our order said,"sure". We took a bite, the Milaneza in the torta tasted like burnt greasy cardboard with a glob of mayonnaise and guacamole. It looked terrible. I've never seen a torta with guacamole!! Who does that? We asked for no onions or tomatoes in the Milaneza torta. My mom can't eat those items due to stomach issues she has. I went up to the person behind the counter and asked why we didn't get the slices of avocados on our tortas. He said that was what the company sent the stores to use for the tortas. I said to him, I'll walk over to the produce section and buy an avocado. He said he would go get one. He made new tortas for us. My mom still couldn't eat the Milaneza torta. The milaneza was terrible. My torta was so bland. We threw away our food and will never return. Our family and friends heard about our experience. My mom and I are foodies, we know good food, so our family now knows not to go and eat there. read more

The market is spacious and beautifully designed with great lighting. Prices were also great overall. On the bad side I found too many of their fresh fruit covered in mold. It was more than I usually see in others supermarkets. The most disappointing was the customer service. It was not easy to find someone to help (and no one offered). That to me is really important and puts them at the bottom of the list of market choices for me. Managers need to do a better job training the employees on the floor. read more
