I took the time to travel more than an hour to San Andreas and took a mini tour of the office and surrounding areas. Shortly afterwards I was put into the background process with a private investigator named Stephen Clifford who ran his own investigative firm. I turned in a bunch of documents as requested. About a month later I received a letter from Calaveras HR stating I was no longer being considered. Mr. Clifford did not even conduct any kind of background investigation. He contacted a few references and that was it. I never even fingerprinted for their department yet a complete background was completed. What a shady investigative firm, I believe the Chief hired his personal friend to do the investigative work. Very unprofessional and totally wasted my time. I would not recommend anyone to apply for work in Calaveras county.

Deputy Sylvia assisted my friend secure mental health treatment. Additionally, my friend, due to her mental illness is unable to reside in a group setting, was placed in a local hotel for several days until a flight back to the Midwest could be arranged. My friend is so appreciative for all of the assistance she received during her very challenging time from the various agencies that Deputy Sylvia coordinated. Amador County is very fortunate to have such an amazing group of community agencies to help our homeless population!
