I delivered the check, only for the recipient to point out it was still misspelled. I went back to the bank to get it canceled and reissued, but the manager told me it was my responsibility to check. I explained that their employee had filled it out three times, and I reasonably assumed it was correct by the last attempt. It's not my fault they have incompetent employees.

While I never had very much money, they always were there for me. I have no worries about fraud or fees with FirstBank. I once had fraud take necessary funds from me, and they got me the money I needed while they figured it out. I toured this location as a Boy Scout. I started my first business account at a nearby branch. In Fort Collins they used to print me single checks in college because I refused to get a check book. They thankfully denied my irresponsible loan requests in my 20's. If only other banks had been so kind. I went through a coin collecting phase and picked up 100$ in quarters regularly. When they came out with their new card graphic, I said I liked the old one, and they replaced mine with the old one. What I'm saying is I know First bank, and First bank gives you the feeling of a small town bank with the security of a big one. I wouldn't bank with anyone else.

Extremely dishonest branch. (Specifically, Thalia). Enjoy the formal investigation from the federal…read moreconsumer protection bureau because you wanted to lie to me about banking rules and keep my money. Years ago, I was placed into a student account and explicitly told by this branch that I wouldn't be charged any fees until I turned 24. Instead, I discovered I lost $60 over the last 4 months due to hidden monthly fees. I do freelance art at 22 and don't have a consistent income, so pulling this under my nose is awful. But that isn't even the worst part. I went into the branch yesterday and spoke with a worker named Thalia, who completely lied to my face. I told her I wanted to dispute the $60. She immediately started aggressively pushing me to open a different account type. When I refused and told her I just wanted to close the account, she rushed to close it. The second it was closed, I asked about my dispute. She smugly smiled and said, "Aw man, we would have had to do that BEFORE closing the account. Aw dang!"Girl... you knew exactly what I wanted. Nobody leaves money behind. And it is a flat-out falsehood. Under federal consumer protection laws, consumers have a strict 60-day window to dispute unauthorized charges regardless of whether the account is open or closed. She stonewalled me because local branch metrics get penalized when they waive fees for a closing customer. She wasn't misinformed; she knew exactly what she was doing. In retail banking, employees are judged on keeping accounts open and keeping fee waivers low. Waiving $60 for a closing account is a "dead loss" on her scorecard. She rushed to close my account to try and trap me into giving up or forcing me to open a new account just to get a credit. By refusing to process a standard dispute just because the account was closed, this branch committed a direct compliance violation. To make it even worse, when I left the branch, I called phone support and spoke to another live representative who repeated the exact same fake excuse that they couldn't help me because the account was closed. Since their actual human workers prefer to ignore consumer rights, I submitted a formal complaint to the federal bureau. Corporate higher-ups are now investigating this branch and this employee's shady actions. This was no mistake. Thalia was passive-aggressive from the get-go and tried playing dumb to protect her sales metrics. Be extremely careful coming to this branch! UPDATE: Corporate officially responded to my federal complaint, and their executive office (specifically a caseworker named La Honda) completely tried to twist the facts to protect their branch. In their official response, they literally admitted that they knew I wanted my fees waived, but claimed they "couldn't process it because the account was closed." They completely omitted the fact that Thalia intentionally and aggressively rushed to close my account first specifically to trap me in this loophole and block my right to a dispute. They are actively hiding behind a timeline that their own branch employee manipulated. They took $60 in monthly fees from a 22-year-old freelance artist after explicitly promising the account would be fee-free. Instead of fixing it, corporate chose to back up Thalia's actions. I have officially rejected their response through the federal portal. Do not trust a single word this branch says. They will lie to your face, manipulate your account, and then rewrite history to the government to keep your money.

The response I got from the "second floor" (IT personnel?) was often arrogant and certainly ignoring my question. Is this "credit ranking" another semi(?)scam? One thing we all are learning nowadays - not to trust anybody. The fact the perpetrators seem rarely punished makes this distrust worse. So - first floor 5 stars, the second floor 1 star. Instead of a simple process, I spent my time sitting in the lobby while employees slowly worked through paperwork. Eventually, I was told I needed an additional $47.20 and was sent downstairs to a teller. The teller claimed their system couldn't accept my card, so I said I would go get cash. Ironically, the ATM outside their own building accepted my card without any problem at all. When I came back, they literally shut the door in my face and locked it, telling me they were closed--even though I was in the middle of a loan transaction that THEY had sent me out to complete. What makes it even worse is that they were simultaneously telling the dealership they were wrapping everything up and about to hand me my paperwork. Then I get a call from the employee handling my loan saying, "Hey man, so we're closed now. I didn't expect you to leave, but my colleague can get you tomorrow. Is that sufficient?" No, it wasn't sufficient. I made it clear from the start that I was in a tight situation and needed this handled that day. Instead, I got excuses, poor communication, and some of the most unprofessional customer service I've experienced. If you're looking for a financial institution that values your time and follows through on its commitments, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. A pre-approved customer with all the required paperwork should not be sent away in the middle of a transaction and then locked out of the building.

I would never recommend Chime Financial institution to anyone. I am going to change everything to a real bank. Every time I called Chime to talk to an agent, I got a different answer to my question. I was told that my Social Security check would be deposited on the 16th of February and it's not in my account as of today. I want to report Chime Financial institution to the Better Business Bureau because they have lied to me and kept my Social Security checks for 26-31 days when my check is deposited on the 3rd of every month.
