Hello everyone! I visited Footies Spa for the first time yesterday. It is a massage place located in New City, Rockland County, New York. Upon first entering I was greeted by the staff working there which seemed pleasant. I was taken to the large room which had separate massage spaces inside. Each space is separate and there are curtains to enter each space. I had a large male that did my massage I'm not sure what his name was. He did a good job with the massage, I was nervous because he would step on my back and he had to have been over 280lb but it was fine. He must have had hairy arms because I think I felt it during the massage. The space was relaxing no complaints, just observations. Would recommend as it was $55 for one hour for a full body massage. read more

I am sharing an honest review about Footies spa. I booked a massage with a specific messous because I tried other ones in the past that I did not like. I showed up on time and eventually was shown to a massage table. After I was all ready and waiting for a few minutes, the messous came in and whispered in my ear that she's going to someone else who's giving her a lot of money. I didn't really understand what she was saying until afterwards. She said that someone else will be coming. I said no. She repeated again that she'll be getting a lot of money. I was confused and upset, and she only told me this after I had undressed etc. A different messous came in who did not do a good job. She was very rough. I had to ask her to stop hurting me. I was so shocked by all this. When I came out, the messous I had originally booked was standing by the counter and took my money. I told her that I was very unhappy and disappointed. She said that someone else kept calling and offering money and that I should come in the morning or evening when it is less busy. This is reprehensible. When I booked the appointment, they said the time would work. It was confirmed and all set. This experience was terrible. I was not treated as a customer should be treated. It was so disrespectful. I will not be returning to this spa and would not recommend it to others. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! I have never experienced such unprofessional and hostile service at a spa. As others have mentioned, they pressure customers into tipping more than 20%, which is completely unacceptable. On top of that, the foot massage itself was mediocre. I will absolutely never return. Reminder: tips are always at the customer's discretion--not demanded. read more

Super rude. Got a 1 hour massage for $55. Tipped $11 cash which is 20% and they demanded I tip more. That seems illegal. Did not give them anymore money and won't ever be back. read more

Amusingly enough, both the 1 star reviews and the 5 star reviews are right about this place, but in different ways. The actual massage I received was exactly what I was looking for, with a considerate masseuse and a perfectly soothing environment. However, the complaints about the business upselling the hell out of you are also true. I go in, ask for half hour body work, and come out feeling incredibly relaxed. Then, not only do they pressure me into leaving a damn near 40% tip, but also told me to choose a longer massage option next time. Sure, Footies. You got more money out of me for THIS visit, but now I'm just going to try literally any other massage place in a 20 mile radius before I come back here again. read more

Honestly part of me feels bad giving only one star because the lady who massaged me was not terrible but the customer service and my experience at the start and finish of the massage were below one star. I called to make an appointment for 2 1 hour reflexology appointments. I told the receptionist I would be there at 4:30 and he said to come now. I let him know that I would leave now but I live 2o minutes away so there is no way I am getting there before 4:30. He continues to say come now. I said I will be there at 4:30 and he sneaks in one more "come now" before I hang up. On my drive there at 4:27 I get a phone call from him asking where I was. I had let him know I would be there in a few minutes because like I mentioned earlier I live 20 minutes away. We get there and he tries to tell us we are getting a back massage. I said no, our appointments are for hour reflexology. He kept pushing the back massage saying it was better. We continued to decline and asked for foot massages. The massage itself was okay, not much of a massage, more of a playing with my toes for minutes at a time. There also was a ridiculous amount of time spent wrapping my legs and feet in towels. That took about ten minutes away from the massage itself. With about 10 minutes left in our massages another customer comes in who has also made an appointment for a foot massage. I hear the receptionist try to push the back massage on him as well. He continues to very loudly call the receptionist a "jerkamo" repeatedly, which was distracting but also hilarious. He also requested a woman perform his massage, which is where it really goes down hill for me. They ask me to flip over onto my stomach for the 10 minute back massage portion of the reflexology. I do so, and then realize that the woman who had been doing my massage has left to do the other customer's massage and the receptionist is now doing my massage!!!! Now if he was one of the normal masseuses I would have no issue with this, however it was VERY clear that he was not. He had his down jacket on, headphones in and it was very obvious that he had no idea what he was doing and was just trying to get by. It was absolutely horrible and I felt taken advantage of. We go to leave and pay and i paid for two massages and he hands me a "buy 10 get 1 free" card with only 1 spot filled in. I did not say anything about that because at this point it was pretty clear I wouldn't be back. Then I hand him a 20 and ask for change and he just keeps it. I said can i please have change and he turns a price list sign around and on the back is handwritten in pen "10$ tip per hour". Honestly I could not believe what I was reading plus could not get over the fact that it was written in pen on the back of a sign that could be seen by no one. I just shook my head and walked out. Needless to say I will not be returning and will continue to give my business to Mia's footspa which is down the street. I thought we should try something new, but I will never stray from Mia's again! read more

This place, unfortunately is extremely unprofessional. My masseuse left me SIX times to go and answer the phone at the front. I got up from the bed before my full allotted appointment time because the whole experience was the exact OPPOSITE of relaxing and I was wasting my time and my money. I was extremely unhappy and told him that. He apologized and then asked me if I could give him a $5 dollar tip!! And let me add that I get massages a lot and his skills were subpar. read more

It was a fine massage in one big room with beds separated by curtains. You get what you pay for, however, my husband and I both tipped 20%, no one said anything to me. They looked at my husband and told him he had to tip more, he said what? Why? It's 20%? And they said men massages require a higher tip. He tried to explain that if men massages are more than the price tag should reflect it, tips are optional and the amount is not a set amount. This place is just ok. Took an hour and masseuse spends too much time on my back when I paid for back and feet. Then near end she asks if I want to pay for additional 30 minutes. I declined. Massage was ok but the customer service was terrible. I went in with a Groupon and was told I should have paid them there and gave me attitude. After the massage, I went to tip and was asked how much cash I was handing them. Out of natural instinct I told the person at the desk who then told me it wasn't enough and I could put the tip they wanted to charge me on my credit card. I asked if the tip they insisted I give was posted anywhere and was shown a handwritten note on the back of the price list. This is very offensive and unprofessional. Came here for the first time and it was amazing! Tom was my masseuse and he was so polite and accommodating. He worked out all my knots with attention. It was not just a full body massage he paid attention to my bodies needs of tension relief and focused there most. Definitely a go to. read more

The place is um interesting. Once you walk from the reception area you enter into this big open room with about 8 tables for your massage. You have employees on some laying down. To create a sense privacy, they have sheets covering the area where each person would have the massage. It's very dark which helps with relaxing. I never seen my masseuse as I was escorted into the room by the receptionist/owner. My particular masseuse put a hard towel on me and began to just rub her arms down my back. For a few minutes I let her go but then I began wondering if the entire massage was going to be done with this goal on me. So I asked. She didn't seem to understand me and I had to say it 3 times due to the language barrier. Once she removed the towel it was all good. Until....... Fast forward to the massage being over. The man at the desk who barely speaks or understands English, who insisted on telling me to tip the masseuse. I asked him to repeat himself a few times so I could confirm what he was asking of me as the only thing I understood was tip. He spoke slower the last time and I was clear that he was demanding me to tip. Tipping was not an issue as I already had the money visibly out on top of the counter to give but I wanted to give it directly to my masseuse. I tried to explain to the man that your not supposed to ask for a tip you should wait to see what the person offers. I gave the masseuse a $10 tip. He proceeds to ask her how much did I give and she help up the two $5's I gave her. I don't know if he was expecting more or if that was sufficient but I do know that I will not be back. Horrible experience!! Worst customer service ever!! I came across their business on Groupon. I called and made an appointment for two people the lady told me ok you can pay the groupon price here. I said great, once I got there I realized my friend had already purchased hers on Groupon so I told them it would only be me paying them I told them the price on Groupon $31.20 and the guy responded $35 is better and tried to swipe my card. I said no for that I will buy it on Groupon we kept going back and forth with the price and I said forget it I'm purchasing it on Groupon that's it. The lady who I'm assuming is the owner came out and repeatedly kept telling me to cancel my Groupon and I said no and she said ok then no service. What kind of customer service is that? Why is your business even on Groupon if you don't want to honor the prices? I was so disgusted I just walked out. read more

Horrible foot massage and 15 minute body massage. First of all, I had scheduled an appointment however when I got there I had a 45 minute wait. Most of the massage was painful. I don't see how scratching my scalp, pushing your fingers into my scalp, and pushing your fingers into my temples is supposed to be enjoyable. During the massage the masseuse was talking to another employee - annoying and not professional! When I went to pay using a debit card I was told "cash is better" which I thought was rude. They lost a potentially loyal customer. They talked and laughed during the entire hour, barely used any pressure, and then demanded a higher tip. I only went there because Mias was booked. I used to come here all the time a couple of years ago. Always had a nice relaxing experience and left a nice tip accordingly. Yesterday was a particularly stressful day, so I decided to treat myself. I went in and asked for the 1 hour foot massage (which was advertised in the window for $30). Well...everything started off fine. I rolled up my pant legs and put my feet into the warm water...super nice. Then the woman starts massaging my face...which I wasn't used to but I went with it. As she moved down to my shoulders her pressure was way too hard, but I figured I was just extra tense. Then I got really uncomfortable. The woman, before even beginning to rub my feet, asked if I wanted to change my pants. I said no thank you and proceeded to roll them up higher (I was wearing super stretchy jeggings). Instead of just moving on, this woman thought it was appropriate to tell me "I think your pants are too tight). I was SO uncomfortable the entire rest of the massage and could not relax. Not only was she hurting me, she made me feel so embarrassed and awkward with her comment...my pants were rolled up past my knee. They were not in her way... When it came time to pay, I decided to take a little off of her tip because of the experience I had. She had the NERVE to ask me for more money!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! A tip is at the customer's discretion, and I can give you whatever the hell I think you deserve! I was mortified in front of the other people waiting and so enraged. I asked to speak to the owner, who was conveniently not there. After that awkwardness I had to actually pay my bill. Remember that sign in the window that said $30. YEAH RIGHT! I was charged $42! And I specifically asked for the one in the window! I left so much more tense then when I walked in. A complete waste of my time and money!
