I was picking up my prescription glasses today and also checking my glasses before i leave , then i found out my glasses is a bit scratch in the back of the frame . I was telling them that scratchThey told me because the frame was bend and one side will be scratched and other side no. I know this is a horrible liar . Im been wearing glasses for years . Im leaving a review of this place for I was extremely impressed by not only the service but the Dr herself. Dr. J is not only friendly & pretty, she's extremely knowledgeable & very thorough with eye your eye examination. She explains in details about your eye (in which I found fascinating). Staff are friendly. The guy (Jorden) who assisted me after was very patient and pleasant. Grant it even thou I had my own glasses in which I wanted to be fix & with insurance still came out pricy but hey glasses are whether yours or not! Definitely recommend this business! read more

What a terrible experience with Dr Weissfield at the For Eyes in Aventura. Not only her attitude is inappropriate but also the unethical approach. Since the start of the consultation, she is all about the extra services that are not covered by the insurance. She refused to performed a regular eye dilation (service covered by the insurance) because Dr. Weissfield only wants to sell you the extra service with their equipment at an extra charge. She asked me to signed a form that I was refusing to do the regular dilation when I wasn't. I felt the same way in my appointment about a year ago and my wife also felt the same way in a prior appointment. I DO NOT recommend For Eyes in Aventura but more specifically, I DO NOT recommend seeing Dr. Weissfield. read more

Milly the store manager is exceptional. I bought a pair of frameless eye glasses. The lab did not apply the anti-glare coating to one of the lenses. She noticed immediately. She let me use the glasses until the corrected lenses arrived. Another lady swapped the lenses. She didn't do very well and scratched one of the lens. The temples were also out of alignment. I was very displeased with the glasses while waiting on the new lens. When Milly swapped the scratched lens, she also corrected the alignment. Before that, I was ready to request a refund. My glasses now are great. I love them as much as my previous pair. Milly did a fantastic job of correcting my glasses and giving me complete satisfaction. Milly you are fantastic! I went on 1/15 to get my annual eye exam for eyeglasses and contact lenses. Everything was normal, they took my insurance and got the exam done. At checkout I ended up paying $109. According to my insurance it should have only been $10 for the eye exam itself and $39 for the retinal photo. I called my insurance afterwards cause I have never paid that much out of pocket for an eye exam with insurance, and they called the Dr. office and they gave me some BS excuse that the insurance don't pay for specialty contact lenses fitting. There was nothing special about the contact lens fitting. Furthermore, the Dr. pushed me at first to change to a different brand of contact lenses than the one that I have been using for years and it was a total disaster. I trusted her that this brand was better and a newer technology and from the moment I put those contact on I had headaches, blurry vision and teary eyes. I called them half way through the trial of the new contacts and requested to switch back to the old brand. I will never do business at this location. I have been a loyal customer of the For eyes location at Coral Way in Miami and I never had issues. $109 for an eye exam with insurance is outrageous and a rip off. Shameful! read more

They also tried to charge me more for my contacts than 1-800-contacts but since I am the queen of research I knew the price they were about to charge me was higher...even they promised they were the lowest. When I arrived for my appointment the dr ashly weissfield roskein said she would not see me because she does not take my insurance yet she sent me 8 messsges to confirm my appointment. Then she said it was automated and that someone called my yesterday Sunday to talk to me that is bullshit. I had no calls from her or anyone in this store for the last 3 day. She was very professional and patient with me even though i was still in the store past their closing time. I'm 49 years old and I've worn glasses all of my life and can honestly say that this was the worst experience I've ever had at an optical store. I don't even write reviews but I feel compelled to after this horrific experience. I am at the end of three calendar weeks waiting for my glasses and it is only today after nearly 10 calls and hours of hold time that they tell me the frames are on backorder with no confirmed date of delivery. Prior to this, I spoke to 5 different sales reps on 10 different occasions over 2 weeks to check on status of my glasses. I cannot drive at night without them. They each put me on hold and then told me they would call me back but never did. I finally asked for the manager so that I can at least get someone who felt responsible enough to give me an explanation and follow up. It turns out that the managers at For Eyes only show up once or twice a week at the location. When we finally spoke after days of waiting, she also put me on hold until the system hung up on itself. Even though she had my name and number, she never called me back. When I called back 5 hours later I finally got her attention reluctantly. She then put me on hold again only to eventually tell me the frames were on backorder. On top of that, I had ordered a second pair of progressive sunglasses that had arrived on time but they came back as single vision vs. the progressive lens that I ordered. While the salesperson was correcting the mistake for me, he realized that I was 'undercharged' by my original salesperson for the first pair and said he now need to submit it to his management so they can "approve" the undercharge. I was confused and didn't understand this as I had already purchased both glasses 2 weeks prior and was just waiting for them at this point. If they noticed an charge error after a purchas at that point isn't that something for them to deal with internally. Instead, this salesperson had held up my entire order (which was already delayed) until management can review the original purchase (which was already a completed transaction on my credit card for weeks). Huh?? Now today the manager is telling me I was "lucky" that management approved me getting these glasses for less than what they are worth BUT she had no idea when the backorder was coming in and the floor sample was damaged. When I asked why no one bothered to let me know they were on back order or that they were delayed for "management approval" after numerous inquiries she emphasized once more that I was undercharged for the frames and that they were losing money on them. huh? I am truly beside myself that I spent hours at the For Eyes choosing frames and placing orders, made a purchase of over $700, called 10 times with no explanations and long hold times with hangups, waited 3 weeks with still no glasses in hand and the manager tells me I'm lucky because of the discount I got from THEIR OWN mistakes? Sigh. I cancelled the entire order and asked for a refund. I'm back to square one with no glasses, I can't see and now have to start all over. I feel so lucky (not). It was truly the worst customer service I've ever experienced with NO reasonable person to speak to. They don't care about the customer and it shows. PLEASE PLEASE save yourself the stress, time and frustration and don't walk in those doors. NOT worth any "discount" ... EVER. They have no idea how business works. I had a good experience at this For Eyes location. I was able to get an appointment the same day and have everything taken care of in a day. I received my new glasses in a week. The staff for friendly, helpful and in inviting. My only complaint is the limited selection of men's frames and recognizable brands. When I went there was only one pair of Ray Bans and one of Burberry frames. The rest of the frames were Randy Jackson, Marc Ecko, Eco, or Ecko unlimited. Stores like Lens crafters or independent dealers have much better selection. I ended up just having them change the lens in my current sunglasses to get frames that I wanted. Overall, I would return for the doctor, but not sure about frames. read more

We cannot say enough about how great every experience we have had at Aventura For Eyes. My husband and I have been getting our eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses there for years. The store manager, Mily, is amazing. She knows her inventory, our previous orders, and definitely has flair for finding glasses that look good on us. The optometrists are amazing, especially with my tricky prescription. Even though we always wait for Mily to help us, the rest of the staff is top notch, especially Scott who definitely knows his stuff!!! Be careful with this place. I gave them my insurance info over the phone to make sure that they accepted it. They told me no problem, we except it, and they made an appointment for me to come in. I had my exam with the doctor, which was fine. Only after the exam, when we were discussing lens options for my frames, the sales person said that I was out of network but they would give me a "discount." This is how they bring you into the store, even if your insurance is out of network, and then have you spend A LOT of money on frames and lenses. As another customer said in their review: get your eye exam there if you want, but take your prescription elsewhere to be filled. read more

So disappointed on this place. I bought 2 pairs of glasses here about 1.5 ago and I came to just have the frames adjusted. I paid over 600 for the 2 pairs so I don't think it's too much to get the frame tightened. I arrived at exactly 5:00 and the store was already closed. There were 2 people inside that refused to acknowledge me and pretended I wasn't there. They got a second star because they were nice while trying to sell me glasses. Post sales though, is lacking.
