Dr Teri Rose was a poor listener, did not take the time to understand what I was requesting. When I had difficulty with the glasses, she replied with what felt like an accusation that I had elective surgery to have mono-vision. I reminded her that I had a hereditary eye disease and that this had not been elective surgery. My new optometrist informed me that the driving glasses they prescribed should never have been selected for mono-vision. When I request a refund, Gould Vision never returned my call. If I had to guess, I'd say that Dr Rose hates her job, dislikes working with people, and regrets her career choice. Skip Gould Vision, and find an optometrist who will actually care about your vision needs.

(3/5) - Great store, mixed service, frustrating follow-through…read more I visited the Ray-Ban Store on Lincoln Road to demo their new smart glasses, and the experience was... a bit of a rollercoaster. Let me start with the good. There's a lot of construction happening on Lincoln Road right now, especially right in front of the store, so it's a little tricky to find--but once you get there, the space itself is beautiful. The store is clean, modern, and very well put together. The displays are sleek, and overall the ambiance is easily 5 stars. The initial service was also solid. There were three employees working, and all of them acknowledged me when I walked in--even one who was already helping another customer, which was noticeable but not intrusive. It gave the impression that they were attentive and on top of things. That said, a couple of small details stood out early. Some of the display glasses had noticeable smudges, and there wasn't an obvious place to clean them before trying them on. I had to ask for a cloth, which felt a little off for a premium retail experience. Now, where things started to go sideways: I had a reservation to demo the new smart glasses (which I'll review separately--they're actually very impressive). During the demo, the associate noticed I was already wearing a pair of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses and incorrectly identified them as first-generation. I politely clarified that they were second-generation and that I also owned the original Wayfarer version--but instead of moving on, she doubled down. What followed was a surprisingly long and unnecessary back-and-forth (5-10 minutes) where she insisted I was wrong. Another employee even joined in to support her point. Eventually, they clarified that they consider their in-store lineup as the "first generation," which... fine--but that's not the same thing. At that point, it stopped feeling like a conversation and more like they just needed to be right. It was awkward and honestly off-putting, especially given the price point of what I was there to buy. To her credit, the demo itself was well done. She walked through the features clearly, and I left feeling good about the product. Unfortunately, the biggest issue came after the purchase. When I got home, the glasses I received were clearly used--and worse, they were defective. So I came back the very next day (through all that construction and traffic again) to exchange them. I realized I had left the charging cable at home, so I asked if they could just swap one from the box--standard USB cable, nothing special. The same associate refused, saying everything had to be returned together because the items are "serialized." That didn't make much sense for a basic cable, and given the context, it felt more like she was being difficult--especially since she made a point to reference our earlier disagreement. I left, came back the next day, and had a completely different experience. The manager handled everything smoothly, immediately offered a replacement, and even asked why the cable hadn't just been swapped out the day before. Night and day difference. Final takeaway: * Ambiance: * Product: (pricey, but impressive) * Service: (saved by the manager) For a brand like Ray-Ban and a purchase in this price range, you expect a more consistent, "white glove" experience. The store looks the part--but the service doesn't always match it. I still like the product, and I'm glad I did the demo--but I'd be cautious about expecting a smooth customer experience here. Hopefully they tighten things up, because the potential is definitely there.
