I am a 24 year old semi-adult who has never bought glasses for myself and have very little concept of how to maneuver insurance, so I was not excited to waltz in there with no plan. Regardless, I did, and thankfully, Kara greeted me and was beyond funny, chill, reassuring, and helpful. She gave me space to wander, explained the daunting "insurance" situation, gave me an honest opinion on which route was cheapest, checked in every once in a while, but didn't do that "hover-over-your-shoulder-while-you-try-to-decide" kind of thing. She tracked down 5 pairs of glasses within 30 seconds, solely from low-quality selfies I had with them on, having tried some on the week prior. Once I settled on 3 I liked, she helped me pick which 2 looked best & fit the vibe I was going for. Honestly, it weirdly felt like I had a friend with me? Lol. The front desk staff has remained the same for the last two years (a good sign, in my opinion) and they are consitently friendly and helpful. The office recently underwent a major rennovation and it's pleasantly warm and comfortable. I have seen two of the three doctors here - most recently Dr. Knighton. My exam was very thorough, and every decision was explained to me clearly. My questions were answered, and I really got the sense that this doctor loves what she does. In just under an hour I left with a pair of trial contacts in my peepers, and a follow-up appointment for next week. I have never felt the sales pressure to buy $300 glasses here, as I have at many other offices. Nor have I ever felt like I was just one of dozens of patients/customers to be ushered from station to station. This office treats every patient with respect and gratitude for their business.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tupps a long time, and loved him. He is gone. The practice is not the…read moresame. Today I went for a contact lens appointment... they would not even give me a firm price for the exam, other than it will be over $400+... and we will tell you what the final cost is going to be after the exam. The last time I had a contact lens exam at this practice the cost was $254. At $400, it is a 57% increase from my last eye exam three years ago. When I questioned the huge increase, I was told that Dr. Tupps kept his prices the same forever and that he did not charge enough. When I shared that that's a 20% increase per year, they again said he didn't charge enough. I left. Called another local eye doctor. My total eye exam cost, including contacts, was $215... Which they quoted me upfront. Within an hour I had my contact lens prescription and saved at least $185. We will not be back. They lost me as a customer. They also lost my husband as a customer. When I used to go to Dr. Tupps the waiting room was always packed. Today I walked into an empty, waiting room... Now I know why.

Dr Mona Henri is an exemplary health professional; she…read morelistens to your concerns, thoroughly explains and answers your questions, puts the patients' care first - and her friendly demeanor is the cherry on top. I've been to several different doctors all over the state of Florida, and Dr Henri was the first to listen and actually check out one of my ongoing concerns I've had for years that others had ignored or minimized (to the point where I started to minimize my own symptoms and told myself I must be over-reacting). Luckily I'm now on my way to resolving it thanks to VIP! The staff and opticians are also fantastic! They were friendly and knowledgeable, and are transparent on the cost of the exam and glasses. Jodi was amazing - she sat with me and showed me plenty of options, broke down what my costs were going to be before moving forward, and did it with a smile. Financials can be hard to talk about, especially when some other places try to keep it under wraps. But not here - they made the conversation feel natural, expected, and made me so comfortable. And as for the glasses and contacts - they have brands and technologies I've never even heard of! They have a contact line that's better for those with astigmatism at a fair price (not much more than my usual) that they are ordering a trial sample for. And I just learned about these glasses with magnetic attachments for shades, blue light blocking, and even night driving! I typically wouldn't describe most doctor appointments as "fun" but I actually had a great time and would say the process was fun! I felt confident that the health of my eyes were in good hands. And confident that I'll be happy with my glasses purchase. All in all, a great experience, I doubt I'll ever procrastinate my eye exam ever again!
