I got a pair of glasses and the were too strong. After I explained this to the staff, a gentleman named Tom dismissed my complaints and told me that was normal. He said I should "just get used to them" and told me there was "no way" the doctor would see me about it that day. Luckily there was another customer complaining about the same issue at the same time, so I pushed back. I refused to accept the glasses and demanded a refund. The doctor came out real quick and he indeed had to reduce the magnification. If I had listened to the staff, I am concerned my eyes could have been damaged by the incorrect prescription. After the adjustment, the glasses do work great and I am happy with them. However I wish the staff had taken me at my word, instead of acting like I was annoying them. read more

They might have a fancy new building although the woman who assisted me is not skilled in adjusting the glasses I purchased there and had numerous excuses for not being able to adjust them properly. I went back 2 times to give her another chance. I went somewhere else for help only to be told that the frames were actually too large for my head. GO HERE!!! NOW!!! Truly amazing service! I went in and got my prescription updated last week with Dr. Daniel Geary & the whole experience was a delight. The receptionist & Dr. Geary were personable and easy going! Just came back today (still sitting in the parking lot as I type this lol) to try on glasses to find a new pair. I am a 24 year old semi-adult who has never bought glasses for myself and have very little concept of how to maneuver insurance, so I was not excited to waltz in there with no plan. Regardless, I did, and thankfully, Kara greeted me and was beyond funny, chill, reassuring, and helpful. She gave me space to wander, explained the daunting "insurance" situation, gave me an honest opinion on which route was cheapest, checked in every once in a while, but didn't do that "hover-over-your-shoulder-while-you-try-to-decide" kind of thing. She tracked down 5 pairs of glasses within 30 seconds, solely from low-quality selfies I had with them on, having tried some on the week prior. Once I settled on 3 I liked, she helped me pick which 2 looked best & fit the vibe I was going for. Honestly, it weirdly felt like I had a friend with me? Lol. Kara was casual in a very comforting way and is definitely one of those people who just makes you feel content with life. So, if you're looking for a chill atmosphere with even cooler people, take your glasses business here!!! Just moved from San Diego to St Pete and was planning on going to Lenscrafters in the Countryside Mall. Actually made appointment to go but dr office later called and cancelled and referred me elsewhere due to not taking VSP (though there was no problems with using VSP in San Diego or even Boston!). Found Visionworks through VSP-had eye appointment and fitting. Great experience and was really happy with the service-especially from Marissa! She was terrific helping me getting everything I needed. I was also really surprised how less expensive they were from Lenscrafters (even without using my insurance). I even bought an extra pair of prescription sunglasses just fo the beach. I pick them up next week and will let you know how it goes. But so far I love my new contacts and have had a great experience! Thank you Lenscrafters for turning me away just because I did not have the right insurance! You lost a customer who spends lots of $$$ on glasses for work and fun! read more

I came in to get my glasses adjusted. When I walked in they asked what I needed and I advised an adjustment on glasses (that I purchased here). It was obvious they didn't want to deal with it advising me three people were ahead of me and only two people working. I appreciated the info and heads up, it was just the tone and how it was stated. Just picked up 2 pair of glasses, one regular and one sunglasses. Both turned out perfect, Marisa had helped me pick them out and was very helpful, polite and professional. She looked at the glasses I had on which I liked and found a pair very close. I tried them on and liked them but to be sure I tried on many many others, of course I ended up with the ones Marisa showed me first. It was the same with the sunglasses but what I appreciated the most about the visit was Marisa's honest opinion, if something didn't look right she would tell me size, color and product quality. Great optometrist and nice clean building. It is pretty easy to get an appointment here. I'm always surprised when I call and they have an opening for the next day. They even text you a reminder about your appointment. There was one time that they texted me two times (2 p.m. and 3 p.m.) when I scheduled a 2:30 p.m. appointment. I figured that was the way they did half hours, but it turns out they thought they scheduled me for 3 p.m. When I showed up they still did their best to squeeze me in at 2:30 p.m. and I appreciated that. I can't remember the optometrist's name (terrible I know), but there is only one there. I can't overemphasize how super nice she is. I almost feel like she was trained to work with children, because usually people with her personality work with kids. Then again, her personality is good with old people too, and I've seen her treating them. Point it, if I had a child I would take them to see her. read more

This was my first experience at this location. I was there for an eye exam and to get glasses. The eye doctor was helpful and answered all my questions. The sales associate was nice and helpful as well. She explained to me my recommendations based on my daily activities. And I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. Edit 11/20/18 Apparently I had to call in to see if my glasses were finished and surprisingly they were the day before. The associate over the phone asked me when they were suppose to be done, I'm not sure why she would ask when I called in to see the statutes of my glasses. And surprisingly they were done the day before and said I was suppose to get a phone call, text, or email that they were ready but I didn't even though I had to inform them before to correct my information. I rarely give 5 stars. My vision had deteriorated as of late, just from my last appt. in November. Having just moved here, I went through the process of looking for a new optometrist. Based on recent Yelp reviews, and it being close to me, I thought I would try here. I called for an appointment and they had an early one and I took it. The phone staff was very pleasant, helpful, and gave full disclosure on pricing. I show up and again the front staff was friendly and very helpful with the pre exam procedures. Very professional. The optometrist, Dr. Giardino was superb. I received a very thorough examination and full explanation of an early onset of cataracts. He was very professional and patiently answered all of my questions, and fully disclosed my conditions and proposed course going forward. Accepting his advice, I could finally see again!, walking out with a different type of contact lens. The price was very reasonable and there was NO pressure to buy lenses or glasses there. Really excited to have found him and this VisionWorks. We will be regular clients going forward. As an aside, my wife wears glasses and the staff offered to adjust hers if needed. I stopped in to have a few replacement lenses put into my sunglasses. It should be noted that I didn't purchase the lenses nor the sunglasses at that store; or even from that company, but they happily put my lenses in without a question. Even further, Stephen happily tightened and adjusted the sunglasses to fit my face perfectly - while taking great care not to damage my glasses/lenses. He was professional and courteous as well. I stopped in to Visionworks last week to browse their frames and decided to get an estimate for a new pair of glasses while I was there. I was told that I had to provide, along with my name and address, my birth date before they would proceed. I objected to providing my birthdate at that preliminary juncture because, as I told the two sales ladies, I was merely seeking a estimate, had been a victim of identity theft in the past and have been vigilant ever since. I was curtly told that they would not help me any further if I did not provide my birthdate. One told me Florida law required such information since Vision Works was a medical establishment. Although they may have an in house optometrist they are certainly not a medical facility and I was not there for an eye exam). I could have made up a birth date and moved on but I was so taken back and insulted by their hostile attitude that I decided to leave. When I got up from the desk one of the clerks sarcastically uttered have a good day. I'll go blind before I'll ever find my way back to that store. read more

I went to several other places and compare prices and this location by far gave me the best price and quality. Got a glasses adjustment from Visionworks today. A nice gentleman helped me out, adjusted my glasses, and I was in and out quickly!

I was the first person here and I had to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor. I only took an hour off work so this isn't looking promising. I came here because it's the cheapest but it's really not worth it. Next year I'll go somewhere that isn't a chain. I can't seem to find an eye place I like. Disappointed again. They should start implementing the pizza deliver policy... If they don't see you in 30 minutes your appointment should be free! Also, there are 3 counters when you walk in. No one greets you are tells you where to sign in. To top it all off the computer system isn't working so now I'm waiting for them to fix the issue so I can pay my bill...So sad since the doctor is so nice. UPDATE: I just got my bill that they had to fax to me because their system was down and they charged me $60 for sample contacts! I've never been charged for samples before. Will NOT be buying my contacts here. Fail. read more

The waiting here is interminible. There is no getting in and getting out quickly, no matter why you are here. They do have good prices on frames and the BOGO deal (especially for kids) is good. Typical response from Hanna today. She couldn't understand a person's frustration with being on their mailing list for coupons, that are never offered for clients with insurance. Tried to explain to her that it would be nice not to have to pick the cheapest frames so the Insurance could nearly cover the expense, and that it would be nice to actually get to use the coupons they send you all year long to entice you to shop with them for a pair of glasses. But you see she had her little 12 year old attitude that I was stupid, so she just spoke over me and demanded my DOB so she could pull up my file. Fortunately for both of us, my insurance was no longer accepted there. Of course she couldn't wait for me to leave, assuming that I wouldn't want to omit even using insurance and utilize their coupon that isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Never have I ever, been able to use a coupon they mail which is why I am angry. They use my info, they get from the sale of a pair of glasses to put me on their mail list, knowing I have insurance, but specifically from combining the use of the coupon with insurance. Don't send them to me if I cannot use them, it is ridiculous and a waste of money, and resources and it pisses people off to know they cannot get 50% off the cost, because you only give them to the people with no insurance. Stupid, then mail them the frecken coupons and stop sending to the people that cannot use them. Idiots. read more

I have Macular Degeneration which means I cannot buy my glasses from Visionworks, I have to get them from my low vision specialist. Yesterday, one of the little screws that secures the lenses in the frame came out. I went to my local Vision works at 3301 4th St. North in St. Pete to see if they could help me. I called this location a few weeks ago to schedule an eye exam. I was transferred to the doctors office there and no one answered. The sales associate took my name and number and said someone from the doctors side would call me back to schedule the exam, no one ever did. I went to another eye doctor for my exam. I later came to this location to look for frames. I arrived shortly after they opened at 9am. I was the only customer but yet all of the employees had parked in all of the parking spaces closest to the front door. I have a very young child and had to park further away and carry them in. I also noticed that the few customers that entered after me we older and could had benefited from those front slots, especially since the handicap spots are on the side of the building furthest away from the front door. I was in the store for several minutes before anyone greeted me. Again, I was the only customer and there were at least 4 employees there when I entered. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received prior to walking into the front doors and even more upset with the service once I entered. I guess I'll find frames elsewhere and never go back here. read more

They have always been so helpful, whether it be an eye exam, fitting for contacts, or helping with finding the right glasses. I brought my existing non-prescription sunglasses in to price out getting prescription lenses in them. They could have just went ahead and given me a quote to make money, but instead, they advised me against it because these particular frames wouldn't work well with the lenses I would need.
